Introduction
Leadership is one of the most essential skills required to implement efficient service in the
residential disability care sector. It is one of the most important attributes that should be
possessed by the team leaders. Effective leadership enables in formulating a proper vision for
the organizations in the residential disability care sectors. The work environment in
residential disability care is dynamic. This study will deal with the definition of the
leadership. Comparison of Different kinds of leadership theories essential for the residential
disability care setting will be identified and they will be analyzed in a prominent manner. The
different components of leadership theories those influences the work of social practitioners
in the residential disability care setting will be analyzed. At last a summary of all the points
will be included in the conclusion section. The concluding section will comprise of
recommendation to improve the leadership in the residential disability care settings.
Analysis of leadership using the Trait theory approach
According to the researchers, leadership is the quality to incorporate proper vision in a team
and to implement that vision in reality by efficient action. Mainly the leadership in the
residential disability care comprises many traits based on four components (Burnes 2009).
. These are Person, position, process, and purpose. These traits are analyzed to see the
different aspects of leadership in residential disability care settings. The four traits or skills of
leadership in residential disability care are mentioned below.
