INTRODUCTION
TRAVIS Perkins PLC is a leading merchandising and home construction trade
improvement retailing firm of the UK. It is parent company of Wickes which offers more than
10,000 products in Kitchens and bathrooms to paint and timber. All these products and available
in physical and online stores. It offers superior quality products and services for its business
consumers. Company is supplying the building and construction trade from last 200 years and
millions of consumers are getting benefited from the products that are supplied by the company.
Present report describes about potential impact of changes on the key stakeholders of the
business. In addition to that recommendations have been given to support these stakeholders
through the transition.

Wickes makes use of autocratic leadership style for giving orders and commands to the
subordinates of the company. Company is presently recognizing change process and it has been
decided that leadership style that is being adopted by managers of the company needs to be
modified. It is required that employees working in the firm should be provided with effective
directions and instructions. In addition to that it -

Wickes has decided to make changes in its existing leadership practices so that required
objectives can be achieved. Change process has been implemented in the existing leadership
style that is being followed in the organization. Leadership is defined as practice that is being
followed in the enterprise for rendering appropriate directions and instructions to the
subordinates. According to Lewin's change management model it is required that organization
should be well prepared for implementing the change (Ehrhart, 2015). It requires positive

support of all the stakeholders of business for applying all the necessary changes in the entity in
a successful manner.
Other than this it is also needed that proper and effective strategies should be used so that
required outcomes can be gained in advantageous and successful manner. Leadership is
backbone of the organization. In addition to that it is also required that proper support and
involvement of the staff member is also taken. Other than this all the stakeholders gets affected
due to the changes that happened in the organization. It has been decided by the management of
the company that leadership style of the company needs to be changed (Seeley, 2013). Presently
company is following autocratic leadership style and under this method strict orders and
instructions are given to the subordinates for accomplishing a specific task and responsibilities.
No participation of subordinates is taken in the decision making process and due to that impact
has been observed on the overall performance given by the staff members. It is critical that
involvement should be given by all the stakeholders for implementing the changes in same
manner as required (Hill, Jones and Schilling, 2014). Different stakeholders of business are as
described :-
Employees :- Human resource is most significant stakeholder of the business that supports for
accomplishing the required goals and objectives of business in effective manner. Positive support
given by staff member supports for executing the required operations of business in successful
manner. Wickes needs to involve all the staff members so that required changes can be
implemented properly. There are many challenges that are faced from the employee's side while
implementing the changes. All the key stakeholders of the business gets affected by the changes
that are implemented in the organization (Brandon-Jones and Walsman, 2016). Staff members
are the most significant stakeholder of the business.
It has been decided by the management of Wickes that democratic leadership style will
be followed in the organization and involvement and participation of all the staff members will
be taken in various practices and procedures that are followed in the enterprise. Employees will
feel appreciated and recognized when they will be involved in the strategy formulation process
and decision making process of the organization. In addition to that it is required by staff
members to find innovative ideas and concepts that are required to be given by them so that new

improvements can be made in the practices and procedures that are carried out in the
organization.
Employees need to be more creative and they need to make enhancements in their
existing thinking skills and capabilities. Democratic leadership style will give feeling of
recognition and appreciation to the employees. In addition to that it is also required that all the
personals in then organization should be skilled and competent enough for rendering their
positive support (von Thiele Schwarz and et. al., 2016). However, there are some challenges that
are faced while implementing the changes in leadership. Employees becomes free when strict
orders and commands are not given to them. If proper support will not be given by employees
than due to that it becomes difficult for rendering proper support to employees.
Employees need to be more creative and innovative while implementing the democratic
leadership. When innovative ideas and new concepts will be given by staff members for
executing the required function than due to that it becomes easier for management to make
action plans and strategies for the company (Sting and Loch, 2016). Long term growth and
competitive advantage can be gained by the business and it will also help for gaining long term
growth and success for the business. This leadership style will help for developing atmosphere of
conduct and it will also help for maintaining safe and conducting working environment for the
business. Workers are the most prominent stakeholders of the business that helps for
accomplishing required goals and objectives. Poor skills and capabilities posses by staff
members will create a challenge in gaining goals and objectives of the enterprise. Moreover
difficulties are faced in adopting this leadership style if proper support will not be given by staff
members in implementing the required changes. Indiscipline shown by employees. In addition to
that it is also becomes challenging when proper skills and competence is not shown by staff
members.
Customers :- All the products and services of Wickes are purchased by consumers. It is
assertive that needs and expectations of buyers should be considered while developing and
designing the goods and various services of the enterprise (Dale, 2015). In addition to that active
involvement of all the key stakeholders is also required to implement the changes in proper

order. Management of company has decided to make changes in leadership style that is being
followed in the enterprise.
Suppliers :- Necessary raw material that is needed for executing the required functions of
enterprise are provided by suppliers. If proper supports will not be given by suppliers than due to
that difficulties will be faced in implementing the required changes (Cerit, 2013). Other than this
if proper changes will be made than due to that efficiency of the organization will improve and
profitability will also be improved. It will help in providing better opportunities for the suppliers.
Local community people :- local community people gets benefited by the products and services
that are offered by the company and it also helps for rendering better opportunities for
community people. In addition to that it is also required that local community people should be
properly informed about the changes that are about to be got implemented in the company.

Stakeholders should be supported through transition so that better and required outcomes
can be properly received. Other than this it is vital that necessary assistance should also be given
by all the stakeholders so that changes can be implemented in effective and structured manner.
Some recommendations for involving support of stakeholders is as described :-
 Employees can be provided with better training and development program so that their
skills and capabilities can be improved in proper and effective way (Rosso, Tempel and
Melandri, 2013). It is assertive that positive and proper support should be rendered by all
the stakeholders so that required outcomes can be gained. External trainer can be invited
for imparting required skills and capabilities so that necessary outcomes can be received.
It will help for rendering better training and support to the staff members so that required
outcomes can be gained by changes that have been implemented in the organization.
 Other than this open discussion session can be organized in the company in which all the
staff members can be requested for attending the session. Suggestions can be taken from
them for identifying ways for implementing the changes in better and effective ways.
This method will help for assessing and implementing ways for implementing the change
process in better and effective way. Wickes is planning for adopting democratic
leadership style for enhancing involvement of subordinates in the decision making

process of the company. Other than this it is also required that all the stakeholders should
render their positive and better support so that required goals and objectives of business
should be achieved.
 Suppliers can be sent with the E-mails and telephonic conversation can be made with
them and they can be informed regarding the changes that are about to be implemented in
the company (Darmawan, 2015). It will help for gaining required support of suppliers and
better outcomes will be gained from the change implementation process that has been
executed in the company.
 Reward system can be implemented in the organization and staff members who render
positive and better support can be given by employees when this method is implemented
in the company. Those employees who render their full support can be provided with
rewards and it will enhance moral and motivational level of employees for accomplishing
the required changes in the company (RESCHREITER, 2015). Monthly star performer
scheme can be launched and employees can be appreciated and rewarded for the good
efforts and support made by them in implementing the changes in leadership styles of the
company.
 Feedback system can also be implemented so that reviews of the employees can also be
taken. It will help in identifying weak performing areas that occurred while implementing
the changes in the company. Questionnaire method can be used and different questions
can be mentioned in it regarding the satisfaction level of employees and other
stakeholders from the business processes that have been implemented in the company.
Other than this personal interview of all the stakeholders can also be taken so that their
reviews can be taken and it will help for understanding the effectiveness of systems that
have been implemented in the company.
 Open door policy and compliant box system can also be implemented in the company. It
will help in taking reviews of workers about the leadership style. Their satisfaction level
can also be assessed and it will support for gaining better outcomes from the change
implementation process (Bello, 2015). Open door policy will help for assessing the
personal views of employees about change in leadership styles. Other than this complaint

box system will help for taking reviews from the staff members and new modifications
can be done in the processes that have been implemented in the company.
CONCLUSION
Summing up the present report it can be concluded that it required that systematic and
strategic approach should be used for implementing the changes in the organization. In addition
to that it is also needed that all the key stakeholders of the company should be involved for the
change implementation process and it will help for gaining the required outcomes from the
process. Employees, consumers, suppliers and local community people are key stakeholders of
the business and it is required that they should render their positive and effective support so that
required goals and outcomes of business can be achieved. Moreover, it is also needed that
effective and innovative strategies should be implemented in the organization so that better
outcomes can be gained from the new changes that have been implemented in the company.
