Social development has shaped the media audience and has improved their standard of
living. Industrialization has helped in the improvement of urban cities. Industrialization has
increased employment opportunities in the Britain and other countries (Reich, 2017). That as
motivated audience and a large number of migrants come from rural areas to textile mills. In the
early nineteen centuries, there were many factories developed which have employed a large
number of women in the organizations. In the twentieth century, most of the women got jobs in
wartime offices (Tuten and Solomon, 2014).
Early to 1870 most of the firm were hiring small children for their work at low salaries. But after
passing Compulsory Elementary Education Act 1870 companies kept out children from the
industrial work. During the industrial revolution, many people left their own houses and they
came to urban cities. They were living in a single room, at that time there was the high risk of
fire hazard and social disorders (Kumar and Thapa, 2015).
The rise in mass media has shaped the modern ideas of the mass audience. Mass media is the
way that has improved knowledge of population about social facts and it has given development
opportunities to the people. Media has influenced the children and youth and it has helped in the
psychological development of the audience. Radio, television, the internet has improved learning
of the youth that has helped in living the healthy life (Dennis and Wartella, 2013). The earlier
audience were unaware of the legislation and other opportunities but raise in mass media has
made them aware of the real situation and that has developed their social living. The rise in the
internet developed web-based communication platform. Now the population is getting
information quickly, it has created the link between business and consumers.
Changes in conceptions of mass audience impact on the social and political power.
People are getting aware about the facts and rights (Anstead and O'Loughlin, 2015). They fight
for unethical behavior and that is why their living standards are improving. Changes in
conceptions and ideas impact positively on the audience. They are getting relevant information,
they understand the issues and finding solutions to political problems. That helps in removing the
political issues and find suitable solutions so that population can make possible changes in their
behavior (Valkenburg and Peter, 2013). They are now aware of the benefits of the small family

thus, individualism has been increased. The positive aspects that of changes are that family has
become more focuses to the new market. Earlier there were many strikes and protests erupted in
the UK. After the changes in conceptions of the mass audience, state authorities has taken the
step for reducing possibilities of rebellion. With the help of this, urban aesthetics has been
enhanced. Political power remains in control and leaders are paying attention to a good fare of
society so that it can get developed soon (Valenzuela, 2013). Women have started participating
in political movements. The population has demanded their rights. The new industrial city has
given new opportunity to the audience that is why income level of the public has been increased
and that has impacted positively on their living standards.

Media changes the nature of audience and population conceived as object what are acted by
media. Internet, television, radio etc. are powerful tools that influence the mind of a population
too great extent. The meaning of this concept is that people consider the objects that are played
in media very true (Nellemann and et.al, 2014). People look at internet and television and they
think that that is true news. They do not focus on the background of this news they think that
media always circulates the correct information thus they conceived the objects. The meaning of
this point is that whether audience believes on the facts or not. Sometimes people have
knowledge about the facts and they trust on such news which is already known by them
otherwise they do not believe on the facts which are played by media (Rauniar and et.al, 2014).
The persons those who live in the urban areas they know about the real stories and they are
having good knowledge about facts and figures. If any company advertise its products then they
look at the ingredients and reality of the advertisements then they turn they are mind whether to
buy it or not (Industrialisation and the Rise of the Modern city in England, 2017). On another
hand, if the audience belongs to the rural area and having no knowledge about the reality then
they considered or conceived this news as real. They think that media always give correct news
and they look upon the images and message then they turn their mind and purchase any products
without any confusion.
In the industrialized countries a large number of people spend their leisure hours with mass
media (Popular culture and the impact of industrialization, 2017). Nowadays it is considered as

the technique of increasing knowledge. People have faith in the media news and they react to the
information which is circulated by the media persons. They do not the concern for knowing
about the real fact they just agree on the point which is acted on the TV or internet
(Industrialisation and the Rise of the Modern city in England, 2017).
It can be argued that people generally believe in the fact which they already believe or know.
Media negligible influence their perception. Limited effects theory of mass media explains that
ability of influence voting found that people do not get much influence by the object which is
acted on the media until they know about it. Well, informed people believe more on experience,
prior knowledge, and reasoning. Critics said that majorly there are two problems attached with
this argument. First issues are that limited effect's theory ignores the fact of a role of media
(Rauniar and et.al, 2014). Media frame any questions and it asks for changes but audience
understand in differed manner and they draw their own conclusion by looking at the object. The
second issue with the theory is that availability of media is not yet widespread so it can not
influence the mind of a population too great extent. For instance, there are many placed where
people know the situation but there are no internet and TV facilities. Thus, in such areas, people
are still aware of the facts they know so no one can influence them (Valenzuela, 2013).
The class-dominant theory is argued on the topic whether an audience is often conceived as the
object that is acted upon media or not. This concept explains that media projects view of
minority elite and it controls over them. For example, if any organization is giving strong
advertisement then audience get influenced and they buy the products of such company, without
knowing the real ingredients of particular products. It is found that broader the appeal then the
mass audience will gather to buy the specific goods of the company. Thus people believe on the
facts which are acted upon media (Reich, 2017). It is statistical facts that television networks are
getting many advertisement contracts and getting millions of dollars for making a strong
advertisement. So that people get influenced and they are positive towards the organization.
Critics of this theory argue on this theory they state that quality of news much more depended
upon the skills of journalists. For example news about environment causes, anti- nuclear
movements etc. impact on the audience and they think before purchasing any goods. If
journalists are not good then an individual will not be able to present a good information thus,
people will not get influenced by this way (Tuten and Solomon, 2014).

Culturalist theory argues on the guidance conceived as the object that is acted upon by media. It
can be argued that people interact with media but they create their own meaning by looking upon
images and messages. It states that audience plays the active role in relation to mass media. The
theory emphasis on that it is depended upon the audience that what they want to watch. There is
the wide range of options but people get influenced by such media images and written material in
which individual has more interest (Dennis and Wartella, 2013).
It is found that people have changed their behavior and lifestyle due to the news circulated by
media. In the survey, it is found that one news channel has made people aware of the health
through media. Now the audience is paying more attention and their health and they do regular
exercise to remain fit for the longer duration. Most of the audience have changed their diet
schedule and they have made drastic changes in their routines lifestyle (Valkenburg and Peter,
2013). But critics have argued on the subject matter that it is not always right that all news are
correct. There is some information which is advertised in the broader way. According to
research, it is found that there are the number of television suppliers. And people spend much
time on the internet and watching TV. They believe on the circulated information but they
identify the facts and figures then they turn their mind. The audience does not really conceive as
objected that are acted by media until they get in depth information about the information
(Rauniar and et.al, 2014).

Selection of appropriate research methods is very important that supports in achieving a goal of
the research project. There are several types of methods can be used in this project. Research
philosophy is the general phenomenon that describes the way of collecting information in respect
of mass media and its implication on social development (Zumitzavan and Michie, 2015). For
the current topic in positivism, research philosophy would be appropriate as it emphasis more on
investigation object. That would be the flexible framework and the investigator would be able to
collect relevant information about the subject matter.
For the present study on mass, media and social development is the vast topic for that
descriptive research design would be better. With the help of this individual will be able to
construct the correct questionnaire and up to date information would be collected by the scholar

(Stanley, 2013). There are mainly two types of approaches that can be used b y researcher for the
investigation that is qualitative and quantitative. In the present study, a researcher needs to use
the inductive approach that would give optimistic results to the scholar. An individual can
develop a theory by collecting the relevant information about a subject matter. The investigator
needs to take sample mass audience those which are using media in their routine life. They
would be appropriate samples. By taking 50 respondents individual would be able to find the
details about the subject matter. Data collection is the most important method of research
through which scholar can gather in-depth detail about a topic which is an implication of mass
media on social development and its impact on their perception and beliefs (Zumitzavan and
Michie, 2015). The questionnaire would be the best tool that would support in getting the
optimistic results to the researcher. Data analysis is another method which assists in analyzing
the information gathered by the scholar on the subject matter. For the current study thematic
analysis would be the appropriate tool that would help in presenting the details in an accurate
manner. The graphical presentation is a great way that can give positive results and scholar can
draw a valid conclusion about the implication of mass media on social development and in
changing their perceptions (Stanley, 2013).
Investigator can ask about whether they conceived as the object that is acted upon by media. On
this question respondents will answer that yes they believe on the images and turn their mind.
Whereas maximum educated people will give the response in a way that they will believe if they
have any prior information about the fact otherwise they will no believe (Rauniar and et.al,
2014).
