INTRODUCTION
Visitor attraction management can be defined as the process of managing such locations that are
creating the visitor attraction for a country. It is very important for all the nations to make sure that they
are able to manage the tourist places properly as it is essential to meet economic objectives. For this
purpose, all the senior authorities of all the countries to formulate effective strategies for management of
all the places which are attracting visitors (Hall and Ram, 2019). Present report is based upon
management some specific visitor attractions of London. The assignment is based upon a promotional
agency of London which is London & Partners which is responsible to promote the city all around the
world. The person who applied for the job of manager within the organisation is required to prepare a
report on the visitor attractions sector. This assignment covers various topics such as examination of
importance visitor attractions and the scope and scale of the industry, exploration of different visitor
types, impacts and their motivations etc. Additionally, feasibility in to the development of an existing or a
new attraction is conducted along with application of visitor management techniques in this project.
TASK 1
P1 Discussion of classification of visitor attractions in relation to specific categories of visitor
attractions
London is one of the beautiful cities around the world and there are various tourist attractions in
the city. All of them are discussed below along with their classifications and specific categories:
Classification and categories: All the visitor attractions could be classified on the basis of built
and attractions. Discussion of them is as follows:
Built: These are the attractions that are built by human and then these are declared as the tourist
attractions for the visitors because of their infrastructure or the attractiveness. These could be categories
in two parts which are as follows:
Built for tourism purpose: These are the visitor attractions which are mainly made for attracting
large number of tourists in London. Main purpose of them is to enhance the number of visitors in
England so that the economy could be grown. The main example of it is Madame Tussauds
London. It is a wax museum in which sculpture of all the famous personalities are placed
(Stylidis and Cherifi, 2018). It is one of the main attractions of London because all the sculptures
that are places in it are made from wax and all of them are totally similar to the personalities.
Not built for tourism purpose but now attraction: All the attractions that were not made for
tourism purpose earlier but declared as the tourism attractions afterwards because of their
popularity are the part of this group. One of the main examples of it is Millennium Bridge. It was
mainly made for pedestrian so that they can cross the river without any difficulty. With the time it
became very popular because of its beauty and the infrastructure and then it became an attraction.

Natural: All the tourist attractions that are the natural places and could be visited by the visitors
are the natural attractions. There is one category of it which is as follows:
Natural attractions: The places which are naturally beautiful and visited by tourists are the
natural attractions of London. Some of the examples of them are Thames river, Virginia Water,
Queen’s Wood etc. All these places are visited by tourists from all around the world as they are
the part of beauty of London.
P2 Examination of importance of a range of different visitor attractions in relation to overall
purpose and impact upon economic growth
Tourist attractions play a major role in development of all the countries as well as the economy. In
London there are various places which are visited by tourists from different nations. All of them are vary
important for enhancing the growth rate of economy. Main purpose of all such types of attractions is to
increase the number of tourists from various nations so that the rate of economic growth could be
increased (Powell and Iankova, 2016). Description of purpose and importance of visitor attraction to the
local regional and national economy is as follows:
Madam Tussauds Museum: It is one of the main attractions which attract large number of
visitors every year. All the sculptures that are placed in this museum are made from vax and it is the main
reasons why people get attracted towards it. It is very important for the local, regional and nation
economy because the revenues which will be generated from the tourists will eb very high and it will help
to grow the economy. When the number of visitors will be increased then the income of London, England
and UK will be increased and it will result in very strong country.
Millennium Bridge: It is one of those attractions which were not made for tourism purpose. It
was mainly made for facilitating the pedestrians to cross the river without any type of struggle. With the
increasing number of visitors because of its beauty it was also declared as the attraction in London. Every
year a large number of visitors come to London to visit the bridge as it is very beautiful and its
infrastructure is very unique. It is very important for the economic growth at local, regional and national
level because the tourism which is generated by it is very high which will help to increase the visibility of
London.
Thames river: It is one of the best tourist places in London. It is a natural attraction and attracts
very high number of tourists every year. It is contributing in the growth of local, regional and national
economy as the revenues that are generated by it for the economic growth is very high. The number of
tourists for this attraction is increasing continuously as the ambiance around the river is very good which
help tourists to enjoy its beautiful view. It is the main reasons why it is very important for the local,
regional and national economy (Pantano and Dennis, 2019).
