EXECUTIVE SUMMARYCulture is followed differently at different places. There are various differences incultures among UK as they are have welcoming nature and they talk to every person with respectand dignity while Germany people are very abrupt, they believe that everything should be rightand they are very effective in there work process. The differences in culture can be describedwith the help of Hofstede model which states that culture can cause communication barriers andthis can affect their abilities to interact with other persons and motivate them to achieve goalsand business objectives. This model is very useful as it helps in removing the differences by sixelements so that persons can perform their working in a planned way. Cross culture training isgiven to people so that they can make themselves aware about various cultures which arefollowed in society and thus, they do not face any difficulty in the future if they had to go andwork at different places. This is a useful tool as it helps in the development of skills andknowledge of individuals and they can adjust themselves at any place.

INTRODUCTIONCulture is described as the social behaviour which are found in human societies. Itconsists of norms, rituals and beliefs which are followed by people in nations like UK, Germanyand China. Every country follows different culture and thus, they have different beliefsaccording to it. It also reflects the way in which employees will be interacting with each other asthey are coming from different cultures. It can be said that cultures are developed according tothe traits which are followed by people. There are various cultural differences seen at workplacesdue to difference in their beliefs but these have to be resolved so that people can work with peaceand harmony (Alvesson and Spicer, 2012). There are various issues that can be identified atworkplace like language difference as people are not able to understand what the other personswant to say, difference in there lifestyle these create major difference at business places. Thisreport is based on joint ventures between HSBC and the bank of China. They have contributedtowards the growth of economy by having second largest share in the world in banking sector. Inthe present report, Hofstedes Model which consists of six elements and issues which have beenfocused by leaders along with the importance of cross culture training and development will bediscussed.TASKBackground of the caseIn this case, there is the joint venture between HSBC with bank of China and they haveagreed to share all their profits which they will receive. This is a useful method in order toexpand their business and provide services to the customers in lending and borrowing money inorder to execute business operations. HSBC will be having 33% of stake in this joint venturewhile the rest part will be divided into two other entities (Pyrczak, 2016.).There is an example of venture between Jaguar Land Rover and Chery auto-mobiles andthese have contributed the largest shares in economy by doing these types of joint venturesprogrammes. The investment in ventures will consist of establishing a new plant in Changshu.There is combined effort put by company in research and development programmes as well as inproduction facility of engine manufacturing. These models are developed in the Chinesemarketplace. This venture will help them to develop new models in cars which are luxury andthese are developed by understanding the needs of Chinese markets so that their demands can1
