INTRODUNCTION:
Management is a procedure of handling and managing business function and activities of
the company to assure the effective working environment of the company. Functions and
activities term advert to the daily working activities of the company to achieve and accomplish
the organisation aims and target. (Burns 2018.)Management team in an company need several
kind of individuals that are categorised and divided on the basis of their responsibilities and roles
in the company. Operational management provide smooth functioning in order to get more
positive and effective results and to grow much effectively.
Aston Martin is a British independent manufacture company of sports car and tourers.
The company was established in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. This report is
going to explain and cater structure and framework for the company and also define about the
several responsibilities and roles of a manager and leaders. This report is also going to define
about several theories of leadership and approaches which is used by an leader in order to work
effectively with positive outcome and also contain various factors and component of business
surroundings that create effects on the process of decision making of leaders and managers in the
company.
Task1
P1: Define and compare the different roles and characteristics of a leader and a manager.
A leader can be defined as a person, who creates an idiomatic expression that influenced
others to follow this expression to achieve the pre decided goals.( Reid and Sanders 2019) In this
way, a manger is defined as a potential person, who manage and control all operational activities
in an organisation like: directing, administrating and controlling etc. in positive manner.
Leadership is about to present a vision in front of others in positive manner that affect
people to understand that vision and encourage them to work with organisation for achieving
goals. Management is about to make sure that things and work related with administration are
happening correct for complete the targets.
Role of leader and manager:
The main role of leaders and managers in an organisation is that, manager is a responsible
person for creating an efficient environment in an organisation, which helps people to work

effectively. Along with this, leader is a person who present an attractive manner of work, which
answer and inspire others that, how to perform in best way by.(Heizer 2016.) In this way, to
make a business successful, managers and leaders are playing their role as a strong or key
personality. The different characteristics and roles of manager and leader are as follows:
Role of manager
Monitoring and Evaluating- The manager of respective organisation can
monitor and evaluate the work performance of employees on daily basis, because
it is the responsibility of manager to check all activities which conduct in
organisation, are making positive impact or not. Monitoring and evaluating also
helps business to create an efficient workplace.
Allocation of resources- manager plays an important role in this manner, they
always work towards achievement, which an organisation decided for success.
(Barnes 2018)It can be said that resources are limited in nature for every
organisation. In this manner, it is the key responsibility of manager to utilise
them optimally.
Role of leader
Set a vision- leaders, always clear their vision to employees by presenting best way of
working which, inspire them to work with the organisation in efficient manner. Leaders
try to set an effective vision, that helps employees to how can they use the limited
resources of business to get success.
Decision-making- it is the most important role of leader, to help an organisation in
decision making. Because the leader of an organisation is aware about everything and
everyone so it will helpful for the organisation to take the decision related with an
employee and particular work form.
Characteristics of manager
Manager is a person, who is able to execute the vision on company.
Manager has an ability to direct all the efforts in positive manner.
Manager can apply rules, standard and many operating procedures to achieve goals.
Manger is the person who focused on people, their requirements and needs at workplace
