INTRODUCTION
Management and operation are two different concepts where management define about
process of decision planning, decision making, organising along with motivating and controlling
the overall managerial related activities. Operation is the procedure of managing work which are
inner working attributes related to business (Farag and et. al., 2020). The both concept of
management and operations are based on transformation within different basis inputs of raw
materials that converted into furnished goods and services. In this situation, company ensure
about overall demand and different requirement of customers must get satisfied in successful
manner. As per the following report, the company is selected Asda Stores Ltd is British
supermarket chain. It is headquartered in Leeds, England. They expanded their business during
1970s and 1980s. The report includes difference between role of leader and function of manager
and its operations of an organisation.

P1. Define and compare the different roles and characteristic of leaders and manager.
Leader: The leader are the ones who are experienced with knowledge and influence
others regarding with their specific goals and working capacity where its having ability that
developed. It reflects individual behaviour where, they could motivate others such that suitable
directions which is provided all thus the completion of goals and objectives become clear and
transparent (Andervazh, Javadi and Aliabadi, 2020). The leader uses different sort of styles in
complex situation in organisation. In perspective of Asda Stores, their leaders have contributed
their skills and knowledge in order to provide better assistance to other employees by which all
targets get accomplished with effective and efficient manner.
Manager: The manager is an individual who measure to control challenges in different
situations under which significant set of activities performed in systematic way. A manager
performs overall responsibilities to motivate employee and provide them resources on which
workforce can better attain outcomes. The manager of Asda Stores, has performed all their duties
