INTRODUCTION
Management is an activity of negotiating and dominating the actions and business
operations of an organisation irrespective of its nature, form or structure and size. Apart from
this, it is an act of framing and maintaining such business environment where each firm can work
together and accomplish the set objective s and aims of the company in improved manner. There
are diverse actions that consist in management like distribution and supply chain management
(Battaïa and et. al., 2018). This assignment is based on Airdri Ltd which is a manufacturer of
warm air and hand dryers. This company has 40 years experiences in the design and production
of warm air and hand dryers. This written document will discuss about different roles and
responsibilities of leaders and mangers for effective understanding of environment. Moreover,
different theories and concepts are c0overed in context of managing and controlling the business
actions. Operation management is effective as this assist in accomplishing business objectives in
proper way.
TASK 1
1. Definitions of roles of management and leadership
Leadership is explained as the capability of an individual or a company to lead a unit of
multitude to a common aim and objective by developing clear vision and providing information
about it to all employees and teammates.
Management is described as an act of conducting and coordinating entire activities and
operations of a company to accomplish the set aims, vision, mission and objectives by the
leadership in set time duration.
According to Rauch & Behling, Leader is an individual who is accountable to motivate
people of a company to accompl9oh the activities of an organised group toward goal
achievement.
According to George R. Terry, Manager is an individual who is in-charge of a team of
individual for executing a specific task within the firm (Carreiro, Jorge and Antunes, 2017). The
person are responsible to devise and frame strategies to accomplish business aims and objectives.
2. Difference between leadership and management functions
Accordant to John Kotter, there are several different between leadership and management
and the explanation of them as below:

A leader is a person who has followers even when they do not inevitably have a title
whereas administrator has to utilise their title to acquire individual to listen them.
Leadership is simply explained as the activity of directing a group of individual whereas
is defined as the activity of administrating and controlling business activities and people
(Correa-Florez, Gerossier and Kariniotakis, 2018).
The main purpose of leadership is to communicate and motivate employees to
accomplish the goal without forcing them to do anything. Whereas the major motive of
management is design strategies so that the employees can accomplish the set business
goals in effective manned in granted time duration.
3. Analysis of the management by objective process discussed by P. Drucker
Management by objectives is an execution administration approach in which a balance is
shout among the verifiable of workforce and the objectives of a company. Accordant to P.
Ducker's , management by objectives is to determine joint objectives and to offer feedback on
the results. There are several conditions that are set by respected anthers and they are consisted
as the process of management by objective. To accomplish business goal, firstly company set
business objectives then provide information about it to employees so that they aware with
them. Next step is monitor, the management should monitor employees execution and provide
them help where they required. In nest phase management and employees meet to discuss that
how well they has met their objective. Finally step is reward performance, in this stage,
employees are rewarded for their good performance and hard work in term of attaining business
aim.
4. Illustrate the three management roles theory H Mintzberg examples
Accordant to H. Mintzberg, roles of administration are explained as under:
Monitor- In this role, the person seek out information connected to company and sector,
looking for relevant changes in the environment (Gerrish and et. al., 2017). Fro example, in
Airdri Ltd, the management of the company can adopt this role and with the help of it they can
identifying the changes that are generating specific industry in which they operating their
business.
Disseminator- It is another role of management, in it the manager communicate
important information to its employees. For instant, in the situation of adopting new technology
