INTRODUCTION
The covid pandemic has huge impact on the working of the organisation. It has lead to
changes in the organisation in various terms for getting back to the normal life and increasing the
profits of the company. The current report will be based on the Tesco, it is a retail store that
provides variety of the products to its customers (Tesco PLC.,2022). The report discusses the
roles of the information and communication technology for achieving the targets of the company
on time, further, it provides for the impact of the ICT on the working of the organisation and the
role of the leaders in improving the functioning of the organisation.
MAIN BODY
1. The roles and impacts of information and communication technology in an organization.
Information and communication has an important role in the modern society. ICT has
improved and changed the way of the communication with each other, how the information is
collected from the competitive environment (Zhang, and et. al 2022). The ICT has a huge impact
on every type of the businesses such as small, medium and large. There is the critical analysis of
the Impact of the information and technology on the social, political, economical factor of the
Tesco
ICT has great impact on the organization in the terms of the social, economical, and
political factor as the external environment of the company is linked with the functioning of the
organization. In the reference of the Tesco, the interaction among the employees has increased
due to the ICT. It has assured the development of the economy of the company as by employing
and adopting various new technologies the Tesco has gained competitive advantages in the
market. This is done by using internet, email facilities and other security of the Tesco.
Liberty of working remotely
Due to the covid pandemic, it has challenged the traditional working model of the
company. With the help of the ICT the employees of the company are now able to work from the
home. As for keeping the employees socially distanced, safe and protected the Tesco has
provided opportunities to its employees to work from home. For those employees who are not
required to work present physically. This has helped in saving the time and efforts of the
company. However, this has some negative impact as well that the employees may not work
effectively and efficiently while working from home.

The technology organization environment framework refers to the way organization
adopts the technological changes in the company (Viana, and et.al 2022). For competing with
the competitors, Tesco has adopted and enhanced its work through the ICT. This model helps in
attaining the overall organizational goals of the Tesco. The company has advanced its technology
for maintaining the management of the company effectively.
The technology acceptance model
This model refers to the situation that helps an individual in accepting the new
technology and how to use that technology for the betterment of the workplace (Schurer, 2022).
This model will have positive impact on the Tesco, as the technological advancement in the
company will help the company to grow and expand its business in the international market.
2. Policies of talent acquisition, learning and development of management and change
management process in the context of Covid-19
Talent acquisition
Talent acquisition refers to the process of acquiring talented and skilled employees to the
workplace, for the performance of the work with the effectiveness (Skaug, 2022). Technological
advancement has helped the Tesco in acquiring the talent from across the world. So that the
company can employ experienced and more skilled staff at its store. This includes recruitment
process of the company. For achieving and attracting the skilled talent the company has made
hiring policies. The breach of which attract the legal liabilities for the company. With the
increase in the use of the technology it has helped in modifying the hiring policy of the company
after the covid pandemic.
Learning and development
It refers to the systematic process of improving and increasing the knowledge and skills
of the persons. The training and development provides a platform for improving the current
management of the company. Tesco focuses on providing training to its employees for increasing
the job satisfaction of the employees and reducing the employees turnover. Due to the pandemic
it was major challenge for the Tesco to overcome this, company has provided training to its
employees through online modes, virtual meetings and many more. Use of the technology has
lead to reduction in the cost of the company.

Change in the management refers to process of implementing changes in the organisation
for improving its functions for the achievement of the organisational goals. After the covid
pandemic the Tesco has implemented the changes in terms of the digitalization of the activities
so that no personal contact of the persons can be followed. This has lead to improvising the work
environment of the company and increased the employees retention rate of the employees.
3. Roles of a leader, in implementing new ideas.
A leader is the person who guides, inspires and influence the working of the team
members of the company for the accomplishment of the objectives (Kimand et. al., 2022). The
Tesco follows democratic form of the leadership style in the organization, that has great impact
on the initiative taken by the company during the pandemic.
Remote working
Under this strategy the company is providing the facility to work from home. So for
motivating and guiding the employees of the company in appropriate manner. The leader is
requires to communicate with the employees about their roles and responsibilities. To implement
this initiative the person is requires to support and implement the remote working in such a way
that it helps in increasing and developing the company.
Contingent work expansion
The uncertainty caused due to the pandemic has resulted in the increase in the
unemployment rate of the country (Cené, and Towns, 2022). As the companies were unable to
maintain the large number of the employees. So it was up-to the leader to maintain and handle
this uncertainty. For this the leader of the Tesco is responsible to act in the fair manner, by
keeping the most deserve employees without discriminating on any grounds. So, that employees
may not feel demotivated. For this the leader has made flexibility in the workforce management.
That has helped in the greater expansion of the company in terms of the economy.
Increase in the organizational complexity
For solving the problems and nationalizing its business around the world, the company id
diversifying its working and making investments in the various markets. The risk involved in the
secondary market is the large and for competing and managing this risk during the pandemic the
leader has to make such decisions that leads to expansion of the business at the global level. By

managing this situation the leaders reflect a positive impact on the employees. That has helped in
increasing the brand image of the Tesco.
4. Recommendations on new initiatives of Tesco
It is recommended that the Tesco, for introducing new initiative in the company should
increase the use of the digitalization in the company. For adapting the changes related to the
new normal after covid effectively. As the most of the companies are digitalizing its work, thus
for competing with its competitors the company should also digitalize its work. As providing its
services and products through online mode will increase the profit margin of the company. The
digitalization will increase the number of the customers and will improve the customer loyalty of
the company.
The company is weak at appreciating its employees, so it is recommended that the
company should increase its appraisal programmes and provide more incentives to its
employees for the performance of the work. That will encourage and motivate them to work hard
for the growth of the company. For improving the work of the employees the company should
provide training for enhancing the skills of the employees.
For increasing the brand awareness of the company, it is recommended that the company
should use social media for promoting the brand of the company. The company should use
Facebook, Instagram and other apps for promoting its products. As social media act as the
effective tool for increasing the revenue generation and the customers of the company. As social
media helps informing the customers about the changes and offers that are provided to the
customers from time to time for increasing the target market of the company.
CONCLUSION
The report concluded that Information and communication technology has provided
many benefits to the company as the company was facing problems due to the Covid pandemic.
This era has provided many models and changes in the management to deal with the
requirements of the company and for improving the performance of the company. For this the
leaders also plays a significant role in the organization. Further, the report provides for the
various recommendations for introducing the initiatives in the organization.
