Smith and Oczkowski (2015) in the article entitled “Modelling the reasons for the use of
vocational training in Australian enterprises” attempts a discussion on the reasons that are cited
by the employers in the Australian territorial boundaries in relation to training of the employees
who have been serving the concerned companies that are active within the Australian markets.
The following paper attempts a discussion on the major factors that are discussed within the
given article. The paper further reflects on the challenges that were faced while understanding
and analyzing the article.
The article in discussion, “Modelling the reasons for the use of vocational training in
Australian enterprises” by Smith and Oczkowski (2015) sheds light on the various reasons for
providing the training to the employees of the several business organizations within the
organization. The article opened with the review of the literature that is required for the
discussion on the issues that might help in the selection of the various types of the training that
the concerned employees are offered by the human resource department of the concerned
business organization. The article opines that there are three broad divisions under which the
reasons for training the employees can be grouped. The paper attempts to discuss the various
factors that help concerned managers to decide on the need for the training that are offered to the
staff of the organization (Smith & Oczkowski, 2015). The article helps the readers to gain better
knowledge on the need for conducting the training process for the employees of the organization.
The article helps the readers gain knowledge on the various types of processes that are used by
the employers in order to deal with the employees who have been recruited at the several
business organizations that are functional within the Australian territory (Smith & Oczkowski,
2015). The given article aims at the improvement of the approaches that are undertaken by the
employers in order to develop a workforce that is capable of delivering the best of their
