INTRODUCTION
Project management is the planning of guiding a team's work at a given period to
accomplish objectives and fulfil the success criteria. The project manager's main aim is to maintain
all the project goals inside the defined circumstances. Typically, this detail is defined in the project
report which was generated at the beginning of the construction process (Andersen, 2016). This
assessment based on the case study of Royale Pizza was founded in 2007 and offer a variety of
foods and other related services. This assessment covers the renovation project of Royale Pizza to
expand its customers reach as well as profitability. This report covers several topics such as
implementation plan which cover all the necessary information, monitoring, execution and closer
phase of project management to get the success in this project.
MAIN BODY
1. Implementation plan
Royale Pizza was founded in 2007 by a businessman with over 20 years of experience
throughout the foodservice sector. Royale Pizza is associated with high quality and traditional taste
of Italian pizzas, and now they deliver 40 types of a foodie and famous pizza. The shop is situated
on one of Melbourne CBD’s busiest roads, near the Southern Cross Station. The main renovation
project involves the work related to flooring, air conditioning construction, dust-free lighting,
improved compressor capacity and skilled kitchen exhaust cleaning. Machinery will include buying
3 fryers, 2 heating systems, 1 dough roller, point - of - sale machine with proper software and
hardware to power it.
Management structure: In order to the successful implementation of the project plan, the
organization should have a matrix organizational structure. A project manager should have enough
power to maintain the project and direct their team members about the task which required
completing on time. The staff members report into two supervisors in a matrix organisation and one
is a functional manager and another is the project manager. Information occurs from the two
managers to the team leaders (Daniel and Daniel, 2018). The matrix organization is generated to
achieve the maximum value from the organizational culture of both functional and predicted form.
Departmental work is performed by staff members, and they also perform a project task. Project
manager of Royale Pizza should follow this matrix management structure and hold the entire power
under their hand and build a separate team for it, who works under this renovation project. It will
help them to control the entire activities and at the end, the project manager is separately
accountable for it.
Levels of authorities

From the case study, it is evident that the level of autonomy is prevalent. It is solely the decision of
the entrepreneurs and the other up-level management staff to take up decisions regarding the
renovation of the shop. The shop had been operated and managed by the owners all these years and
they focused strongly on the aspects of gaining profit by delivering quality pizzas that are
affordable and tasty. Recently, the shop owners decided to renovate the shop in order to diversify
the business and focus on zero-waste business. Thus, it is the upper management as the decision-
maker and the decisions are based on the reports provided by the other departments.
Level of authorities-
Top- The top-level authority exists at the highest level in an organization. It is required
because it leads to control of activities. It is present in Royale Pizza where it is controlled by higher
managers.
Middle- The middle-level authority is present in the middle level in a company. It acts as a
bridge between top and lower-level management. It is present in Royale Pizza and helps in getting
instructions from top and implementing it in the lower-level management.
Supervisory- The supervisory-level authority is present in the lower level in an
organization. It is present in Royale Pizza and helps in getting the work done from the subordinates.
Style and culture: In this element, the project manager should follow the best management
style to motivate their employees or team members to achieve project requirements. It is suggested
that the democratic leadership style is most appropriate but when managers want to complete any
task before deadline along with the quality, that time autocratic leadership style is most favourable
to adopt. Authoritative leaders encourage a dynamic sense of creativity and passion for the project.
Experts also claimed that "the ultimate leader is a revolutionary who inspires people by telling them
how the work blends into this dream," which will be true for every project.
Autocratic leadership style- Autocratic leadership style is a style in which the managers
ascertain their autocracy in the organization by taking decisions by themselves.
Strength- This style leads to faster decision-making within an organization and therefore
can help in taking the correct decision.
Weakness- This leads to autocracy and the subordinates may feel that they are not given
due importance in the organization.
