INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is all about exchange of goods and services across the international
platform for generating large amount of profit by satisfying needs of domestic as well foreign
clients. However, various business enterprises are emerging at global platform which resultant
into increase of trade, workforce migration, emergence of international brands, and expansion of
foreign direct investment and maximization of competition. Starbucks is a most successful coffee
chain who is having number of branches across the international boundaries by offering
qualitative products to desired consumers (Ali and Shukran, 2016). In fact, this association have
engaged in various projects throughout the nation in order to generate maximum revenue.
Therefore, this assignment is going to highlight the aims and objectives of large project which is
handled by Starbucks. Along with this, an effective project management plan is also further
outlined in the report for understanding the various factors related with handling of successful
project. Moreover, various methods of data accumulation are further explained from which one
of the appropriate methods will be selected for acquiring some primary information.

P1 Aims and objectives
Globalisation is an appropriate procedure of communication and integration between
individuals, organizations and governing bodies worldwide. In fact, advancement in
transportation services and creative techniques of interaction aids in promoting globalisation
across the marketplace. Economically, this term means that exchange of goods and services or
export and import of products across the globe for generating large amount of revenue by
satisfying customer needs and demand (Alotaibi and Liu, 2014). In fact, business with foreign
companies is very much beneficial for domestic associations in various manners such as; profit
maximization, emergence of large options for customers, sometime it leads to into political
instability also, enhance the performance of an organization and many more. At the same time,
Starbucks is also expanded their business in various nations and offer their products to domestic
as well as foreign clients in order to maintain long distance relationship with users. As a result,
company is getting succeeded in establishing their positive image at marketplace by satisfying
desires of various societies. Thus, now company wanted to launch more new projects for gaining
competitive advantage at international market by coming up with creative coffee which consist

of totally unique flavourings. For example;couples demand coffee with heart flavourings for
their partners, special coffee on birthday, anniversaries and many more. At the same time it has
been understood that implementation of new project is affected by various internal and external
factors. Due to which it is essential for an organization to design their concise aims and
objectives for assisting employees of company towards set targets (Crane and Matten, 2016).
However, impressive aims and objectives of an is discussed as follows-

P2 Project management plan
Management of project is not an easy task because fluctuation in single factor affects the
success of an organization in various manners. In fact, Starbucks have influenced by changes in
internal and external factors due to which managers of an organization decided to make proper
plans by considering necessary elements (Drucker, 2017). Therefore, planning is a part of project
management strategy because this will help in minimizing the probabilities of risk and mistake
also which might affect the success of project. Basically, a successful assignment covers all the
elements such as; cost, scope, quality, resources, time, communication and risk during

management because this will help in directing employees towards their set objectives and
targets. For example; foremost motive of Starbucks through this project is to encourage positive
cultural globalisation for gaining its marketing objectives by seeking attention of distinct culture
people in order to maximize the sales performance (Kim and Min, 2015). Apart from this, by
designing or making plans for project manager of Starbucks can easily assist their employees
towards set target. Therefore, various factors which is a part of project management plan is
discussed as follows-
Scope-Positive cultural globalisation is having a very wider scope due to the involvement
of large number of people who are belongs from distinct languages, religions, beliefs, norms,
society, and background and so on. This means, that Starbucks have to consider number of
elements while attaining their set objectives of maximizing sales revenue with the help of
positive cultural globalisation. Basically, company have to design their plans for conducting
programmes of togetherness at public place in order to attract customers of distinct backgrounds.
Apart from this, there are various other aspects are also there which must be consider by
Starbucks while handling the project of cultural globalisation
Cost- Capital is seen as most indispensable aspect for company while running their
business and during handling a large project of Starbucks because number of activities are
incurred during this process such as; advertisement, planning, staffing of desired employees,
resources, miscellaneous activities and many more (Larson and Chang, 2016). Apart from this,
Starbucks is a leading enterprise due to which company is also conscious about their image at
marketplace due to which they need to consider necessary elements before launching a new
project. Therefore, for accomplishing all the activities in proper manner, company must have
reserved funds for managing all the business operations in suitable style. Forecasted amount for
completing this project is almost 9000GBP and classification of this fund is described as follows-

Time-This factor is concerned about the duration in which all the activities of project is
going to accomplished and set for encouraging employees towards their set targets in a defined
time frame (Maylor, Blackmon and Huemann, 2016). Mainly, time is all about managing
business operations in a specific duration by considering necessary facts or figures such as;
Starbucks have set a time of almost 9-10 months for completing this entire project in perfect
manner. In fact, positive cultural globalisation have a major influence on marketing activities
because world is full of distinct people who are different from each other in various manner.
Quality- Assessment of product quality is really indispensable for the Starbucks because it helps
in providing better services to its customers. As people are becoming more hygienic in terms of
food and beverage so, it becomes prime responsibility of companies to serve products that are
good in terms of taste and health.
P3 Gantt Chart and Work Breakdown structure
Work Breakdown Structure: WBS chart is mostly used by company in order to
organise entire activities in manageable sections so that work can be done in a systematic manner
without much chaos. Therefore, it can be said that a work breakdown structure provides a outline
for a specific project.
Gantt Chart: It is denoted in horizontal bar chart that provides a graphical
representation of schedule so that the process of planning, coordinating and other activities can
be made possible (Gantt Char, 2018). It contains a horizontal axis that shows total time span
which a project will take in order to get completed.
Therefore, both WBS and Gantt chart plays a crucial role in making an effective project
plan so that on the basis of this project can be completed in timely manner.

P4 Carrying out the task with the use of Qualitative and quantitative research methods
Quantitative: It is considered as the systematic methodology of research in which information is
gathered in the form numerical data. This method is beneficial for researcher as it helps them in
evaluating overall information according to exact facts and figures (Pearlson, Saunders and
Galletta, 2016).
Qualitative: This type of research methodology mainly does not include any numerical
values or statistical figures. Researcher often uses languages, pictures and observation for
analysing actual details which contributes in the achievement of desired outcome.
Primary method: This research method refers to the way in which researcher directly
gathers data from people and customers. In this methodology, researcher believes in collecting
information by personally meeting to them. It has been analysed that data which is gathered from
this method is true and relevant that is purely authentic and contributes in the achievement of
desired research outcome. Primary research method includes varieties of sources such as
observation, focus group, questionnaire, interviews, field trail, etc. It can be said that this type of
method is time consuming but provides valuable result to researcher which is satisfactory for
their project as well.
Secondary method: This method of data collection is generally based on collecting information
on particular topic from various sources like articles, books, journals etc. It can be said that
researcher basically collects information from work of someone else which is executed by them
in past. As per the evaluation, it has been analysed that researchers adopts this methodologies
when they wants to collect information within the limited timeframe. As a result, it saves time
and money of the researcher both. This saved time can be utilised by the researcher in some other
core areas (Pekuri and et. al., 2014).

Interpretation: Globalisation has played a crucial role for companies in terms of
expanding its business in different areas. This is one of the reasons that Starbucks is so much
popular that people love to have the products whether it coffee or other items. Therefore, with
the help of the above mentioned graph it has been evaluated that according to 6 respondents out
of 30 they are saying that they often go to coffee shop once in a week. Whereas other 6 and 8
respondents said that they visit coffee shop 2 and 3 times in a week respectively. On the other
hand most of the respondents i.e. 8 confront that they more than or every day prefer going to
coffee shop in a week.

Interpretation: Drinking coffee is what people believe in releasing pressure or taking a
break. Therefore, from the above mentioned pie chart it can be evaluated according to 12
respondents out of 30 which is highest as compared to others and they are saying that in a day
they often have coffee 2-3 times a day and mostly prefer to have coffee of Starbucks. Whereas 8
of them are saying that they shave coffee 4-5 times a day which relaxes their minds. On the other
hand 5 of the respondents have chosen the option 5-6 which means in a day they have
approximately this much cup of coffee and lastly, rest of the 5 answerers have gone with the
option unexpected and this shows that they doesn’t know how many cup of coffee they have in a
day.

of factors like interiors design, team spirit, marketing technique, its representation and some
other unspecified factors which influences customers towards a coffee shop. It has been
identified that approximately 8 customers have stated that visits a coffee shop on the basis of its
hygiene level or interior designing. Whereas, 5 of them gives importance to its representation, 12
people are attracted to the marketing techniques and 3 of them stated that team spirit is the only
reason which attracts them towards coffee shop. It is has been evaluated that remaining 3
respondents have said they have their personal reason which influences them towards the coffee
shops.

of different people whereas other 6 respondent are not agreeing with the fact as they said “No”.
P6 Appropriate recommendations
As per the above stated research, it has been analysed that globalisation has improved
performance of business organisation at international level. In relation to Starbucks, it is
recommended to the company to add few more flavours in their coffees like adding flavour of
fruits and juices in coffees. This will help company in enhancing its number of customers with
the new but healthy flavours (Peters, Blohm and Leimeister, 2015). Along with this, another
suggestion for Starbucks to modify its pricing range according to operating country. It can be
said this modified price is required to finalised ion the basis of disposable income of customers.
As a result, it will help organisation in gaining competitive advantage at global level which is
beneficial for them in enhancement of customer’s satisfaction level. In addition to this, last but

not the list, another suggestion for Starbucks is offer some kind of hot drinks in winter like hot
shakes, melted chocolates as a kind of dessert that becomes attractive topic for customers to
remain loyal with the same company for longer duration of time. This will contribute in the
growth and development of country.
TASK 4
P7 Reflection
While doing a research there are many problems that can be faced by a researcher. The
common issue which is faced by most of the investigator are time and cost limitation. Thus,
while doing this research I was having shortage of time because of which I had to take limited
number of respondents i.e. 50 and according to me this was little less. Therefore, I divided the
entire task into sections so that entire research can be accomplished in an appropriate manner. In
addition to this, I was having less funds which constraints me from doing primary research in a
better way.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it has been summarized that globalization is very much beneficial
for company success and development because this helps in maintaining positive relations with
foreign multinational organization. Apart from this, large number of benefits are also identified
such as; increase in competition encourage small enterprises to come up with creative concepts,
offer new trends, large number of alternative options for customers. Throughout the analysis, it
has been understood that handling of global project is not that much easy because there is an
involvement of various factors which are controlled by employees and employers. Therefore, an
association needs to make an appropriate plan for handling large business project in order to
minimize the possibilities of risk. Hence, all the process of managing organizational assignment
is covered in the above report for attaining set targets in a defined time frame.
