Title: What types of strategies and initiatives does Adidas put in place to build a diverse
and inclusive workforce?
1. INTRODUCTION
Equality and diversity plays an effective role in the workplace such that it helps to attain
company's goals. In the same way, current research report also provides list of strategies that is
used by the firm to develop inclusive workforce. The chosen firm is Adidas which deals in retail
firm and provides shows and clothing to their customers.
Background: the research helps to provide deep understanding of role of inclusive
workforce at working area. Further, the study describe different strategies that is related to
equality and diversity at Adidas so that the firm may attain define aim and objectives.
Rationale: The rationale for choosing the particular topic is such that researcher have
their own interest to study on it so that it will help to enhance current knowledge and skills
which will further used in their future. On the other side, may be university assign a researcher to
study on this because having a diverse workforce will helps to attain the company's aim and
objectives in better way.
Research aim: “to analysis different strategies and initiatives that adopted by the firm to build
diverse and inclusive workforce: A case study on Adidas
Objectives:
To identify the concept of equality and diversity.
To ascertain different strategies adopted by Adidas to build diverse workforce.
To determine the impact of having inclusive workforce at Adidas.

What are different strategies adopted by Adidas to build diverse workforce?
2. Literature Review
Adidas strategies and initiatives
As per the view of Klarsfeld and et.al., (2016) Adidas recruit both men and women
because the firm did not discriminate on the basis of gender and caste. Further, company did not
follow the top down approach and as a result, from senior leaders to front-line employees, most
of the individuals understand their own roles and responsibilities that helps to maintain positive
working place within a firm. On the other side, Thompson, (2016) stated that Adidas also

develop strategies to maximize joy and connection and as a result, it minimize fear that helps to
encourage people working in the inclusive environment. Further, having an effective leadership
strategy will also help to develop inclusive workforce within the working area. Even it is also
analysed that the Adidas recruit women such that 32 percent of the women in leadership and it
also promotes employees of all ages and life stage. Such that, employees of the company also
states that there is a global culture of plurality where all the point of views are valid and this
helps the firm to attain aim and objectives.
Equality
According to Bowl, (2018) equality is not only to treat everyone the same and it is all
about treating people in such a way that helps to attain the same results for each group.
Therefore, it means that putting the things in same place that helps to support people so that they
may attain common outcomes. On the other side, Thomas, (2019) stated that if the person
belongs to minority background then it the duty of manager to develop the activities in which
they involve those people so that they will be comfortable within the working area. If they did
not get proper support then usually the results are exclusion. Even from the manager side, make
sure that there is a affirmative message should be communicated from the youth space so that
they will also know that diversity and difference is valued.
In addition to this, Finnis, (2016) stated that equality is all about to make sure that
individuals and groups are not treated differently or the management should not be bias on any
basis of gender, caste and religion. Therefore, Adidas in the same way also ensures that treating
all staff and students in fair manner and create an inclusive culture for all staff so that they
happily live in the organization.
Diversity
As per the view of Moore and Tailby, (2015) diversity main aim is to recognise, respect
and value the people's difference so that it will help to leads towards inclusive culture for all the
staff members as well as individuals. It is little bit different concept from equality and that is
why, it is the reality that is created by the groups from broad spectrum of demographics and
unemotional difference. Thus, it means that diversity is more than just acknowledging or
tolerating the differences.
