P1 Preparing aims and objectives
Tesco is one of the leading retail firm in the UK and currently it is operating in the multiple
nations of the world and due to this reason have diverse workforce. One of major problem
associated with diverse workforce is that people belong to different culture and have different
thoughts. Just because of this productivity hamper. Thus, in order to solve this problem research
is carried out and aim objective in respect to it is given below.
Aim: To identify factors affecting gender pay gape in incorporating equality and diversity at the
workplace.
Objective
 To identify factors that bring inequality among employees.
 To identify impact of Gender pay gape in the organization.
 To find out ways that can be adopted to promote gender pay gape in incorporating
equality at the workplace.
P2 Preparing a project management plan covering cost, scope, time, quality,
communication, risk and resources
Project is carried out on large scale and due to this reason varied factors need to be taken in
to account like cost, scope, time, quality, communication, risk and resources associated with the
project. Budget: It is the one of the main factor need to be taken in to account in respect to
project. Cost of project will be low as one need to travel and meet to Tesco employees for
data collection. Relevant literature will be taken from internet for review purpose. For
data processing Excel will be used and due to this reason cost of carrying out current
project will be low. Scope: Scope of the project will be high and specific as main focus is on to find out the
result of the research. It will help the Tesco in understanding the impact of gender pay
gape in the organization.

 Time: One-month time will be taken to complete the project as data collection process
will be time consuming. First of all, contact need to be established with relevant
employees and those who fit suitable for research work will be selected for research
purpose. Thereafter, few days will be taken by the sample unit to fill questionnaire form.
Finally, data gathered will be analysed and, in this way, entire research work will be
carried out. It can be said that current research task is time consuming process. Communication: In order to communicate with the sample units contact will be
established with the manager of Tesco branch. Research objective will be communicated
to the manager of the business firm so that permission can be obtained about carrying our
research work and obtaining data from the respondents. Finding of the research will be
communicated with the help of the different media such as email in a hard copy. Soft
copy will be communicate with the help of the post. Risk: One of the major risk associated with the current project is that cost may increase
and project may delay. This is because contact need to be established with the employees
worked at Tesco and then they will fill form which may take time. Moreover, there is
possibility that to some extent answer may be wrong on some questions. Hence, editing
will be needed on some points.
 Resources: Limited resources will be required to complete the project.

P4 Research methodology
In order to carry out research some of the parameters need to be taken into consideration.
Research methodology sections are described below. Research type: In the present research study qualitative research will be carried out and,
in this regard, thematic analysis method will be used to analyse the data set obtained from
the respondents (Mackey and Gass, 2015). This research will be conducted with the help
of the data collected with the help of the secondary data and primary data and interpreting
them with the help of graph and table to present the data in better way in front of viewer. Research design: There are three type of research designs namely exploratory,
descriptive and experimental. Exploratory research design is used in case one has basic
information about research topic but want to investigate about it more (Mackey and Gass,
2015). Descriptive research design fit best to the researcher when he already has
knowledge of the research topic at advance level and experimental is used when research
carried is scientific in nature. In present condition, descriptive research design is used so
as to develop strong knowledge of research topic. As scholar is having the knowledge
about gender pay gape in the past. Research philosophy: In present research study interpretivism philosophy will be used
because present research study is not scientific in nature. Important point to note is that
positivism philosophy is always used in case research is scientific in nature (Flick, 2015).
In current study data will be gathered on equality and diversity at workplace which is not
scientific and due to this reason interpretivism philosophy will be used.
 Research approach: There are two types of philosophy in the research namely inductive
and deductive. In case of deductive approach there is theory and researcher make an
attempt to identify whether that theory really exist (Bresler and Stake, 2017). On other
hand, there is inductive approach and under this on basis of analysis of data theory is
prepared. In present research deductive philosophy will be taken into account the reason
behind the same is that the research used to look at the gender pay gap which has
different impact. So deductive approach will help in making new theory out of data
gather.
 Sampling: Probabilistic and non-probabilistic are the two type of the sampling which can
be used by scholar (Flick, 2015).. Scholar has used stratified technique under the simple

random sampling technique because this research dealt with gender pay gap. 20
employees are selected as a respondent.
 Data collection: Data has been collected with the help of both primary and secondary
data collection tool. Primary data will be collected with the help of conducting the survey
on the basis of the questionnaire, which will include both open ended as well as the close
ended question to bring best out of the respondent. Secondary Data will be collected with
the help of the different books and journal related to topic of the research that is gender
pay gape. Also, will take help of magazines (Mackey and Gass, 2015)
 Data analysis: Scholar has used thematic data analysis tool to analysis the data which
has been collected with the help of the primary and secondary data collection tool. In
which the data will be presented in the different graph and table to be easier to understand
(Flick, 2015)...
 Ethical consideration: Scholar has taken the consent of all the respondent beforehand it
self. Also high degree of confidentiality has been maintain in regarding to the data
(Bresler and Stake, 2017)..
 Limitations: The biggest limitation of the research was that the time provided was not
enough to complete the research but with the help of the team and colleague I am able to
complete on time (Mackey and Gass, 2015)...

INTERPRETATION: After going through the data collected it has been interpreted that almost
all the respondent are having the knowledge about the concept of gender pay gape. As out of the
pool of 20 respondent 17 are having the knowledge of gender pay gape and only 3 are against the
opinion of the same. So it can be said that it is very necessary for the organization to reduce the
gender pay gape at the workplace.

INTERPRETATION: After going through the data collected it can be analysed that gender pay
gape used to have the variety of the obstacles for the respondent as out of the total pool of 20
respondent 15 respondent are having the opinion that gender pay gape used to think that Men
cultural business, Time flexibility of women and Responsibility of women are the all the three
thing which used to be big obstacles for the business in reducing the gender pay gape.

INTERPRETATION: After going through the above report it has been analysed that gender
pay gape at the workplace used to play a crucial role in retaining the employee in the
organization. As out of the total pool of 20 employee 18 are in the favour that employee always
desire a reduce amount of gender pay gape at the workplace where they are working. Only 2
respondent are against it as they have opt for no option.

INTERPRETATION: After going through the report it has been analysed that people are
confused in choosing the best strategy available to reduce the gender pay gap in the organization.
As out of the total pool of 20 respondent 9 are having the opinion that Transparency of salary
help the company in getting the best result. 9 are having the thought that there are more than one
strategy through which gender pay gap can be reduce in the organization as they have chosen the
option of all of above.

INTERPRETATION: After going through the above data it has been interpreted that one of the
most important benefit which is brought by the equality and diversity at the workplace is that it
help in retaining the employee in the organization. As out of the total pool of 20 employee 12
have chosen retaining the best employee. Other than that 3 has chosen Increase in productivity, 1
has chosen Increase in goodwill and 4 has chosen All of the above.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
After going through the above report it has been summarized that equality and diversity used to
bring the variety of the benefit, the most important benefit is employee retention. So it has been
recommended that there should be clarity of thought and good working environment in the
organization to retain the employee in the organization.
After that it has been also summarized that Involving employees in decision making process is
strategy which can be used to improving the level of equality and the diversity in the
organization. Leader at Tesco has to make sure that they used to take the suggestion of the
employee on regular interval and on the basis of the same different decision are taken in the
organization.
