INTRODUCTION
The managing accommodation services include the adequate balance in between the
different accommodation that gets provided by the service provider in proper and appropriate
manner. It will enable the accurate establishments of the company by managing the overall
programmes by which the standardised outcomes get achieved and in this the cleanliness will
maintained; prompt implementation of budget, maintenance, better accomplishment of daily
activities(Abed, 2019). Managing of accommodation includes in both private and public sector
by establishment by conference centres, hotels, cruise ships, hospitals, housing association etc.
The accommodation services will be provided to the customer in order to fulfil the basic and
additional need as well demand too. It is even more useful to the travellers as they didn’t have
much information regarding the certain places and thus they get perfect place to stay in
satisfactory manner. This report is based on the South Lodge hotel that is based in UK and was
founded by 1985 and its founder is James Hodges. This report includes the key roles found in
housekeeping, importance of linen stock, importance of interrelationship between housekeeping
and other department and scheduling maintenance. In addition to this includes the importance of
security in an organisation.

The housekeeping department is more essential part of the business as it manages the
different operation of the hotel as like the aesthetics maintenance of rooms, maintenance,
cleanliness, infrastructure, free areas, back areas, surrounds and many others as well. It is the
department that plays the vital role and with its working performance and abilities the different
values and belief of the business will easily get transferred to the customers (Al-Aomar, 2019).
The housekeeping department plays the different roles and function and have posses the positive
experience. The accommodation services of the hotel have work with the aim and vision to
provide the most attractive and quality services to the guest and in addition provide more
hygiene, cleanliness, comfort and suitable services to the visitors. The South Lodge hotel also
has worked with the attractive services with better surround by maintain the sanitization and with
this they have gain continuous success and development. The housekeeping department plays
more function and having vital role within the organisation and that all are as described below as:

Housekeeping duties: The housekeeping department has played the different roles and
responsibilities that are as explained below as:
 Make furniture and infrastructure more cleanly by doing polishing and dusting with more
wellness (Bigby, 2019).
 Sanitising and cleaning of the toilets, countertop, sinks, shower, and bathtubs to make
everything free from germs.
 Maintain more cleanliness in the kitchen area and ensure sanitary utensils and
equipments.
 Making of the bed and changing the linen on timely basis.
 Washing of the windows and floors thus seems more clean and free from dust.
 Have clean the carpets and the rugs and also did the vacuuming as well.
 Mopping, sweeping and polishing of the hard floors.
 Keeping the glass surfaces and mirror clean on daily basis or twice in a day.
 Make the report about the necessary machinery, equipments and manage the
replacements.
 The trashing of the emptying receptacle and disposing of the wastage on timely manner
