INTRODUCTION
Accommodation is the place or the room where the people used to live or stay. There are
different type of accommodation such as presentation and setting off schedules that can help in
providing accommodation services(Khalifa and et. al.,2020). In relation to hospitality industry,
accommodation services playing important role as it is the term which is used for the room in the
hospitality industry like hotel resort etc. Intercontinental hotel group is the choose an
organisation for this report. It is the multinational company that deal with the hospitality industry
and is the British famous company which is in establish in Denham, England. This report will
analyse the various accommodation services related to the hospitality industry and also explain
the various ownership structure and also explain the role of front office department and also
determine the importance of security of the organisation.

Front office is the backbone for any organisation as front office associate is the world who
meet the guest at the entrance of the hotel. It is considered as a reception India where the visitors

consideration is to generate higher profitability my offer in best services. With the help of this
department, hotel can create the the effective impact on the guest experience by offering room
and other services according to the guest expectation and also responsible for clearing their
queries. There are numbers function of front office department are explained below:
Front office is responsible for the welcoming and greeting of the guest and introduce with
the various services of the hotel.
They are also responsible for maintaining records of the customers.
It also provide housekeeping services by having effective coordination with them.
It also address the various requirements of their guest so that they can have comfortable
stay.
Front office also concern with the reservation allotment and check in & check out of the

Guest Registration- it is the basic role of front office department is 2 registered the name
of the guest and also include the various generated activities like check-in rent of room,
assigning of room, welcoming of the guest which create a positive impact in the mind of
the guest. In context to intercontinental hotel, they are concerned about various

internally. People ask their queries regarding the hotel services and front office associate
is responsible for answering for their calls.
Inquiry- It is the department which is responsible for satisfying the the various queries
and enquiry off the guest by answering them in an effective manner and also influence
them to visit the hotel.
Finance & Foreign Exchange - front office department is also related to the hotel

supply and guest supply in order to meet the demand of their potential customers. In context to

on effective security system in order to satisfy their guest. In context to intercontinental hotel,
few points are are discussed below:
Staff member of the hotel have to be aware about their responsibility so that they can
contribute in the security of hotel.
Security manager must ensure that all the security system is fit for satisfaction of the
customer.
Security manager must track all the records and documents.
Security also help in saving the assets of the company and also establish effective
security system which can protect the belongings and other stuff of the customer.
Hotel must be concerned about the use of cctv cameras on 24 hour basis so that they can
see the operations in the premises.
Security guard of the hotel must be aware about the unusual illegal for danger activity
happening in the hotel.

as it is the important part of the hospitality industry which help in retaining and attracting their
target customers. This report discussed the size and scale of the hospitality industry and also
evaluate the ownership structure which is followed by the hospitality organisation. Most of the
individuals use franchise ownership or private ownership. It also examined the importance of
grading classification and online review system of the hotel. Moreover, this report also explain
the role of front office department and housekeeping department and also analyse the
interrelationship of housekeeping department with the other unit of the hotel. It also explain the
importance of maintenance and repair one and identify security system which is essential for the
guest perspective as well as hotel perspective in the development of hospitality industry.
