INTRODUCTION
The growth and changes coming in food and beverages industry play a crucial part for the
managers of the industry to re-formulate various strategies of business. In the following report
there are a number of business functions which are a part of food and beverage industry
including all the different trends and changes taking place in this industry (Cousins and et. al.,
2019). Also includes the rating system used by different organisations. Various skills which are
necessary for every individual to perform work in this industry in a better way or also mentioned.
There are a number of discussions about different legal necessities which an organisation needs
to consider while the deal in food and beverage operations in their business.

P1 Various business in food and beverage industry
Food and beverage industry consist of different sectors which helps the business and
earning profits and revenues and growing in the marketplace. The major objective of this
industry is to fulfil the requirements of all the customers of the company. Various sector plays in
important role in functioning of this industry which are mentioned below:
Food and beverages: This is the most important sector which have attention of large
number of customers, Travelers and tourist. There are different food products available in
various catering facilities, outlets and hotels. The services included in this sector are quality
food, catering services facility, dining in and so on (Bloom and et. al., 2020).
Accommodation and lodging facilities: These can be considered as division of hotels,
lodges and so on. The hospitality sector includes providing their customers with complimentary
breakfast, luxurious facilities regarding food and drinks and also a good atmosphere. This helps
the organisation in providing the customers with the luxurious experience and making you stay
with them more comfortable and fulfilling. This also helps companies in getting positive
feedback from their customers and also making them loyal for re-visiting the premises.
Entertainment: Entertainment industry majorly includes food and beverage industry also.
It is necessary to attract the customers and Guest to words the outlets which provide food and
beverages. This also provide a differentiation advantage to the entertainment industry and helps
the business in gaining various benefit over its competitors. Food and beverages are often seen
serving in entertainment industry such as games, clubbing, cruise and so on (Hirschberg, 2019).

P2 Various systems of ratings used for food and beverages industry
Various number of rating systems are present for food and beverage industry which can be
just domestically and internationally. Some of those are mentioned below:
One star: In the following system various hotels are in corporate it which concludes only
basic necessity provided by the customer. There are no more amenities or facilities for the
customer in the Hotel other than a bed a washroom and basic requirements of the customer. It is
usually preferred by the middle class families or customer segment who cannot afford luxury and
also have very limited income for consumption of these services (Montgomery and et. al., 2019).
Two star: they are similar to the one star facilities however they have some extra services
when compare to one star. They provide bed and accommodation along with which there are
some extra services such as phone, television or also a restaurant for food and beverages. This
also me include housekeeping services by the hotels for the customers.
Three star: these are more better than the other two and provide a luxurious and
comfortable stay for their customers. They have a number of services such as conference room,
wallet service, restaurants of different cuisines, fitness centre, conference room and so on. The
room is provided by these hotels are larger in size and also, they have various technologies
incorporated in them
Four star: They are superior and luxurious hotel which have first classed services for all
their customers. They have premium kind of furnishing and facilities which are available for
their customers. The interiors of rooms are magnificent and also, they provide various products
and services in bathing areas. The bedding and restaurant services are lavish in such hotels
(Furtado and et. al., 2020).
Five Star: there are categorised as the most luxurious and female class hotels while
providing services to their customers. There only for the high-class customers who have
maximum consumption level and income level. There are a number of facilities such as clubs,
Wi-Fi, spa, fitness centre, swimming pool and so on. Day provide their customers with all their
basic and luxurious requirements and needs. Customer satisfaction is major objective of such
hotel so that they can effectively stay in the competition in market to retain their star rating.
With the help of this rating customers can easily choose the premises according to their
needs, budget, experience and expectations of facilities.
