Food and beverage industry are growing because the restaurants and food outlets are using the new technology for improving the quality of the foodwhichareprovidedtothecustomers.Itisalsodiscussingaboutthedifferent technology used by the outlets for improving the food quality. Customers are giving the rating to the food and the restaurants depending upon the services provided by the food and beverage industry. The laws and the rules which are levied on the food and beverage industry are discussed in the report as well. The factors which are affecting the consumer buying decision and the strategies used by the restaurant of attracting the customers are discussed in the report as well. LO1 P1) Different types of the business in food and beverage industry The food and beverage industry are growing by the time and the business is growing in the food and beverage industry as well. It would also include the services provide to the customers in the form of food and beverages. Catering:The food and beverages industry is increasing because of the food and beverages services. The catering business is growing because of the customers are arranging the business parties and the parties are also arranged in the form of the birthday parties as well. Catering services include the full service sin the parties like the food services drinking services and it also include the fast food as well (Valta, and et.al., 2015). Restaurants:restaurant include the services of the food and beverages. These services also include the parking facilities and the other services which are attracting the customers towards the restaurants. These would also provide the food in the home delivery and the also food is ordered by the customers through the mobile application as well. Food trucks: food trucks are new but these food trucks are attracting the customers towards itself because it would have great quality and food is prepared in front of the customers. The food preparing techniques is also attracting the customers towards the food trucks. Food trucks are trending nowadays and the most important thing is we get all sorts of food here.
Cafes:The cafes are providing the food services which include the extra services like the interior of the cafes and the parking facilities and the taste of the food as well. It is providing the food like the Italian, Chinese and the fast food. It is not the providing the full meal which would be ned ed to the customers at the time of the dinner and lunch but the taste and quality of the food is indeed very good. P2) Different rating systems used in food and beverage industry Food safety is the issue which is prime motive for the customers and the restaurant. The customers are giving their reviews and the feedback to the restaurants in the way of the ratings. The unhygienic food is dangerous for the health of the customers and it is affecting the health of the customers as well. The ratings are given in the form of the stars and it is described below: One-star rating:The one-star rating is given by the customers to the restaurants which are providing the bad services and the bad quality of the food. The customers are giving the ratings when the customer needs are not satisfied by the restaurants and the safety of the customers is not measured (Triguero Fernández. and Sáez-Martinez 2018). Two-star ratings:The two-star ratings are given by the customers when the services provided by the restaurant is not satisfying the customers. The quality of the food is not measured and the food production and the food reparation techniques are not used effectively by the restaurants. Three-star ratings:In the case of the three-star ratings the customers are provided the services but some of the things in the restaurant are not like by the customers and the customers provide the three-star ratings. In rating process, the customer is giving the ratings to the restaurants on the basis of the services, quality of food as well. Four-star ratings:four-star ratings are given to the customers when the services and the food quality is up to date and customers are having no problem about the services and the food and beverage service as well. In these the customers are provided with the extra services but the customers are not satisfied with that the extra services provided by the restaurants. Five-star ratings:five-star rating is given to the customers when the customers are fully impressed by the services of the restaurant and the food and beverage services. The

Customers preferences:as the time is changing the customers preferences are changing but the services provided by the food and beverage outlets is changing as per the changing customers customers needs. Now a day’s customers like the spicy food and also exotic flavours are accepted by the customers willingly. Customers also want that the services provide by the outlets must be provided to the customers in the form of home delivery. Food safety:food safety is playing the important role in the customers decisions because now a day’s customer want everything with the food and the customers want the recipe of the food prepared and the in some cases customers are also watching the process of making the food. Food safety is prime motive of the outlets which are providing the services and the customers are also attracted towards the outlets which are providing the healthy food with the taste and the services as well (Reynolds 2015). Technology:as the is time is passing by the customers and the restaurants want every thing new and fast. So, the outlets which are providing the food and beverage services in the restaurant. The restaurants are using the technology and the input used for making preparing the food in the restaurant. In these ways the restaurant would have the time and the cost of the preparing the products and giving the services to the customers. E-commerce:restaurant is now using the ecommerce technology of providing the services to the customers. In these ways the customers are provided the good quality of food and the efficient services. Outlets which are providing the services are using the technology and the also providing the home services by the way of the mobile applications. LO2 P4) Explain the management skills which are necessary in food and beverage industry The employees which are working in the food and beverage industry need to be efficient and also able to handle the customers on the effective ways. The employee needs to
manage the food preparations and the food quality as well. Employee also have to manage the services other than the food and beverage services which are provided to the customers Hospitality skills:The manager of the food and beverage industry must need the hospitality skills. It includes the greeting of the customers and good communications skills which would attract the customers towards itself. The service must be time to time and the employee must be polite enough while communicating with the customers. Hospitality industry include the services like solving the problems of the customers as well. Good communication skill is attracting the customers towards the restaurants and the hotels as well (Pandey, and et.al., 2016). Management skills:Management skills include the managing of the employees which are working in the restaurant or the food and beverage outlets. Skills include the food preparing management handling the conflicts between the employees which are working in the restaurants. The employee would be able manage the employees and the services which areprovidedtothecustomers.Managementskillsincludethemanagementofthe employees and ensure about the safety measures of the employee sand the customers which are visiting the hotel as well. Time management skills:Time management skills include the managing the time. Customers want the services fast abut the services must not be too fast like the customers are not able to finish the starters and the main course is delivered on the table that would be not be the good impression of the restaurant on the customers. Time management skills include the time management for the customers which are visiting the hotels and the restaurants as well. P5) Legal requirements and the regulatory standards in food and beverage industry General food law consists of the regulatory standards on the food and beverage industry. The food and beverage industry are focusing on the following the European legislation which include the following points (Klassen, and et.al., 2018). Food safety:As per the European legislation the food and beverage industry include the food safety. The food safety is important because the food safety is affecting the health of the customers. The restaurants have to maintain the effective measures for the safety of the food and also the employees of the restaurants must be trained for safety measures regarding the food. These must be monitored by the employers of the restaurants and the services must
be improved as well. Unsafe food must not be provided to the customers if provided it would result in the penalties. Labelling of the products:The labelling of the food and beverages must be done because the food according to laws. It must contain the expiry of the food products and the manufacturing date of the product as well.The labelling of the product includes the food laws and the effective food service include providing the good quality of the food. The presentation of the food and the information of the food must be providing to the customers when demanded if not than it would result in then penalties for the restaurant (Scott Hawkins and Knai 2017). Food quality:food quality includes the laws for preparing the food and the food preparing safety measures. The laws include the guidance for the restaurants in which way the food need to be prepared and what quality of the food be served to the customers. The latest technology is improving the work of the restaurant and also customers are satisfied with the work of the restaurants (Huang, and et.al., 2017). Customer service:customer service includes the operational work and the services provide to the customer must be according to the customers. In operational way the order given by the customers need time to be fulfilled and for delivering. The technology is helping the restaurant to fulfil the customers need and deliver the order given by the customers in the less time and also with the less cost of the preparing the food as well. Technology:latest technology is used by the restaurant in the food and beverage industry. In the operational way the restaurant is not using the latest technology for fulfilling the need of the customers as well. Regular campaigns should be organised by the restaurants to make the customers aware about the deals and offers to come and try it. Many restaurants are trying to attract the customers and the restaurants are also attracting the customers by the way of the marketing and giving the offers on the food and beverage services of the restaurants (Santoro, Vrontis and Pastore 2017). Economic conditions:the choice of food ordered by a customer hugely depends on the economic conditions of the person. According to the prices of the dishes and other food items provided a person decides that which thing will he buy. The economic conditions of the country would also have the effect on the customers because if the customers are not able to visit the restaurants than how would the restaurant earn money and attract the customers. Personal preferences:at a personal opinion the choice of a customer varies from person to person. Some people may also be allergic to certain ingredients so they wish to have a larger variety of food items to be provided by a particular restaurant. Many people nowadays like to have different sorts of food like Chinese, Italian, Mexican, continental etc so they also expect to get it all at a same place. The new technologies also attract customers towards the restaurant which is very profitable for the restaurant. The technologies act as a boon for the food and beverage industry. Marketing:marketing in food and beverage industry is very important and crucial part as it attracts many people towards it. the way a restaurant presents itself in front of its consumers and the services provided by it are very important. The marketing strategies adopted by the restaurant should be customer friendly. The most common way of marketing is mouth publicity or the social media. The restaurant can also distribute pamphlets or give advertisements to make the people aware about the place. Another way to attract the customers is by giving discounts and lucky draws for the customers. Customer service:The services provided to a customer while he is in the restaurant should be up to the mark such as the hospitality, the parking services and the healthy atmosphere near the restaurant you are visiting or the next time the person will think twice before going to that place. The waste management is also an important factor for attracting the customers. The interiors of a place is a thing which makes a lot of difference (Bayona-Saez, and et.al., 2017). Everyone likes the place where the interiors are attractive and wish to go there at least once. The food and beverage industry are increasing because of the increasing of the food businesses in the industry. The catering, restaurants, food trucks and
the cafes are running effectively in the industry. The latest trends are followed by the restaurants like the customers and are given first preferences and the food quality is being improved in the industry as well. The restaurants include the proper sanitation facilities and the proper cleaning facilities as well.
