It also analyzes two motivational theories and their application in managing employee performance. Additionally, it identifies factors that influence individual behavior at work and effective teamwork. The report is based on Tesla, a well-known company in the automotive and energy sectors.

INTRODUCTION
It is very important for organisation to manage its people and employees in correct
and effective manner. This will support in enhancing the performance of company as well as
conducting business activities in better manner (Bush and Middlewood, 2013). There are
various challenges and issues faced by business in order to correctly manage people and
attain organisational goals. This report is based on Tesla. This is well known company that is
conducting its business operation is Automotive, energy storage and energy production
sector. This organisation was developed in 2003 and founder of this organisation was Martin
Eberhard, J. B. Straubel and Marc Tarpenning. Tesla organisation is providing different types
of products such as Electric vehicles, Tesla Batteries, Solar panels and roofs. This report will
includes recruitment and selection process that will support in hiring more capable
employees. In this different motivational theory is also identified that will support in
managing activities of staff member. Apart from this different factors are analysed which will
influence effectiveness and behaviour of teamwork.
MAIN BODY

Recruitment and selection is a very crucial process of organisation as this help in
attracting and influencing highly skilled candidates to fill the vacant position of the company.
It is important for respective company to conduct recruitment and selection process in correct
and effective manner.
Recruitment – Recruitment can be described as the process of stimulating and
attracting more and more candidates to fill vacant position (Basu, 2014). There are different
ways through which Tesla company attract and influence largest number of candidate to
apply for vacant job role.
Types of recruitment
Recruitment can be done through internal or external. Internal and external recruitment is
mentioned below -

Internal recruitment - Internal recruitment can be described as a way of hiring employee
within the current workforce of business. Internal recruitment includes promotion, transfer,
employee referral, demotion and so on. Tesla organisation can consider internal recruitment
to fill the vacant position with suitable current employee.
External recruitment - External recruitment is a way of considering applications from outside
the business. External recruitment consist of online portal, official website, consultancy firm,
third party referral, campus placement and many more. This type of recruitment supporting
candidate with new talent and ideas.
Selection – This refer as the process of choosing and hiring right and talented employee for
conducting business functions (Moran, 2016). Selection process is considered as negative
process and it includes short listing of candidates as well as eliminating not suitable
candidate. Process of selection that needs to be consider by Tesla company is mention below
–
 Preliminary interview - This is first and basic interview in order to check the
education qualification and experience of candidate.
 Receiving application – In this candidate will apply for the application and this will
include CV or bio data, work experience, interest and so on.
 Screening of application – Tesla company will have to screen all application and
reject application which does not match with business requirements. Respective
organisation can use tools for screening large number of application.
 Employment test – Selected application candidate will have to give employment test.
This includes aptitude test, intelligence test, personality test.
 Interview – Candidate who clear employment test will be invited for interview. In this
interviewer will ask question to candidate in order to check their knowledge and
capability.
 Medical and reference check – Selected candidate reference and background will be
check and medical test will be taken.
 Final selection – This is final state of selection process and in this Tesla company will
offer appointment letter to selected candidate.

It is important for Tesla company to develop and create induction and training checklist in
order to provide complete information to new joined employee. Checklist for induction and
training is mention below.

 Provide training and information about policies and regulation of workplace.
 Meeting with senior and co- worker.
Analyse and discuss two motivational theories and their application in the business to

Motivation is very crucial for employees as this will support in increasing their
capabilities and performance (McDermott and Keating, 2013). There are several
motivational theories that will support in providing framework to employee in order to
motivate their employees. Maslow and Herzberg motivational theory is mention below with
its application in business.
Maslow motivation theory
This motivational theory was developed by Maslow in 1943 and this theory is known as
Maslow hierarchy of need. The motive of developing theory is to motivate employees by
meeting with the different needs and requirement. According to this theory there are five
different needs of individual which are –
Physiological need – This consist of basic needs of an individual such as air, water, shelter,
cloths, sleep etc. Tesla company needs to full fill this need of employee in order to motivate
them.
Safety need – This need includes safety and security of a person that is essential for living.
Prospective company should provide safe and Secure in environment to perform task.
Social need – Social need referred as the need of love and belonging (Stone and Stone,
2013). Tesla company should focus on enhancing employee relation for motivating
employee.

Esteem need – This need can be described as the need of achievement, dignity and
independence. Respective organisation should provide to recognition on achievement to
employees for their great work.
Self actualization need - This is the last need of maslow theory, it sterilization of self
fulfilment, potential and growth. Employees Will Seek for personal development and
emplacement of desired goal.
Herzberz’s motivational theory –
This theory was developed by Frederick Herberg in 2000 and the aim of introducing this
theory is to identify job enrichments. Herzberz theory is also known as two factor theory
which includes motivating factors and hygiene factors. Both of these factors are explain
below –
 Motivating factors – This includes all those factors which lead to influence the
capability and potential of employees. Motivators are achievement, recognition,
responsibility, advancement and growth (Xavier, 2013). Motivating factors are found
in the work only and this support in enhance hard work of employee.
 Hygiene factor – This factor consist of company polices, relationship, working
condition, supervision, remuneration, security etc. Hygiene factor are not present in
job role but lack of these factor will affect employee performance.

There are different factors that will influence the individual behaviour as well as
effective teamwork in organisation. Tesla company needs to influence and enhance
employees to use their full capability and efficiency to carry business activates. Behaviour
and efforts of employees to conduct business activates and teamwork is based on several
factors such as –
Organisational policies and regulation – Employee performance and behaviour is majorly
depended in the regulation and policies of organisation. This will lead to define the working
procedure and system. Employee will perform better when organisation policies are
according to employees preference. This will also lead to have impact over efforts of
employee in team work.

Working culture – Environment and culture in which individual is working will have
significant affect in their behaviour towards working and contribution on team work. Positive
and friendly working environment will support in improving behaviour of employees. This
type of organisational culture will assist in developing strong relationship with in company
as well as increase team work capabilities.
Perception and attitude – Attitude and perception of employee towards job role and
company will have impact on their working behaviour as well as team work. Positive attitude
of perform will lead to motivate them to conduct business activities in effective and
maximize efforts in teamwork.
Ability of employee – Capability and potential of employees will lead to affect the behaviour
of employees towards their work and accomplishment of objectives (Shaw, 2017).
Employees will high ability and talent will be able to perform business task correctly and
meet with the expectation of Tesla company.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that there are different activities of
employees that needs to be managed properly. It has been determined that effective and
efficient management of employees will support in enhancing the overall performance as well
profitability of business. Company needs to conduct recruitment and selection process in
correct manner so that right and accurate employees can be selected to fill the vacant
position of organisation. Motivational theories are effective for providing guidance to
business so that they can motivate its employees and improve their capability. Apart from this
it has been analysed that there are different factors appreciation, rewards and many more
which will support in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency o teamwork. This will
support in influencing the behaviour of employees so that they can carry job role activities
with full efficiency.
