INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management (HRM) is defined as a continuous process controlling or
supervising the people in an organisation in a proper organized and detailed manner. It always
work for the welfare of employees of organisation which help in the establishment of industrial
relationship. This report shows the the complete recruitment and selection process, induction
program in context of Sainsbury. In addition to this, report include motivational theories and
their application in Sainsbury and factors influencing individual behaviour and teamwork.
Sainsbury is a UK based company of supermarkets having headquarter in London, England, UK.

Recruitment & Selection Process
Recruitment can be defined as a process of identify & attract people, conducting interviews,
selecting, hiring and on enrolling employees. And selection is the process of choosing right
candidate with right skills at right place. In simple words, it can be said that it is a process of
finding and engaging the bester candidate for organisation in cost and time effective manner.
Process of recruitment & selection which Sainsbury followed while doing recruitment is given
below: Creating a recruitment plan- Predetermined policy or plan for hiring employees is
known as recruitment plan. It act as a guideline for applicant (Aquilani and et. al., 2017).
While doing recruitment, Sainsbury create a proper plan by preparing job description
which include the complete details about the profile i.e. Company name, location, salary,
qualification/skills/experience required etc. Talent Search- At this step, HR have to search the candidate having good knowledge,
skills, experience and who is suitable for the concerned profile. Sainsbury search the
required talent through internal and external sources. Screening and Short listing- After searching candidates, a lots of application is receive
from candidates. Now HR have to analyse and do screening under which they select and
call the relevant candidate for interview.
