INTRODUCTION
The project management of a business is covered in this report and its aspects are also
discussed. Also the main topic is managing a successful business highlighted in this framework.
The organization is taken in this report is Tesco for which the management plan has made. The
Tesco is a retail company in UK, which have so many stores in so many cities of UK. Basically
it provides food product, clothing, and baby products. The main store of Tesco is located in the
London. This report has the aims that are decided by the project manager of the company and
also the relative objectives are highlighted in this report. There are so many aspects on which the
management depended such that cost, scope, time, quality, communication, risk and resources.
The breakdown structure and Gantt chart for the time frames also explained in this report. This
framework has the type of research which are used to evaluate the business and the management
of the business. the analysis of research and data are categorized and also the appropriate
recommendation is outlined. The data analysis and research is so helpful to make a conclusion
which has some mean. The reflection is also done in this report
TASK 1
P1) Aims and objectives
Aim- To execute the CSR activities for organization that profitability can be promoted and
sustainability of the organization can also upgraded.
Objectives- These are some objectives of this project management report.
 To understand the different phases of project management that can cover all the aspects.
 To understand the various CSR activities this can promote the profitability and financial
sustainability.
 To understand the plan this is helpful to execute the project. Control the project, monitor
the project and close the project.
 To analyze the business of Harrods in which such aspects like scope, timescales, cost and
quality, communications could be understand by the lifecycle of the project.

P2) Project management plan
1. Scope of research project
There is wide scope of the current project because under this main focus is on
sustainability and profitability that is observed in the business due to implementation of CSR in
the business. Questionnaires are prepared and same are analyzed by using thematic analysis.
2. Risk management
It is possible that in the current research literature can be taken from the unreliable
sources. If same will be done then in that case research may be carried out in wrong direction. So
it is very important to conduct research in proper manner.
3. Cost control
In order to control cost and to ensure better quality of research two college level students
will be hired and same will distribute questionnaire among respondents. Entire data analysis and
data cleansing work will be done at my own level.
4. Quality control
In order to control quality after data collection all responses will be reviewed. Errors and
missing values will be removed from the data and it will be ensured that data is prepared in
proper manner for analysis purpose.
The project management plan leads to the execution of a project also it have the strategy to
control the various operations during the execution of the project. The project plan made for
getting the information about the factors that can make impacts on the project. The working
place of that project is also explained in that project plan. It also contains the responsibilities of
various representatives of that project. It has 5 phases which can covers it’s all the aspects like
cost, scope, time, quality, communication, risk and resources.
Project Initiation- It is the phase in which is concept of the project is decided by the
manager of the project. The broad definition of the project is done in this phase that can be
helpful to get the idea about the whole project management plan and its various factors. The
feasibility of the project is tested in this phase as the researcher should have the strategy to make
this possible. The purpose and requirements of the project are outlined in the project charter and

the project initiation document (PID). The PID has the business needs of the project which can
be fulfilled by the various investors. The stakeholders of the project have their diligence in this
project so the project charter should be there to understand their requirements. The prediction of
the outcomes is also a part of the initiation phase of project management plan. So many which
cannot be possible in the project just because of their less scope, so that kind of elements will be
outside of the project, thus the project’s boundaries are also analyzed in this initiation phase of
the project management plan.
Project definition and planning- The requirements of the project are certified in this 2nd
phase of project management plan. The stakeholder will definitely expect their desire result from
this project so that all the expectations are identified and specified according to their priority. So
many parties are linked with the project to their data is also maintained in this phase. Regarding
the Harrods, it has so many stores but if they want to conduct the CSR activities in their each
store that can increase their profit and financial sustainability. The metadata of the each factor
associated with the project has stored. The planning of the project can be done with the
awareness of some factors such that the preconditions of the environment or the social in which
the project is to be executed. The functional requirements of the projects, in Harrods they should
have the machine and equipment that will be used to make their functionality so easy. The
requirements that are used to conduct various operations of the project, also designated in this
phase of project plan. The design of functionality and operations has some limitation, as the
Harrods should know about the limitations regarding their business and its aspects. In the
planning phase the Harrods have to make the plan for effective communication and risk
management.
Project execution- This is face is also known as development phase because all the
predictions and planning which has done in this initiation and planning phase went for the
development in this phase of project management plan. The each update in the project can be
seen in the execution phase as the report of status, report of meetings, updates related to the
development, the report of the performance analysis. So many teams are divided according to
their work and towards that work they all have responsibilities. There are some factors which are
the key to complete a task in the execution of project. The Harrods must have the team that has
responsibility for the development of the project. The resources like funds, transport, raw

material, employment and so on, are assigned according to their need. If there is any need then
management of the procurement should be there. The system to track the status of the project
should be set by the authority of the Harrods. The different tasks are assigned to the relative
teams. The schedule of the project is updated and also the needed modification in the different
strategic plans done in this phase.
Project performance and Monitoring- The growth of the project is evaluated and the
analysis of the performance is done in this phase. Harrods should have the proper staff which can
take care of this section. In this phase of project plan the Harrods has to be ensured that they
have the best management plan of their project as the each thing is going in the right way. If
everything has done with accuracy then the key performance indicators (KPI) will be used by the
managers of the project. Basically these indicators can be taken by the project managers to check
the performance. The objectives of the project should be achieved; the delivery should have the
quality as the each product of the Harrods should have the better quality that can increase their
profit. The tracking of the cost and the efforts of the employees in their respective team should
be up to the expectations and performance of the project should be effective to meet the
objectives of the project.
Project Closure- In this phase the whole project is done, the hired contractors got the
termination from the project. The valuable team members are recognized and get the
appreciation. The efforts of the each participants appreciated by the project managers. The
evaluation about the failures and the good things about the project is done in this phase thus it is
easy to understand about the aspects which has need the improvement(Gustafson, 2012). Some
of the things have not completed in this project so it is the duty of project manager to do it with
the help of team members.

P4) Different research methods to reach out project's aims
Researcher of the organization uses different methods to conduct research for collecting
information related to recognize corporate social responsibility role in financial development. It
is done through methods such as primary and secondary data. Under primary data collection,
information are gathered at first time that is through conducting survey and face to face
interview. While, secondary data collection involves collecting data through ready materials such
as newspaper, magazines and analyzing business performance. For accomplishing this project,
analyst uses sampling method under which he selects 50 respondents/ managers to ask questions
by preparing questionnaire. It is contained a list of questions related to determine customer

opinions for impact of CSR activities in business performance of small size enterprise. Sample
does not cover any big proportion of the population. As managers as sample units are not taken
from single business firm. Hence, proportion of sample in population is very low.
Research philosophy: - In this process, researcher uses positivism method in which data
are collected to present current business performance. In this regard, different tools and
techniques are obtained for using CSR activities in financial development of Tesco Thus, this
philosophy is interlinked with proper management and preparing planning procedure for further
implementation efficiently.

Interpretation

Results are reflecting that mean value of the variable is 12.5 which means that on average
basis most of respondents are agree on statement “Increasing in strength for competition by using
responsibilities for society”. Median value is 9 which is dividing data set in to multiple parts.
There is no value that is repeating in data set. Standard deviation is 12.5 which means that values
are not deviating at fast pace. It can be said that results are not deviating at fast pace.
The collection data and analyzing the 50 employees of the Tesco and their views, as the
financial growth of the mentioned organization have impacted by the CSR activities. The
process, the information which is gathered in this report can be presented by the thematic
presentation as below:
Theme 1: Importance of CSR activities to get Tesco’s effectiveness.
Interpretation:- At first, researcher asks 50 employees to gain role model of CSR
activities to get Tesco’s effectiveness. Therefore, it is determined that 40 out of 50 respondents
are agreed that corporate social responsibilities plays significant role to gain effectiveness of
small business unit. It is because it is useful to aware society and providing them healthy and
secured products. However, CSR activities are beneficial for financial development and
economic stability of firm effectively. In this regard, different tools are obtained for expansion of
entity and increasing service qualities at high level. Therefore, corporate social responsibilities
are useful for economic growth and stability of organization in systematic manner.

Theme 2: Social awareness for using CSR activities tools to gain customer satisfaction.
Interpretation:- Through this inquiry, analyst collects information related to customer
satisfaction tool for implementing CSR activities. However, 35 out of 50 employees views that
these activities are key tools to gain customer satisfaction at high level. However, different tools
and techniques related to expansion of small scale enterprise can be gained that is valuable to
enhance productivity and profitability of firm. In addition to this, maximum level of social
awareness can be gained effectively. However, different tools and techniques are obtained to
fulfill consumer requirements. Moreover, it has been recognized that CSR activities plays crucial
role in financial development of organization therefore, profit earning capacity of firm can be
incraesed at high level. In this regard, positive outcome is obtained for using CSR activities
effectively that affects on business performance and market position of entity at large scale.

Theme 3: Impact on financial position of organization for applying CSR responsibilities
Interpretation:- Positive aspects of employees are obtained through this tool and
response that presents role of CSR activities in Tesco’s economic position. In accordance to this,
it has been determined that by using different tools and activities are usable to apply corporate
social responsibilities that impacts on economic position of company. As per this research
question, it is analyzed that 45 respondents out of 50 favour to acknowledge CSR tool helpful for
financial development of organization. Furthermore, it can be foretasted that profit earning
capacity of organization can be increased through this tool by applying corporate social
responsibilities. In accordance to this, retail sector organization can improve its efficiency
through contribution effectively. Moreover, it can be recognized that expect, finance other
departments of entity will be impacted such as production, performance and different business
activities will be implemented. Hence, through applying CSR activities, economic growth of
organization can be achieved that impacts on entire business operations.

Theme 4: Increasing in strength for competition by using responsibilities for society.
Interpretation:- After analyzing CSR activities role in Tesco’s development in finance,
researcher asks about aggregation over competitive advantages by using different CSR activities.
In this regard, positive result is obtained that 30 out of 50 are agreed that competitive strength of
entity can be increased. It is because effectiveness of activities and building up trust of society
related to healthy and secured products. In this regard, organization requires advertising effective
products to increase in demand for retail sector entity's activities. However, varieties of ideas are
obtained for expansion of small business unit and increasing in service qualities at high level. In
addition to this, it is recognized that 12 employees out of 50 are strongly agreed on CSR
activities role in enhancing competitive strength at high level. Thus, further decisions can be
taken for using corporate social responsibilities tool for financial development of firm at large
scale.

Interpretation:- Through this process, different views are obtained related to responsible
department for implementing CSR activities. In this process, researcher presents different
alternatives such as finance, HR and administration. Therefore, as per given aim to implement
activities for economic growth, it is determined that finance department is most suitable for
enlargement of small business unit and increasing productivity and profitability of firm.
Therefore, 30 respondents out of 50 views that finance department is most appropriate for
Tesco’s economic growth. Thus, by using CSR activities effectively, organization can increase
its profitability at high level.

Theme 6: Relation of CSR activities with advantages in competition.
Interpretation:- Researcher collects information related to CSR interlink with
competitive advantages. In accordance to this, it has been obtained that it is useful to use these
activities to sustain product value in market for long time period. Moreover, 45 out of 50
respondents are agreed that CSR activities are useful for implementation of organization and
making place in market for long time periodicity. In addition to this, different tools and
techniques can be utilized for social awareness and increasing demand for products. However,
customer attraction towards quality services of Tesco can be achieved at high level. It influences
productivity and profitability of firm efficiently. Thus, by using CSR Activities Company will
able to increase its profitability for long term sustainability in market.

Interpretation:- Under this research, different ideas are obtained for department in
organization’s role in executing CSR activities. Therefore, it has been determined that by setting

Research approach: - For this research project, analyst uses inductive technique under
which information are collected through survey and quantitative research methodology. In
accordance tot this, research is done through gathering data and implementing action plan for
further decisions. It is interrelated with generating different ideas for further implementation.
Thus, research is approaches for future oriented on the basis of analyzing current business
performance.
Research design: - This research design is interlinked with descriptive method under
which analyst collects data and further makes decision related to applying CSR activities for
economic growth of Tesco Therefore, under this system, analyst uses this tool to present problem
occurs at workplace including its solution. Therefore, overall description related to business
activities is obtained through research design.
Data collection: - In this regard, researcher collects data from primary and secondary
data collection tools. Under which, information are collected from survey, face to face interview
and taking help of ready materials for example newspaper, magazine etc. Therefore, under this
data collection tool, analysts conduct sample survey and asking questions to employees of the
small scale organization in efficient manner.
Data analysis: - After collecting data, project manager recognizes all gathered
information. Therefore, as per data collection current business performance and different tools
for implementation is obtained. In addition to this, data analysis is interrelated with generating
different ideas for further implementation and using CSR activities for financial development of
small scale enterprise effectively. In order to analyze the data thematic analysis method will be
used in the current research study. Along with this, descriptive analysis techniques will also be
used to analyze data.
P6) Recommendation
Different opinions of employees are collected through data collection technique as
conducting data to present current business performance and generating ideas related to
expansion of entity by using corporate social responsibilities tool. In addition to this, significance

of CSR activities are determined that are impact on effectiveness of small scale unit. Therefore,
it is required for project manager of Harrod's Ltd to recognize collected data effectively and
further preparing strategies to use CSR activities in different ways for enlargement of
organization to gain social awareness and increasing quality services at high level. Moreover, it
is essential to apply social responsibilities and using different activities related to gain customer
satisfaction at maximum level. Thus, society's awareness can be achieved efficiently. However, it
influences productivity and profitability of firm. Therefore, strength of organization can be
increased to gain attraction of people for providing healthy and secured products. It is useful to
enhance profit earning capacity and economic stability by using CSR activities efficiently. It is
recommended that business firms must focus on corporate social responsibility activities because
by doing so firm can increase competitiveness in the market. It can be said that there is huge
importance of CSR for the business firms and it must be performed by the firms in systematic
manner. It is recommended that business firms must ordered finance department to make
allocation of funds in proper manner by considering investment that need to be made in the CSR
activities of the business.

P7) Reflection
Through this project planning, My learning skills are improved and different quality
features like communication are upgraded, problem solving and dealing with customers. In this
regard, by reading articles and analyzing business performance critically, My observation power
is improved as well I got enhanced so many learning style. However, problem solving skills are
developed through creating positive environment and reducing conflicts occur at workplace for
project accomplishment. In this regard, different qualities are increased therefore systematic
planning procedure including scheduling and taking advantages of planning procedure as well
systematic activities are implemented for expansion of small business enterprise and increasing
quality services effectively. I learn a lots of things during this research project. One of the
learned thing was that CSR can be used as an important tool to compete with rivals. I think that
by preparing CSR program in proper manner good image of the firm can be created among the
customers. I observed that finance department play a very important role in implementation of

CSR activities in the business. Thus, detail discussion must be carried out with finance
department and accordingly allocation for CSR must be made by the business firm.
CONCLUSION
The report is concluded that implementation of CSR activities are useful for financial
development and economic stability of organization. However, systematic planning procedure is
determined for expansion of small scale enterprise as well increasing service qualities
effectively. Including this, different ideas and planning scales are considered through this
assignment. Moreover, different research methods including its interpretation are considered. In
accordance to this, various tools and techniques are obtained for project accomplishment. Thus,
through this report deep study related to research and project planning procedure is considered
that affects profitability and economic stability of small scale enterprise. Hence, through this
study different tools and techniques are obtained for project accomplishment efficiently to
expand small business enterprise through CSR activities.
