“The strategies and initiatives that are taken in companies so as to build an inclusive and
diverse working environment” A case study on Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc.
Introduction
For a business to be successful it is important that it has a highly efficient workers who
can help in achieving organisational goals timely by using their skills and talents. In order to
maximise the work performance of workers it is important that the company is able to build a
working atmosphere where all the workers belonging to different religions, caste, age, sex,
backgrounds, experiences etc. can have equal access to equal opportunities (Buengeler, Homan
and Voelpel, 2016). This can help increasing the confidence of worker and their work efficiency
can increase along with increasing the profitability of company. In this report the strategies and
initiatives which can be developed by Bandon Tiles Ltd will be discussed so that it can
effectively plan and grow its workforce. Aston Martin is a British car manufacturer which
manufactures luxury sports cars and grand tourers is taken so that the strategies and initiatives
which are adopted by the company can be analysed which can effectively help in implementing
them in Bandon Tiles Ltd. A small scale research will be conducted for this purpose so that the
aims and objectives of the research can be achieved on time with the use of effective research
tools like Gantt chart, WBS, PMP etc.
P1) Aims and objectives
Workforce plays an important role in company so that its resources can be efficiently
utilised and profits can be maximised. It is thus important that equal and fair opportunities are
given to them for their growth and development so that they can use their skills and
competencies effectively. Also this help in minimising the conflicts among them and increasing
harmony among their work so that through coordinated work company objectives are achieved in
a desired manner (Butler, 2016).
Research aim: To determine the strategies and initiatives that can be taken by a company so that
equality and diversity can be increased among workers.
Research objectives:
To develop the knowledge about importance of having equal and diverse workforce.
To identify the advantages of inclusive and diverse working environment.

To determine the strategies and initiatives that can help in increasing quality among
workers. To determine the ways in challenges related to diversity among worker can be dealt with.
Research questions:
What is meant by having a diverse and equal workforce?
What are the advantages of increasing inclusiveness and diverseness among workers?
Which strategies can be applied by company to achieve these objectives?
How can the challenges of having varied workforce be effectively dealt with?
P2) Project management plan
A PMP must be developed before starting a project so that all the details related to the
resources, cost, time etc. can be outlined and approval from the project manager can be taken so
that project can be efficiently started. The PMP plan helps in completing the project within the
budget and time ascertained. Following are the components of this project as identified by the
researcher:
Cost: The efficiency with which a project can be completed depends on the budget which
is allocated for it so that all the activities related to the project can be effectively
completed (Chan, 2019). It also help in estimating the amount of funds that are to be
arranged so that project can be completed in an efficient manner. in order to complete this
project the cost estimated by researcher is £100 so that various activities related to project
can be conducted.

Total £100 Time: This component helps in determining total time which needs to be invested in the
project and the time till which resources will be required in its completion. Time also
help in motivating the research team members to achieve the set milestones so that
overall project can be completed within the estimated time. The time estimated by

researcher in completion of this project is 7 weeks so that all the essential project related
work can be completed and effective results can be achieved. Scope: It helps in determining project goals, deliverables, features, cost, deadlines etc. of
the project so that the amount of work needs to be done can be ascertained. It also help in
identifyinh the worth and usefulness of the project so that effective skills can be applied
in completion of the project on time (Clarke and Higgs, 2016). Resources: Resources are required so that activities can be performed effectively and
desired results can be achieved. The estimation of resources must be properly done by the
researcher as the quality and efficiency of project depends on the availability of sufficient
resources. Some resources that are identified by researcher are office, research team,
mobile phones, computers etc. Risk: It is a factor which can affect the quality of results of project and can also lead to its
delay must be determined so that actions can be taken in minimisation of these risks.
These are the uncertain events that can occur during the project and affect its completion
on time which can generate negative results. Quality: In order to increase the effectiveness of results it is important that high quality of
information is gathered by researcher so that high quality of results can be achieved. It
also increases the authenticity and reliability of the project which is important so that
these results can be practically applied (Cucari, Esposito De Falco and Orlando, 2018).
Communication: Effective communication plays an important role so that flow of
information can take place smoothly. This also facilitate in proper exchange of
information among team members which help them in performing their roles and
responsibilities in an efficient manner thereby improving the quality of research. Use of
internet, e-mails, messages, video conferencing etc. can be done by researcher so that
effective communication can be established throughout the project.
P3) Gantt chart and WBS
Gantt chart: It is a tool which is used to align activities relate to a project with respect to
the time which is required to complete each of the activity. It helps in efficiently mangling the
project so that it can be completed on time. This tool helps in determining the relation of activity
with time along with their inter-dependency on each other so that the total time which is required
to complete the project can be efficiently utilised. This chart is utilised by the researcher so that

all the activities related to the project can be given proper time for their efficient completion (Eva
and Herbert, 2019).
Work breakdown structure (WBS): This tool helps in breaking the complete project
into smaller and manageable tasks so that the project can look achievable and also it can help in
managing a bulky and complex project. This tool also helps in encouraging the team members so
that they can work towards achieving milestones on time (Gabaldon and Giménez, 2017).
