INTRODUCTION
Increasing digitalisation in the commercial segment throughout entire aspects of business
is creating indispensable advantages for the business organisations in marketplace. These days,
scope of digitalisation is increasing day by day. With the help of digitalisation, it is easy for
organisation to expand business operations and profits (Assegaff and Hussin, 2012).
Digitalisation is not only beneficial for organisation but it also provides satisfaction to
employees. This report is based on Continental Consulting Limited which is business
consultancy company. Managers of Continental Consulting Limited are thinking to upgrade their
IT technology through which image of organisation can be improved. In IT, cloud technology is
used which is helpful in storage of client's data. In this report, their is discussion about project
aims and objectives, small scale research, information gathering and data collection techniques to
carry out suitable outcome.
TASK 1
P1 Devise project aims and objectives for chosen topic
Digitalisation is one of the effective approach for performing business operations in
effective way. Digitalisation means use of various digital techniques which helps to perform data
to work with more efficiency (Wiler, 2015). Digital technologies helps managers of Continental
Consulting Limited to provide quick services to consumers and it helps to compete in industry.
Cloud technology, use of mobile applications, social media etc. are some examples of
digital technology that can be employed for improving managerial and commercial affairs of
organisation. There are many social media applications such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
etc. which can be used to market brand in industry (Chang, 2016). With the help of digital
techniques, it is easy to create brand awareness among people. Cloud technology is the best
medium through which it is easier to store and transfer data from one place to another.
Continental Consulting Limited has 22 expert teams which provides expertise business growth
techniques. Cloud technology helps team in sharing and storage of client's data.
Topic: “The impact of digital technology supporting small business growth and innovation.”
Background of project: Continental Consulting Limited deals in providing consultancy
services. Managers of Continental Consulting Limited thinking to come with the approaches
which are effective and significant for organisational growth and development. To compete in

industry, it is essential to make alteration in working style. With the use of digital technology
positive impact on profits can be met by the organisation (Cuijpers, Guenter and Hussinger,
2011). Cloud computing is one of the best techniques of digitalisation that can easily transfer and
access data of client with the help of this technology. In order to take business at international
level, it is easy to store, share and transfer data with the help of cloud digital technology. It is
essential to analyse demand of customer and then provide services so with the help of
digitalisation, it is easier to contact with customers.
Aim: “To analyse the impact of cloud technology on business growth and innovation.” A case
study of Continental Consulting Limited.
Objectives:
 To identify whether positive result generated with cloud technology on growth and
development of organisation.
 To analyse the main factors that affect business growth and innovation while
implementing cloud technology.
 To identify relationship between cloud technology and innovation of Continental
Consulting Limited.

P2 Produce a project management plan that covers aspects of cost, scope, time, quality,

It is identified as an important part for company as it is needed for an enterprise to
develop project management plan. Main purpose of preparing the plan is to manage entire
activities or functions of the business appropriately (Dwivedi, Henriksen and Wastell, 2013).
Project management plan is essential in helping a project by observing logical discoveries and
actualities which are proper for the activities of company. In order to create an effective project,

project manager undertake different determinants such as scope, cost, time, communication, risk
and so on. All these helps the organization to complete their project in given time period.
Scope: It is main aspects for each and every business as it plays an essential role in
completion of work effectively. Every organization has their own purpose and scope which gives
accurate guidelines to the company to accomplish wanted objectives and targets within
predetermined time period (Reschke and Schelle, 2013). Main scope of cloud technology is that
it assist in developing all the effective elements related with administration, promotion,
production, expansion, distribution etc.
Cost: It is also an essential and necessary element in completion of project. At the
fundamental level, appropriate amount of capital is needed to be capitalized in developing the
skill and knowledge base of employees (Espiner, 2015). In order to implement cloud technology
in the organization, Continental Consulting Limited needed some amount related to certain
activities which are determined as under:

path methods that gives proper amount of information to the business in respects to the complete
of project. Beside this, project manager need approx 8 weeks to complete such project in a
systematic and effective manner (Gitata, 2017).
Risk: In project, conflict and problems are unwanted, it can emerge in different situations
as well as has more impact on project activities. The main duty of Continental Consultancy

Limited manager is to find out difficult situation like inadequate amount of funds, support of
workforce, lack of resources and knowledge etc. All these arises via implementation of cloud
technology in the company.
Communication: This part of project management plan plays vital role in developing
collaboration and coordination among the workers (Olsen, 2013). Communication is needed to
properly manage business operations and activities via collaboration of workforce. Beside this,
business manager is concern about proper channel of communication in order to distribute roles
and responsibilities to the staff members. Thus, it also help in implementing cloud technology
effectively in the company.
Resource: It is another effective and important part which is used by the project manager
in order to complete project activities systematically. Continental Consulting Limited is mainly
concerned with retaining the accurate flow of resources including funds, human resources etc. as
to gain competitive advantages easily (Grillo, 2014).

It is important for the administration of the company to handle all activities and
operations of company systematically. It is the main duty of manager to ensure regarding the
accurate planning of resources as to finish the project activities within the determined time frame
(Deokar and Sarnikar, 2016). There are mainly two techniques which are followed by the project
manager of Continental Consulting Limited as to handle organizational work in proper manner.
Work breakdown structure: Work break down structure is the techniques used by
managers in order to distribute whole project among subordinates that assist in improving work
as per the requirement to accomplish set goals (Hagel, 2013). It is essential and valuable for
management team of respected firm to recognize entire information linked with particular area. It
support an individuals in achieving desired goals and objectives within given time period.

Gantt Chart: It is a useful and valuable graphical technique which display tasks or
activities performed against period of time. There are few advantages of Gantt Chart which can
help Continental Consulting Limited to know starting and completion time of project. Some of
the benefits are- clarity, communication, motivation, coordination, creativity, time management,
flexibility, manageability, accountability and efficiency etc. for company. All these are important
for the company as well as help in identifying the time period for complexion of project (Hakim,
2012). All these techniques are essential part for Continental Consulting Limited in regards to
improving the productivity and performance of the company.

P4 Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research methods
Research can be done in effective way with the help collection of authentic and relevant
data. Data collection means to gather information elated to organisation which is relevant for
achieving targets. This is the systematic method through which it helps organisation to deal with
changes and actions, performed in accordance to aim and objectives. There are two main
methods of collecting data-
Qualitative method- This methods works on the basis of exploratory research which
provides deep analyse of research (Jeannerot, 2013). Data collected from this source are not
often in structured manner that require proper analysis, summarisation and overview along with
suggestion of research to communicate properly. Methods of qualitative research are- personal
interview, focus group etc. Qualitative method helps to know about human experiences which
helps to make appropriate decisions.
Quantitative method- This method works on numerical data which is used in order to
give some decisions. According to this research method, behaviour of respondents are covered
which provides knowledge about topic. Longitudinal studies, mobile surveys, questionnaire etc.
are examples of quantitative research (Jugend and Leoni, 2015).
Population size are employees which are working at higher post such as general manager,
departmental head, supervisor, etc. They are the people with whom views are taken related to
implementation of cloud technology. They have knowledge related to working alteration with
cloud techniques. To conduct this project random sampling method is used which is free from
biasness and provide exact outcome of project. Questionnaire is created by Continental
Consulting Limited for which 50 employees are targeted to provide suggestion. Here is given

Research design: Research design is an systematic way which is used by researcher to
collect data in organised manner. This helps to come at some authentic and accurate outcome.
Explanatory, descriptive and experimental research are types of research design. In this research,
descriptive research is used to know relevance of cloud technology at workplace.
Data collection:- Data collection is essential technique to collect and measure
information related to topic (Khayun, Ractham and Firpo, 2012). There are two basic types of
data that can be utilised to carry out proper outcome i.e. primary and secondary data. There are
various methods through which data can be collected from respondents such as interview,
questionnaire, journals, newspaper, etc. (Mena, Van Hoek and Christopher, 2018).

technology affect business activities in negative manner as this enhance complexity and at the

10 respondents given views that funds are the major resource required by firm while
implementing digital technology. In addition to this, 20 respondents said that company require

From the above discussion, it is clear that Cloud technology is effective for reaching
customer and there is reduction in waiting time of clients which helps to increase customer
loyalty and satisfaction. There are some employees who are not ready to work under latest
technology due to fear of unknown, lack of control, lack of competence or poor timing, so it is
essential to motivate them. On the job training is beneficial as it helps to know about problems
which can be raised while working with new technology.
From the above discussion it is clear that managers of Continental Consulting Limited
must use cloud technology. More than 50% respondents favours it. Out of 50 respondents, 18
favour it because it ease in working style. As per 38 respondents, employees participation helps
to implement cloud technology at work place. According to 20 respondents employees are the
sources through which cloud technology can be implemented, 10 respondents favour for funds,
while 20 favour for expertise knowledge.
Managers of Continental Consulting Limited must plan strategies so there will
improvement in performance of organisation. It is recommended that managers of Continental
Consulting Limited must take view of employees through personal interview brain storming, etc.
regarding implementation of cloud technology. There must be use on the job training methods so

increment in overall performance of Continental Consulting Limited. Technology are upgrading
very frequently so this is the major problem faced by managers to update software and
acknowledge workers about alterations. Main advantage of could techniques is 24*7 reach and it
is easy to collect and store data of clients. On the other hand, due to could technology, an
organisation might face numerous issues such as mismanagement of records, lack of control, out-
dated system etc. Also, it is requisite to provide proper training to worker to carry out best
outcome in more significant manner. Security and loss of data is one of the great challenge for
implementing technology. In this situation, it is essential for managers to keep a backup so all
operations can be run smoothly. This can be recommanded to an organisation to keep updating

P7 Reflect on the value of research to meet aim
From this evaluation, I have examined that concept of digital technology offer various
benefits to company. One of the major advantage related with cloud technology is that it
provides ease in collecting and storing huge amount of data in safe place.
On the other side, I have managed to work on practical activities of conducting research.
All activities included in complete the project go well but I faced some difficulties while
collecting data from respondents as many individuals did not answer all question of
questionnaire. Except this, all other activities of research are completed in given time which help
me to study the various concepts of related with digital technology. I faced problems such as
uninterested respondents, lack of financial resources, lack of participation of respondents, lack of
guidance and planning which affects my research work. I have to work with quick deadlines
which affects my working efficiency. I was restricted to specific budget set by my supervisor.
There was lack of time because of short deadlines, so there were possibilities of mismatch of
data but I managed the situation quietly. My team was very supporting which helped me to
accumulate and store data systematically. Due to systematic and organised management, I have
finally managed to conduct a research report accurately.

I feel like there is more requirement of expertise knowledge, guidance through which
team can perform well. This is relevant and significant and attaining goals and objectives. I feel
like language is a barrier due to which respondents can not answer effective which affects project
interpretation. I am able to accomplish this project because of positive attitude of my team.
CONCLUSION
The above report summarise that digitalisation is one of the essential component for
growth and development of overall organisation. Cloud technology helps organisation to store,
collect, organise data in systematic way. The research emphasise that in order to manage a
proper report, suitable research technologies and methodologies are opted by an investigator
along with certain phases which are requisite. It is essential to prepare project management plan,
Gantt Chart, WBS etc. in order to manage work systematically.
