Protagonist James and antagonist Peter:
Peter: Hey James is it okay if you lend me your car
James: umm, sorry I’m not really sure about that, why do you need it and it is my car.
Peter: I am just needing it to get to an urgent doctor’s appointment for my wife because she is
pregnant and is possibly about to go into labour.
James: This is my car and it is very special to me; because the interior of my car equipped with
the best quality leather and special seats. I don’t think I will be able to lend it to you
Peter: I have a big situation if you lend me your car that will be great help.
James: but Peter why can’t you just get a taxi or get the friend to lend you their car.
Peter: James it is the middle of the night and you are the only one that is responding and is
awake, I don’t really see what’s the big fuss, we are next door neighbours and good friends so
didn’t think it would be a big problem.
James: I am sorry Peter but this car is very important to me and I can’t just lend it to anyone
Peter: I am not just anyone I have been a good neighbour of yours for a good long period of
time.
James: I know that Peter but you don’t understand what this car means to me it was a gift from
my great grandfather that was passed down for generations without breaking his vows.
Peter: hey James my wife she cannot stay until tomorrow morning I need your help if you can
James: One of vows that my grandfather had placed was for whoever had the responsibility and
was given too would not allow for anyone that isn’t a part of the family to use this car because it
would give the family bad luck.
Peter: I can understand that, but do you realize emergency of this situation, I really need to use
your car to reach to the hospital
James: I cannot lend you this car as it one of the most important and morale duties of mine, not
to break my great grandfather’s vows.
Peter: Do you really believe in these superstitious things that lending your car to someone else
would bring bad luck to the family?
James: It doesn’t matter whether you believe in these things or do not believe in these things, but
the fact is that I do believe in it.
