INTRODUCTION Leadership and management skills are the important skills which are required by the individuals for their personal development(Farchi and Tubin, 2019). In the leadership skills the individual needs to develop the planning and strategic thinking skills and the power to influence the other person. On the other hand, management skills require the development of interpersonal skill, motivation, delegation of powers and responsibility and many others. Thus, the person needs to develop these skills as these skills are helpful in the life of the person when they start their career. Leadership and management skills are important for the workplace when the individual start their work in some organisation and these skills help the person to grow in their workplace. This report will cover the models of leadership and management and will also cover the action plan of leadership and management developmental activities. MAIN BODY Leadership and management theories and models Leadership theories- Contingency theory-This theory is based on the idea that the leader needs to identify the situation and should adopt that leadership style which will work best for the situation. In this style of leadership I lack because I cannot identify the situation and does not enough knowledge regarding the style of leadership which can work the best(Tang, 2019). This is because I am still don’t have the knowledge regarding the situations which the business can face.Situational theory-This theory aims that the leaders must adopt the style of leadership which suits the environment of the organisation. This theory only explains the situation which needs to be developed by the leader and I am capable of identifying the situation which will work best for the organisation. But the only difficulty which I face is to adopt different style of leaders according to different situations. Management theories-System management theory-This theory is based on the idea that for bringing effective and productive results it is important that the employees working in the organisation works with harmony and cooperation. I have the skill of working with cooperation and together with the people. Sometimes if I like the idea of other person then I does not feel 1
any hesitation to ask about that idea so that I can also use that idea in some case or situation. ï‚·Scientific management theory-This theory was based that working hard will not help the employees and the organisations because the results will not be productive. The outcome of the work will come out only when the things will be simplified(Strickland and Welch, 2019). I believe in working when work is simplified to me and that work brings more productive results. But still the outcome and the results of my work are not productive because I lack in certain knowledge which I have to develop.
