INTRODUCTION Personal development is all about self modifications which involves achievement of high level of self awareness in order to strike ideal amount of work life balance, development of potential and sharpen the existing skills in order to make them appropriate enough to deal with further requirements in context of personal as well as professional career terms (Grace-Odeleye and Santiago, 2019). A good employer is always accountable to enhance and encourage personal development among their workers as it is the major responsibility of them to take the lead towards the betterment of the employees. This report will illustrate the concept which is based upon the mini projects workshops contribution towards the development of employability along with creating a portfolio with the help of using Blackboard portfolio tool. MAIN BODY The ways in which the mini projects workshops contributed towards the development of employability Employability is basically a set of achievements or skills which help to understand personal attributes through which an individual can more likely to get employment opportunities and become successful in their chosen occupations. This technique automatically benefit the person along with the whole community as well (Pardo-Garcia and Barac, 2020). As per my views, the mini projects workshops are highly beneficial in order to enhance the employability aspects within myself which automatically move me towards the fulfilment of my career goals. With the help of attending mini projects workshop on the basis of employability, it has been identified that with the help of attending, so I am able to increase my chances of securing an appropriate job role with the help to develop commercial attractiveness towards prospective employers. With the help of such workshops, I am able to enhance my employability abilities which also enables me to stay in a job role for longer duration of time frame as the workshops are designed specifically in a way which provides me great level of chances in order to gain employment along with enhancement in my self awareness, decision-making, self-confidence, emotional intelligence, personal well-being as well as self motivating skills. With the help of mini projects workshop, I am able to gain certain level of practical experiences. Even though all 1
the projects are not solely related and relevant to the field of my study or my career but then also I gained something from each activity that has been involved within the workshop. With these workshops I can say that now I am equipped with new and advanced skills which includes both soft as well as hard skills. These skills definitely enables me to make me succeed at the workplace in my future career terms (Ayala Calvo and Manzano García, 2021). Moreover, the mini projects workshops also enables me make and maintain a portfolio of my prime work through which I can show off my hard work that has been saved into physical format along with I also identified my weaknesses as well as strengths which also further enhance my personal as well as professional opportunities. Workshops do work over such things because employment skills, work readiness skills or foundational skills are the required to improve in order to enhance the performance level of an individual, minimizes errors, promote collaboration with the co-workers and helps in order to perform the role in the most effectual manner. 12 Documents Mind mapping Mind mapping refers to the diagram and representation of any task which helps in better understanding in this items and concepts are related to the centralized information (Astawa, 2019). It covers the writing down the main theme, as it helps in focusing on the key points so that one can easily made the connection, it gives the ability to map the knowledge in a manner that helps in better understanding and for retaining the information. With the help of the mind map one can easily develops the new learning and it also helps in encouraging the creativity and improvises the productivity. Research skills It refers to the individual’s ability for finding and evaluating the useful information regarding the specific topic. Skills of researching is most important as it helps in conducting the study in an appropriate manner also for the students it plays an significant role for building the knowledge. In this learn also commit to improvise their skills and decides to take part in many activities so that it leads them to better achievement of goals.As for the learner it is beneficial as it helps in managing the career and also guides to lay out structured planning of future. CV Curriculum vitae gives the summary of one’ experience and skills, it is an short accounting for the individual’s career and qualification that is typically prepared by the applicant to achieve the desirable position. Therefore, for the learner it is foremost to know how to write CV that consists of all the details and so that it helps in highlighting the skills that looks attractive to the potential employers (Borisenkov, Gukalenko and Pustovoitov, 2019). Leadership skills Leadership is the ability in individual to make other influence by the action. It is the responsibility which the person plays in order to lead their team to set their desired goals of accomplishment (Setyowati, Sari and Habibah, 2018). Thus, this skill is important and plays a significant role in every aspect. Leader’s must have the decision-making, communication skills so that team will be motivated and cleared about their roles and duties. Thus, it helps in achieving the goals and objective. Therefore, in team project individual plays a leader’s role to lead the team so that task can be completed with greater efficiency. Presentation skills Presentation skills mainly refer to the transferring or conveying of the clear information to others, if there is better presentation skills then ultimately it helps in understanding the mind-set of the others. It helps in engaging with the others so better sharing of the knowledge is found that leads to enhance knowledge as well as builds the confidence for speaking in front of large audience. Therefore, for the learners it is foremost skills, tutor always allow individuals to speak on topic in activities as it develops the presentation skills with this other time management and communication can also improve. Time management Time management refer to the efficient process of arranging and planning to divide the time for carrying out the specific activities. For every purpose time management skills is necessary it helps in completing the work within a time frame, that also leads to create a good impression of one over the other. There are many aspects with respect to this skill which is active listening, empathy, observation. Communication skills plays a crucial role that made an individual to efficiently interact with others without being fear of anything (Asmoro,and Prayitno, 2021). Thus, for the better career opportunities this skill is must it can be improved by asking peers to give feedback, reading and also to take part in group activities and debate functions that helps in building this skill. Decision making This skill states that it enables an individual in order to make the best possible choices by identification of collected information and assessing it with suitable alternative solutions. With the help of step by step decision procedure, one can make more deliberate decisions along with organizing relevant information. With this, one can able to enhance the chances of choosing the most satisfying alternative possible. It is based upon three aspects which includes the tactical, statistical and operational (Peeters and et.al., 2019). Hence, for effective management and leadership, this ability is extremely required. Therefore, for better career development especially into the leadership roles,this plays a major role as it saves time, foster respect, motivate others, prevents conflicts and increase productivity. Motivation This ability is a kind of desire within an individual which requires changes either in the self or within the environment. This generates a sense of critical analysis and with this one can able to resolve issues and problems along with provide effectual answers to the challenges in most suitable manner. Career action plan is another document that is being learned at the time of attending workshops as this includes the active management of the overall career along with the structured planning of the future terms of an individual. In order to effectively plan the whole career, one havetoconsidertheirskillset,personalityanddesiredrolealongwiththechanging requirements of the job role within the market place. This helps an individual to set their goals, clarify the actions that are highly in requirement of achieving their professional as well as personal goals. In context of team work, it has been evaluated that team work is greatly significant as when work is divided up among varied members of a team, then with the help of 6
team efforts it gets done in fast manner and making the overall business operate into more effectual manner. In accordance with the enhancement of appropriate time management abilities, this ability enables an individual to prioritize their tasks so that they can make sure about the given time which has been provided to complete the projects. This automatically enhances the quality ofworkasthisinvolvespropermanagementoftheworkwhichleadtowardsproper management of the tasks and do not develop a situation of rush to complete it with fast approaching deadline. With the help of appropriate communication, one can able to explain the roles and responsibilities along with the requirements of the tasks in the most appropriate manner (Morris and et.al., 2018). This makes all the employees highly productive as well as engaged in order to complete their tasks. Moreover, for communication, proper listening is also equally important because without this nobody is able to identify the final requirements of the tasks. Apart from this, the documents related to leadership is the thing which highly able to bring out the best abilities among an individual or other team members along with motivate them to work together in order to achieve a shared goal. CONCLUSION From the above report it has been concluded that employability plays a major role in order to make and prepare an individual to work towards the betterment of their career. In order to enhance it, various mini projects workshops were conducted which assist in order to enhance the career opportunities by enhancing the employability skills among an individual.
