CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Overview of the research
Employees are the main part of all the business organization as they perform their duties
to attain determined goals and objectives. For increasing their loyalty and commitment, company
provide various benefits, training programs, performance appraisal and many more. With the
help of this company develop their loyalty and commitment as well. In addition of this, loyalty
consider as faithfulness which directly contribute in attaining their commitment towards the
organisation (Ambad and Bahron, 2012). In this context, manager play vital role in managing as
well as developing new strategies to enhance workers motivation at workplace so that they
effectively perform their duties and attain desirable results. Mainly, employee loyalty and
commitment refer to values, attitude, belief and additional efforts which may helps in attaining
the set goals and objectives of the company. The Lanesborough is a hotel which provide various
services to customers and at the same time also make their workers loyal towards their roles and
responsibilities. It is luxury hotel which offer acclaimed dining, a cocktail bar and a luxe spa. For
attaining success, hotel adopt new and effective strategies to attain workers commitment and
loyalty as well.
1.2 Background of the Research
Employees loyalty and commitment refer to an effective process which define workers
attitudes, behaviour, belief and so on that directly affect the business activities. In this,
employees are major part of company as they perform their duties to attain set goals and
objectives. Trust and loyalty have more complex to give and obtain within the organization. Both
are the vital for company to make their workforce strong and happy as well. This will helps in
attaining success at marker place. For attaining the same, manager should provide motivation to
all the employees to get their commitments towards the company and its activities also. In
context of The Lanesborough, they also tries to attain workers loyalty and commitment to
improve their performance. The main aim of this research is to analyse the importance of
employee loyalty within the company to attain set goals and objectives (Chimote and Srivastava,
2013).
