1. TITLE To identify the impact of motivation on employee productivity within UK hospitality industry 2. BACKGROUND Motivation refers to the process in an organisation which makes business successful, creates productive & efficient workforce, ensures attainment of objectives and many more. Motivation refers to the process which highlights the inducement or incitement to move or act. It is the procedure to induce the employees of a company to attain objectives and goals of the organisation (Bajrami and et. al., 2021). Employees are the most vital and essential resource in the organisation because they are responsible for conducting business operations and functions so that they can achieve their own targets as well as company's objectives. Thus, it becomes the responsibility of the company to encourage, empower and motivate workforce in the workplace. The procedure of motivation plays significant role in a company, non-profit or profit. The managerial procedure of direction is created created mainly by the procedure of motivation. It is generally created in the mind of employees the desire to operate in the direction identified by the leaders and managers (Ozkeser, 2019). Thus, it shows that motivation in an organisation is very important because it is directly linked with increasing productivity, ensuring organisational efficiency, ensuring loyal workforce, facilitating direction and ensuring a reactive workforce (OlusadumandAnulika,2018).Thus,thisreportcoversdetailedinformationaboutthe motivation of employees within an organisation. 3. LITERATURE REVIEW Explain basic understanding regarding the motivation along with its types used by UK hospitality industry? According to Manganelli and et. al., (2018), motivation refers to the term which stimulates people to operate to the best of their capabilities, by giving them with great purposes, which are generally based on their unfulfilled requirements and needs. Thus, in simpler words motivation is procedure to stimulate people to work to attain their desired objectives and goals. Motivation is known as psychological phenomenon which comes within an individual and it is dependent upon requirements of an individual and it clearly shows that it behavioural concept. On the other hand, extrinsic motivation refers to the inducement induced by any type of external drive. Therefore, motivation is essential in the workplace and it can be monetary benefit, self-esteem, appraisal etc. What are the motivation theories along with their application for Hilton? As per the view of Gorenšek (2020), motivation is one of the concepts that hold great significance in the organisation because productivity of employees get increased and improved. Some of the significant motivation theories applied by Hilton in the workplace are: Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory:It is one of the popular motivation theories within Hilton because it helps in timely identification of the needs and requirements of employees working in the hotel (Heyns and Kerr, 2018). This is applied by Hilton so that survival needs, security needs, sense of belonging needs, self-actualisation needs etc. can be identified and fulfilled. Through this theory employees are satisfied in the organisation and stay in the company for longer duration. Herzberg'smotivationtheory:TheothersignificanttheoryappliedbyHiltonis Herzberg's motivation theory. In this theory, employees are encouraged based on the influence made by their leaders and they way they get job satisfaction. In this leaders create motivation strategies in the workplace such as compensation, bonus, flexible working environment etc. What is the impact of motivation on employee productivity within Hilton? According to Mahmoud and et. al., (2020), motivation is one of the concepts in Hilton that holds great importance because its success is directly dependent over motivation level of employees. It is believed that there is strong impact of employee motivation over employee productivity in the workplace. It is quite crucial in the organisation for increasing job retention and satisfaction among employees. Employee motivation increases productivity and performance ofworkersintheorganisation.Greatlevelofemployeemotivationpositivelyimpacts productivity of the employees (Jarupathirun and De Gennaro, 2018). Motivation strategies stimulate the creation of high and better quantity work. When employees are motivated and empowered in the organisation, they put their best efforts to meet organisational objectives and

targets. Thus, there is positive implication of employee motivation on the productivity of employees working in hotel. What are the challenges that Hilton could be faced in the absence of motivated employees at workplace? According to Chinyamurindi and Tsvangirai (2019), an organisation adopts different motivation strategies for empowering and encouraging workforce in the workplace. However, employees do not get satisfied with the strategies of organisation. Thus, an organisation has to face many challenges due to absence of effective motivation strategies in the workplace. Some of the challenges are given below: Unattainedtargets:Oneof the challengesisunattainedtargetsand goalsof the organisation. When employees are not satisfied they do not put efforts on completing their assigned roles, responsibilities and duties. Thus, this becomes barrier in the path of attaining company's objectives. High employee turnover:The other challenge faced by Hilton is high employee turnover. When employees do not get satisfied in the workplace and their needs remain unfulfilled then they make decision of switching to another company by leaving the current one (Hicklenton, Hine and Loi, 2019). More chaos and disputes:Due to lack of employee motivation in the organisation, employees and managers clash due to burden of work. This creates more chances of chaos and conflicts in the organisation as employees are not being praised for their hard work in the workplace. 4.RESEARCHAIM,OBJECTIVES,QUESTIONSANDPROBLEM STATEMENT OF THE RESEARCH Research Aim To identify the impact of motivation on employee productivity within UK hospitality industry: A study on Hilton Research Objectives To increase basic understanding regarding the motivation along with its types used by UK hospitality industry To identify the motivation theories along with their application for Hilton To determine the impact of motivation on employee productivity within Hilton
To examine the challenges that Hilton could be faced in the absence of motivated employees at workplace Research Questions Explain basic understanding regarding the motivation along with its types used by UK hospitality industry? What are the motivation theories along with their application for Hilton? What is the impact of motivation on employee productivity within Hilton? What are the challenges that Hilton could be faced in the absence of motivated employees at workplace? Research Problem The main problem determined in the present investigation is that employees are the most significant asset in the organisation. However, these employees lack in motivation in the workplace due to unavailability of competitive rewards & benefits, lack of flexible working schedule and burden of excessive work. Eventually, this becomes barrier for hotel in achieving their goals and targets (Holston-Okae and Mushi, 2018). Hotel has to face many challenges due to absence of motivation and encouragement among their employees. 5. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY It is the chapter that gives methods for the collection, analysis and evaluation of information in a systematic way. Investigator will follow Saunders research onion framework because it gives layers that help in the systematic collection and analysis of information. Some of the research methods that will be considered by researcher for meeting research aim, objectives and questions are: Research Philosophy:It is topmost layer of the onion framework and it provides certain set of principles and belief for the evaluation of information in a systematic way (Snyder, 2019). This gives two major kinds that include: positivism and interpretivism philosophy. Researcher will select positivism philosophy because it facilitates in the evaluation and examination of quantitative piece of information a systematic manner. The main advantage which will be gained by researcher through positivism philosophy is that it takes out relevancy of numerical data to meet pre-defined research aim and objectives. Research Approach:The other layer of Saunders research onion framework is research approach. The approach gives detailed information about theories that assist in evaluating and
analysing information (Newman and Gough, 2020). This is mainly categorised into two forms that include: inductive and deductive approach. Investigator will use deductive approach because researcher has limited time and this assists in using establishing theory for analysing the information. The main benefit in relation to deductive approach is that it assists in analysing and evaluating assembled numerical piece of information. Research Strategy:It is the research method that helps researcher to collect information with the assistance of several strategies. There are several strategies of research that include: grounded theory, action research, case study, survey, interview, systematic literature review etc. Investigator will two research strategies which are: systematic literature review and survey as the research strategy (Cr, 2020). Researcher will be using survey as the research strategy because it helps in accumulating numerical information in raw format. The main benefit of using the survey is that it assists in getting outcome which could be easily measured and shown with graphical presentation. Researcher will also use systematic literature review for the collection of secondary piece of information. This includes second-hand data which are generally opinions and views of different authors. Research Choice:This is the method of research methodology that assists investigator to identify right type of information need to be collected so that objectives could be met. This is of two kindsthatare:qualitativeandquantitativeresearchchoice.Investigatorwillchoose quantitative research choice so that numerical piece of information can be assembled. The main benefit of using quantitative research choice is that it collects insights, figures and facts which are numerable in nature (Zangirolami-Raimundo, Echeimberg and Leone, 2018). With the assistance of quantitative choice, researcher will easily show data in graphical form so that reader can easily interpret the gathered data. Data Collection:It is one of the significant method that accommodates in the collection of appropriate and relevant information in a systematic manner. Majorly, this is categorised into two forms which are: primary and secondary data collection. Researcher will select primary method with the purpose of accumulating raw information. Raw information describes that this kind of information has notcarried out earlier in relation to the selected research topic. Researcher will select questionnaire as an instrument because it includes close-ended questions in a systematic manner. The main benefit of questionnaire is that information is directly recorded from the source of data. On the other hand, secondary data collection method will be considered

to accumulate second-hand insights, figures and facts. Some of the secondary sources are: books, newspapers, journals, publications, articles and so on. Sampling:It is another significant research methods that accommodates in selecting right type of human participants. Involvement of human participants in the investigation increases the scope and relevancy of the proposed study. It is of two kinds that are: probability and non- probability sampling. Investigator will select probability sampling so that large number of representatives can be selected and data can be assembled from them. Researcher will be selecting 30 managers from Hilton Hotel to accumulate information about impact of motivation strategies on productivity of employees. DataAnalysis:Ithastwomainkindsthatare:thematicanalysisandfrequency distribution analysis. Researcher will be using frequency distribution analysis so that numerable data can be analysed and examined. MS-Excel will be used by researcher to make graphs of the assembled data. Ethical Consideration:There are certain ethical principles which will be followed by investigator. Researcher will minimise the risk of harm for respondents, get informed consent, maintain confidentiality etc. 6. TIMESCALE Time refers to the element necessary for conducting any study. The current study will use Gantt chart as time scheduling chart. This chart assists in assigning proper time to each activity and task according to their nature so that pre-defined objectives and aim of the suds could be attained. Thus, this chart includes two sections, one is assigned for all the activities and the other one is appropriate time to complete each activity and task.
