Non-verbal communication helps in adding information to the messages humans
send. It includes your gestures, tones, facial expression which helps in engaging in the
human interactions. It is used by the humans to complement, substitute and emphasize
on what humans are saying. Humans can express their gratitude, happiness and
confidence by responding non-verbally. One of the studies reviewed that, it was found
out that teachers who use more non- verbal and verbal communications, the students
have good academic progress. Non- verbal Communication helps in making the
communication process easy and attractive.
Non Verbal communication with Children's
Facial expressions- The human face is extremely attractive and is able to give
countless expressions to children's without saying a word. This facial expressions are
given through eyes, lips. The expressions for fear, happiness, sadness, anger are same
between cultures. Children can easily understand the mood of the person by checking
its facial expressions.
Body Movement and postures: Body movements and postures includes the way
people sit, talk or walk. A persons body postures helps in identifying that how much
they are confident. It must be developed in the person in there are early age which
helps them in boosting there motivation. It plays a huge role in the growth and
development of the child. It can be encouraged in children's through exercising,
playing outdoor games and by setting an active indoor games. The regular movement
of children helps in physical and mental development of child.
Hand gestures: While talking, people often make hand movements known as
gestures. Our hand gestures play an important role in helping child remember and
learn. There are many ways to promote your child use of hand gestures.
Eye Contact: Eye contact is the important part in non-verbal communication. The
way people looking at someone helps in communicating and helps in knowing the
person's interest and attractions. It helps in maintaining the conversation and tells
about the other person's responses.
An effective Non- verbal communication includes three components:
•Identifying the method and modes of communication that helps best to ensure a good
interaction.
•Motivating humans to often use the modes which helps in better communication.
•Creating and practicing other methods which helps in communication

For example-
Hold the objects in your daily interactions with child.
Do gestures that shows the meaning of the word.
Try to use gestures and words together.
Try to make gestures a part of your daily interactions with
child.
