Nursing Issues and Trends 2 Nursing Issues and Trends Solution 1 The Millennium Development Goals (referred as MDGs) were the 8 initiatives those were established as international development goals during the year 2015 by the United Nations. In this context, these 8 MDGs are the presenters of a unique world compact. In my opinion, best advantage of MDGs is that they have derived from the UN Millennium Declaration, that was signed from 189 countries and hence the MDGs profit through an internationalpoliticalsupport(UnitedNationsDevelopmentProgramme,2015).MDG initiatives were taken to eradicate poverty, illiteracy as well as ill-health from all over the world. MDG initiatives within health sector helped to stop women dying during their pregnancies as well as child birth; to save young children suffering from ill-health following death; as well as to tackle the severe communicable diseases like HIV-AIDS(Sachs, 2012). As we know that unless we will be able to deal with the fundamental health issues of the world, we will not be able to succeed in any other field of global development, hence MDG initiatives and their accomplishment has is essentially useful for our community well-being (United Nations Development Programme, 2015). In addition, a community nurse also plays an important role while accomplishing MDGs within related to global health sector. In this context, while attaining the MDGs of decreasing child mortality rates, cultivating maternal-health, as well as combating chronic diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and community nurses are playing an integral role to make a globe of difference within the lives of people as well as rest populations(World health organization, 2015).In this way, the MDGs vision is to have a better as well as fairer world and that will fail unless we will put more efforts for improving the health of global public which is only possible with the support of community nurses(WOOGARA, 2011). Solution 2 In the recent era, U.S. health-care institutions or facilities are struggling to fill present registered nurse staffing vacancies. In addition, more critical nurse shortage has been predicted during the near 20 years. Hence, in response many health care institutions of United States as well as other industrial nations are putting their resources into addressing the
Nursing Issues and Trends 3 nursing issues and trends by recruiting foreign nurses. Although, such institutions are spending many resources on recruiting foreign nurses to avert the future risk of shortage of efficient nurses and it is getting a quick-growing private sector business yet this nursing issue or trend can also be addressed through working into the right direction. In this way, my opinion over this nursing trend is that the US health care entities should try to manage resources in such a way that local or regional nurses can be retained and make satisfied while working at their workplaces as this issue may lead to an excessive shortage of nurses in near future. In whole, writer’s opinion suggest thatIf the United States as well as other industrial nations will put their national resources for fixing the nursing problems then the need of recruiting foreign nurses will be decreased to a large extent.
