Q1. Examples of effective, ineffective and teamwork:
1. Effective communication and collaboration have highlighted during the communication
between Rosie and Julia, after clear indication of deterioration of the patient, Alfie. It has
been seen that Rosie identifies the degradation and Julia, her preceptor positively observes
the changes in the patient.
2. The MET team has showed the right patient clinical communication after the information
of the deterioration and the changes in Alfie's vital signs.
3. Alfie’s handover procedure from the supervision of Julia and MET team as they could not
be found taking proper actions of ISBAR. Tamsin, the MET team nurse, has been seen to be
inattentive to the patient during the handover; thus, various questions were repeated
unnecessarily.
4. In the video, it has been observed that patient deterioration has not been correctly recorded.
On the other hand, everyone doing separate things and also talking over and over. Thus the
effectiveness of every task was lacking. Tamsin and Rosie have been seen doing the same
thing and also interacting with Kelli for the same outcome.
Q2. Effect on Patient:
Communication or interaction plays a key role in health care setting, and it has rapid
impact on mental and physical condition of patient. Factor of the communication helps in the
proper knowledge gathering about the feelings, state and requirements of the patient (Meuter
et al., 2015). Hence, useful or productive communication would be done with the help of
health records of the patient and letting the patient know about his or her condition.
On the other hand, the communication would be helpful in the trust build up between
the patient and the nurse who would be useful in the further assessment of the patient. Thus it
can be stated that communication is one of the tools that would help provide improved care to

the patient. Hence, patient-centred care and also providing high quality care would be the
aspect which can be achieved by effective communication with the patient. On the other
hand, effective communication would effectively motivate and develop positive mental
aspect of patient. It would be helpful in the event of the better health condition of the patient.
However, ineffective communication would be the aspect that leads to an unproductive
situation and also provides no bright output. The ineffective communication would be the
aspect which lacks the 3 Cs that are the clarity, completion and conciseness (Alert, 2017).
Thus the ineffective communication would affect the mental condition of the patient as it
leads to the unproductive information development and also the development of the anxiety
in the patient mind. Hence, it can be stated that the aspect of communication is one of the
elements that impact both positive and also a negative way. Thus the factor of the connection
should be used as the proper tools for the care providence (Foronda, MacWilliams &
McArthur, 2016). Hence, it can be seen that communication is one of the tools that would
help provide improved care to the patient. Hence, patient-centred care and also providing
high quality care would be the aspect which can be achieved by effective communication
with the patient.
Effect on Staff:
Effective communication would be a tool for the health care staffs that are the nurses,
physicians and others to gather knowledge about the patient. The effective communication
would be the factor that helps in the proper knowledge gathering and providing the care by
adhering to that information. Hence, this factor refers to the achievement of appropriate
account of health care provision (Epstein et al., 2017). Thus the aspect of communication has
a significant impact on the staff mental and professional point. It also would be the factor that
helps in the proper assessment of the patient and also developing the therapeutic relationship
