General Assessment Information
This Project Tasks Booklet contributes to competency in the following units:

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to foster and enhance the holistic
development and wellbeing of children from birth to 6 years of age.
The unit applies to educators working in a range early education and care service settings.
CHCECE018 Nurture creativity in children
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to nurture creativity in children.
The unit applies to educators who work with children in a variety of education and care services.
All assessments are conducted in accordance with the Wyndham CEC’s Establishing and
Applying Decisions for Satisfactory Completion Procedure. If you cannot undertake the
assessment task at this time, you must discuss this with your Trainer/Assessor before you
commence the assessment task.
Assessment outcomes
The outcomes for all assessment tasks are Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory. If a task outcome is
Not Satisfactory, re-assessment may be negotiated with the Trainer/Assessor. Students may be
re-assessed on two occasions for each assessment task.
When all assessment tasks for a unit of competence have a Satisfactory outcome Competence in
the unit may be recorded.
Appeals
If you are unhappy with an assessment outcome you may appeal the assessment decision. Refer
to Wyndham CEC’s Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.

Project Tasks Booklet Instructions to students
There is one project in this Booklet. Each project has specific instructions that relate directly to
that project and provide direction to you on the project. Read the directions for each project
carefully to ensure you understand what is required.
You can ask your Trainer/Assessor for clarification of the tasks. Your Trainer/Assessor can assist
you with ideas and give you feedback as you work through the projects.
 Ensure you write clearly when your project is not typed.
 Use a pen to complete the hand written parts of the projects.
 If there are separate pages to your project, ensure each page has your name on it and
the name of the project.
 In some projects you will be able to use a range of other implements such as paints,
textas, or other materials to meet the requirements of the project.
 Attach a coversheet to each project.
 Ensure you write your name neatly on each cover sheet.
 You must attempt all projects.
 Sign your name and date the coversheet for each project when completed.
 Email the projects to your Trainer/Assessor as you finish them.
 Your Trainer/Assessor will compare your projects to the information in the marking guide
to determine if your projects are satisfactory.
 You will be given feedback by your Trainer/Assessor on your projects.

Project Four – Nurturing creativity in children
A. Plan three learning experiences in your centre for children of varying age groups to
encourage them to initiate their own experiences, collaborate creatively with each other
and to develop techniques and skills for using different materials (including open ended
natural materials) and equipment.
Experiences must include one of each of the following:
1) Music and Movement
2) Construction/architecture/inventions
3) Dramatic/imaginative Play
Prior to implementation of each learning experience, you are required to write up how you will set
up the activity, what resources you will need. This will need to be discussed with your supervisor.
Navigate through the approved learning framework (EYLF) to include the outcomes that respond
to children’s interests, strengths, ideas and curiosity during play
Once you have planned and implemented the learning experiences for your chosen group of
children you are to write one Group learning story on one learning experience and another
observation of your choice on a different experience using the centres template. What
modifications would you make, from the observations taken to stimulate the children’s interest
and involvement?

Experience 1
Date: Age group:Three to Six year old
Name of experience: jumping with music.
Description of experience:
The activity which has chosen for the children in developing their experience through the
activity are the jumping with the music. The area of jumping is on the flat surfaces which help
the children in increasing the balancing and the coordination. The jumping with the music
activity has included the bouncing and wiggling. The jumping with music is very helpful for
the children and increase the physical experience of the children because it increase the
holistic approach of the children. The holistic approach of the children will enhance though
this activity because the jumping help in body exercise, improve the cardio vascular health,
increase bone density and the muscle strength while music increase their concentration
level, emotional level and the interaction level of the children. I have played the poem in form
of song because the children are very eager to learn the poem and poem also increase their
movement in jumping. The children are seems very happy during the jumping with music
because they have enjoyed the jumping due to their music. The jumping with the music
increase the motor function and help the body and mind of the children to work together
music help the children in increasing their experience of learning the sounds and the
meaning of the words. The jumping with the music increase the different opportunities for the
children and help the children in increasing their problem solving ability, cognitive growth, self
expression. I have played the rhymes which can connect the sound to the jumping act for
increasing the movement of the children. The children also nurture their creativity in dancing
through this activity by using the props of the jumping. The children in this activity has
enjoyed a lot, I have experience the happiness of the children on her face and that satisfy me
well and provided the opportunity to develop my action in making the such type of activity
more experience full for the children in future.

learning framework. The jumping with music has increased the learning of the children. The
jumping with the music has strengthen bone and muscle of the children. The music help in
increasing the creativity in children and also help in well being of the children. The jumping with

ability which help them in walking, sitting and the dressing. The jumping help the children in
increasing their climbing activity because it increase the physically activity and help the

(2)The learning goal for the children through the jumping with the music are to enhance their
climbing skill, cognitive skill. The goal of this activity also includes the improving of the
balancing ability and muscle coordination of the children. The goal of the this activity is to
strengthen the speed of the mind and increase the body and the mind coordination.

activity are the utilising the visual aids. I have played the video of jumping to their children
before starting the experience. The visual aids help the children in absorbing the information
and providing the proper way which help them in jumping activity. The visual aids increase their
ability of learning the new skill and increase the engagement of the children in the activity. The
children learn more through the demonstration process so visual aids is very helpful in
increasing the experience of the children through jumping with the music activity.
(4) I have guide the children regarding the proper jumping techniques and help them in
maintaining the synchronise way during the activity. My these experience will help the children
in proper coordination of the jumping with the music of the children.
(5)The given experience can be extend by adding the different fun activity and reward activity
through the jumping with music. I have scaffold the learning and skill of the children by
observing activity of every child during the experience. I will also demonstrate the activity to the
children in the starting and assist them in between the experience.
(6)I have monitor the surface before the activity properly and also checked the quality of mat
that it is soft, not slippery and help the children in balancing their body. The shoes has hard
sole which help the children in proper jumping. I have also provide the helmet which has high
durability and easy accessible to the children. I have also ensure that the volume of the sound
is moderate and song are matching the rhythm of the jumping.
(7)I have guide the children in their experience and monitor their activity during the learning
experience. I have also arranged the proper queue of the children so that it can reduce the
conflict and collide to each other.
(8)I will gather the children and tell them that the no idea is bad idea and tell them story in
which a child has helped the another person by using their creativity. After story I allow them to
tell their creativity experience. The story help them in asking the open ended question. I would
help the children if they had experience any problem by listening their problem properly. I will
call the children separately and guide them properly regarding the activity. I also talk to him in
very polite way so that they can share their problem to me without any hesitation.
(9)I will share my enthusiasm by clapping, smiling after the creative effort and encourage the
children also to respect and appreciate the creative effort of the children by tell them also to
clap, smile and shake hands of their team mates during the activity.
(10)No there was no opportunity for children to work alone or self directed or work with a
partner because jumping needs no partner. The working alone also not create enthusiasm in
the children.

Experience 2
Date: Age group: Three to Six year old
Name of experience: Shake Home made instruments.
Description of experience: (make sure your points address the criteria above)
The children were asked to make some instrument using the home made things which
make some noises like Bottles, small boxes, pebbles, small stones, rice, small rings,
lentils, dried peas and beans which make sound. The children were also guided to not put
so much things in it and made some space so that the things can shake well and make
better sound. With the home made instruments, children are assisted to shake them with
the count of four make a rhythmic sounds. The children are also excited for doing this.
They are happy to so many types of diverse instruments from the regular things which
they see on daily basis. The children are also curious about the sound which the different
instruments are making. They are playing each other instruments and listening to their
sounds. The children are guessing the materials from which the instruments are made
from. They are enjoying to move or shake the home made instruments on the counting.
The children were trying to make different sound by themselves such as by bouncing the
instruments, by light shaking or sometime harder shaking and enjoying the different kinds
of sound produced by doing this different moves. The children attentively listening for the
count Four so that the can shake the home made instruments.

The musical activities stimulates the brain and this leads to improved brain structure and the
formation of the new neural connections. This activity is helping the children in holistic
development and also nurturing their creativity. The making of the instruments with the
material present at the home enhances their creative skills. The experiments for the
development of musical instruments promote development in several ways. It is developing
fine and gross motor skills. This activity include Movement, hearing, balancing the instrument
while shaking it for instance light shaking will generate different sounds and harder shaking
will generate different sounds thus this activity supports the sensory development also. This
activity contentiously engage the children and enhance their ear- hand coordination as they
have to shake the instrument on the count of four. This activity will also enhance their
patience as they have to wait for the count 4 for the shaking.

1. There are fifteen children in the group with various home made instruments.
2. The learning goal for the children during the engagement in this activity of shaking the
home made instruments is that the children must develop the cognitive skills. The
activity must enhance their creativity. Another goal of this activity was also to develop
the coordination skills and the motor skills among the children.
3. An active learning strategies and along with the experimental learning strategy is used
while performing this activity. Through active learning the activity of home made
instrumentation shaking is done which engages the children in deep thoughts about the
instrumentation and with the experimental learning the children are actively engaged in
experimenting the instruments and are creative and curious about the sounds.
4. The educator guided the children in using the instrumentation and the amount of
materials in side the instrument in order to produce the better music. The educator also
guided the children to co ordinate or synchronise in best possible way. By this the
educator has develop the creativity in children through their own experience.
5. The children will given some time and asked to make the sound in rhythm without the
counting which was provided before. The students are also asked to make use of
others instrumentation and develop some sounds. The educator can assist the children
with some recording instruments to record their produced sounds. During all this the

educator must encourage and appreciate those children who are making efforts in the
activity so that they can get motivated and enjoy the process.
6. For the safety considerations, Few volunteers are assigned who will at alert when any
student get injured by the instruments or during the activities and provide them with the
first aids. The children's are always in supervisions and gets assisted whenever they
need some sort of help. The children are provided with an open and clean space to
avoid any kind of chaos.
7. The role of the educator during the activity are support the children in practising the
instrumentation and assist the children in making the different sounds and recording the
sounds. The managing the whole children group and avoid any kind of conflict is also
the role of the educator.
8. The children were asked to describe their experience or asking some question about
their doing during the activity time. By showing interest in the conversation with the
children or in their questions, children's are encouraged to talk about their experience.
9. The enthusiasm are shared by praising the child and supporting them during the
activity. This will help them get evolved an engaged more in the activity. The educator
must appreciated the deserved child and teach other children to appreciate also as this
also maintain the enthusiasm.
10. There are opportunity also present to practise alone and in partnership. The children
can play and produce the music separately and record it and they can do it in
partnership by producing the sound with two different instruments and record it.

Name of experience: Dancing body parts.
Description of experience:
The children were asked to move there body parts which is displayed at the screen when
the music starts. The children are looking very happy and excited to try this new activity.
The children are already trying to move their body parts. When the activity started some of
the students are struggling in co coordinating the body and music. The playing of the music
has increased the involvement of the children because they are experiencing relaxing
environment. The children are happy in this activity because the children are like dance.
The moving part after the visual of body pats increase the curiosity of the children which
can be easily seems in their face. The happy face of the children experience my way of
working and help me also in future. This activity has increased the empathetic power o the
children by increasing their controlling power over the emotion. The children also learn the
spatial awareness better agility and the flexibility which is very important for their physical
strength. I have also experienced the a lot from this activity. I have learned the different
styles of dance, increase the positive relationship, dedication and many more.

this activity the children are improving their flexibility. Through this activity the children are

and self esteem by the real and immediate body actions. This dancing activity encourages
the holistic development as it includes the broad range of strength, movement and the
stamina, engaging different body parts allow the children to construct the core muscles and
boost the balancing strengths. The dancing nurture the creativity as it increases the
creativity and thinking skills with the kinaesthetic abilities. This activity contentiously

(2)The learning goals for the children in engaging the dancing body parts activity are to
increase the flexibility in children, increase the controlling ability of the body parts, strength the
m physical and enhance their mental calmness. The goals of this activity also focus on the
increasing the ability of the children in analysing and responding to the sensory information by
music and unique skill of the dance. The dancing ability also help the children in increasing
their emotion which is very helpful in well being and holistic development of the children.
(3)The teaching strategy which I have used in this experience are the visualising the video. I
have used the video during the dancing program activity because this increase the experience
of the children as well as help help therm in their cognitive development.
(4)The educator know and practices the dance so the benefits and the problems related with
the dance are well known to them. As per the experience, the educator are supervising and
providing support to the children in moving the body parts with causing any injury. The
educator is supporting the children in boosting their flexibility.
(5)The educator can assist the children in moving the multiple part at a one time and also make
the pair of the children start the training of dancing in paring. This will also develop the
partnership skills and balancing and coordination skills. The practice with the partner enables
the children to try some new steps also.
(6)The children are asked to wear the shoes before performing the activities so as to avoid the
falling. Few volunteers are are there to support the children and avoid the injury due to
negligence. Simple and easy ways are considers to execute the activity in order to avoid the
chaos.
(7)The educator role is to assist the children in the coordination and make sure that no one will
get injured due to imbalance. The educator is also encouraging the students and praising the
students do perform well. The educator is also guiding the students in several way in which

they can move the body parts.
(8)I will encourage the children by giving the reward, appreciation. The appreciation of the
children will help the children help the children in asking their question and telling their views. I
will arrange the meeting after the program for talking the children in very politely manner so
that it can increase their confidence of expressing and decrease the hesitation and fear of the
children.
(9)I would share my enthusiasm by clapping and giving the chocolate to the children after the
completion of the activity. I would also develop the ability of the children to encourage other by
telling them story and enhance them to clap and shake hands of their team mates after the
creative effort. The children can also increase the way of appreciation and respect to other
children by smiling.
(10)There are both opportunity to perform individually or in partnership. The children can move
their body parts alone and then can also move their body part in more different ways with the
their partners.
