merchandise business and many more. In Aston Martin, different operations are done on the
daily basis in order to complete task and achieve success. First operation is service business in
this their managers sell intangible products to their customers. Second one is merchandising
business in this their managers sell their tangible goods to their consumers (Geertsen, 2020).
Whereas, Operations management is described to administration of practices of company in
order to create highest efficiency level that are possible at workplace. In Aston Martin,
operations management is related to converting production factor, including materials, labor, etc

costs that suits needs of consumers. Furthermore, operations management in Aston Martin
contributes in reduction of resource wastage, enhancing profits together with ensure satisfaction
of customers through maximizing efficiency (Heigermoser, and et.al., 2019).
A examine and critique of the execution of operations management principles within the selected
firm.
The operational principle management are a group of of different principles in the term of
proper planning, quality controls that assist the firm concern and these are of a potential
utilisation when imposed while guiding the management of the firm to get the wanted results.
Humility: The administration an the firm managers must respect and feel the truth that there are
always few restriction or limitation and so should be ignoring unessential errors and trail in every
situation. Execution of these principle saves a more number of finances and times of the firm and
transmits a positive impact. Accepting these principle potentially in Aston martin would assist
them in potentially decreasing any undesired price which would or else take place.
Reality: According to this principle states that the management and the functions should offer
more concentrations on higher issue against the smaller approaches that a element of the whole
issue. This describe that only using the techniques and tools would never solve the firm's issues
until the management does not attempts to acknowledge the real issue. Execution of this
principle would help Aston martin to acknowledge the usually occurring firm's problems in
better way and solve them impact-fully (Ivankevich, and et.al., 2019).

for handling the firm management better as they are alert of their role precisely and be efficient
and fast with their works (Khan, 2019).
Causality: The problems in the functional activities always provide a previous indication prior
to the literally happening. So to smooth the firms functions this is essential that the firm
managers should potentially recognize those respective reasons and problems and remove those
problems. So the administration and management at Aston martin should be always alert of the
functional assignments and their grade of completion and the problem which are present, if any.
Organization: As the production procedure of the firm is internally associated in whole process.
Therefore, all the components includes should be consistent and predictable. The operational
management will not success to be generating profit it the production strategies is not well
organized as it gives to the firm predictability and consistency. Lack of this principle in Aston
martin will obstruct the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm as the control and planning is not
appropriate (Lee, 2018).
An evaluation of the extent to which the functions management of the enterprises in the case
study fulfils the needs of the firm.
Functional management is an potential elements of a firm review and it gets influenced
by the regular modifications which occur in the market and affect the firm. The operational
principle management assist a business review to appropriate execution of the essential changes
and also make able the firm to put the firm individuality and authenticity strongly. Aston martin
utilities these ideas to resolve the issues associating for its profits and productions maximization
of the firm. Operation management has provided support, fulfilled needs of business and
accomplish the demands of the service user to Aston martin as follows:
These principles aids the management at Aston martin to execute the modifications and
changes presenting in the procedure associated with the production as and at the time
when they are recognized (Loudon, and Morley, 2019). This represents that the
consumers are the firm's first priority and that is targets at satisfying large numbers of
customers. The management at Aston martin therefore evaluates and analyses respective
firm advantages through potentially executing the different business movement.

By the acceptation of all these principles, Aston martin has makes its operational
efficiency better in different manners. This has given to the respective products which are
being fixed demanded in the field and the element of price efficiency is maintained when
targeting to get maximum profit with maximum revenue production (Muscatello, 2022).
Discussion of regular development as a philosophy and define the Lean principles.
Regular development plan is set of various tasks and activities which are framed to get
step wise and small modifications in the firm together with a regular improvement in its services,
business procedures and products. This is completed with the support of regular analyze of
activities, tasks measurement and taking effective and relevant actions.

regular efforts and the potential in the firm to the target of producing and making move value to
the service user of the firm concern. The five lean principles are following:
Defining Value: Value is defined as, a customer intents to pay in replacement to the
service. Main concentration always remains to offer consumers with highest satisfaction
in monetary terms. So Aston martin get success by providing its customer demanded
product and services (Range, 2018).
Mapping of Value stream: Main aim remain finding the different elements which
represent whole value of service. Aston martin targets to implement all such elements
which require to enhance service price.
Generate Flow: this principle ensure that all the various steps in production occur in
simple way.
Pull: This principle making sure that it the availability of product only in the needed
amount and not in excess. Aston martin also follow these principle to get success.
Perfection: This principle occur in four steps and ensure the perfection of the service and
products. Aston martin aims to achieve perfection to get growth and development.
A regular developments plans, consisting the justified recommendations to growth, based on the
critique and re-examine of functions management principles in the enterprises.
Regular development strategy usually reflects the various set of procedures that come
along to help in providing the various alternative and changes as the needed by the enterprises as

in the type of regular modifications and changes. This helps the organisation for increase their
range of services and products and another others business procedures. The regular development
strategy to Aston martin as a business enterprises can be evolved in the given manner:
Plan: It refers to recognising a proper chances and making a plan to achieve growth.
Aston martin effectively evaluates the market that they trade in and then create strategies
on a plan that they want to execute in the enterprises which will assist to increase their
profits together with offering buyer a good experience.
Do: This describes implementation of the strategy initially on a lower level so that the
results get can be analysed, examined and assessed in an simple manner. Aston martin
then executes their plans on a lower level in few of their key stores to evaluates and
examine the outcomes achieved and their potential (Wedel, and Behnezhad, 2019).
Check: it pertains to assessment of the outcomes achieved from the overviewing the
lesson and test executing that were learned in the way of this projection and strategy.
Aston martin then reviews all the respective field where the plan failed to be executed as
aspected and find those area which may come up as a critical condition and task to the
enterprises.
Act: If the test performed functions out in aspected way, then there occurs the
requirement to implementing that respective plan on a very large grade in the enterprises
and evaluate the results and then as per. Aston martin then implements the respective
procedures, law, regulation and policies on a bigger level as to get profit and production
in large amount. The fields that the enterprises feels are still lacking could then be
increased with regular development strategy (Yue, and et.al., 2020).
This is regular cycle process which may even not success sometime so if it happens, the
enterprise is needed to revise the whole process. Then if the strategy executes, it should analyse
and examines the outcome and restart again with a fresh manner to make appropriate
developments.
CONCLUSION
As per the above argument, it has been concluded that operational management and
operations are two various but inter-associated terms. Functions associates to decisions and
process of manufacturing and production however operational managements pertains to
production of maximum efficiency in the enterprises by utilising the various assets and handling

PART 2- PROJECT PORTFOLIO
PROJECT TITLE
The title of the project is constituted for an organisation with an on-site food catering
facility with a total of about 1250 employees. There are loads of activities that happen inside the
business premises, that can cause a lot of distraction and hamper the productivity of employees
mildly impacting the business goals of the organisation. The project highlights the problem of
increased absenteeism in employees. An insight about constant disturbance with ongoing
movements of the employees in the organisation is also mentioned.
AN OVERVIEW ABOUT THE GIVEN CASE STUDY
The given case study mentions the issue of congestion which causes continuous
disturbances within the organisation due to constant movement of employees in and out. There
are about 1250 employees that suffer from the issue of congestion. There is also mention of
designing of an on-site catering service to reduce the intensity of disturbances that hamper the
overall productivity of employees (Wilson, Bhakoo and Samson, 2018). The main aim of this
case study is to intend to solve the issue of congestion as it is negatively impacting the efficiency
of the organisation along with their company output. The movement of employees outside the
premises of organisation, leading to higher consumption of junk food items. The irregularity in
consuming balanced diet leads several diseases affecting the health of employees. Therefore, the
administration of company has taken into account this aspect of employees and decided to bring
forth different strategies for reducing the consumption of junk food items. Bad employee health
has the potential to negatively impact the productivity of the firm. Effective policies and ideas
will help decreasing the conjunction of employees (Mohebbi, 2021). The availability of an on-
site food catering service will prove beneficial for the employee causing them to lead a healthy
and better lifestyle.

This planning showcases the success rate of business organisation. The aim is to completely
assess the overall business value and using the data to secure primary stakeholders of the
organisation (Mahabir and Pun, 2022).
Project Planning
This aspect of the business operation is related to building a roadmap for designing of a
detailed business plan highlighting the business objectives. The objectives are required to be
attained in a given period of time. Planning process is the effective utilisation of available
resources and utilities, which aid in achieving the business targets without hurdles and problems.
There are four major steps for setting up planning process for any business.
Setting practical and measurable objectives
Identification of deliverables
Scheduling of tasks
Planning of tasks (Frederico, 2021)
Project execution
This step involves the practical implementation of business plan for the purpose of
achieving the business aims and objectives. Effective utilization of available resources helps in
accomplishing the organisational goals, as planned by the management team. Project execution
involves the accumulation of resources, research based evidence and findings of the company to
derive the best output for business operation. However, all the essential factors are taken to
consideration related to risk management, business resources and financial necessities. The
business plan is implemented only after ensuring a very low failure rate. The implementation of
project plan is very important as it determines success of the organisation (Muñoz-Villamizar,
Solano-Charris and Romero-Silva, 2021). In context to the given case study, the organisation
must implement measures for elimination of continuous movement by employees outside the
office premises and replacing it with on-site catering facilities or team lunches.
Project Closure
This step highlights the project management principles and results accomplished by
primary business stakeholders. The discussion about project planning and final execution is done
to compare the effectiveness of both these aspects. Furthermore, the assessment of variables is
done by stakeholders to make an effective comparison between desired and achieved outcomes.

An evaluation about profitable results is made. In context to the given case study, the business
organisation will assess control over employee movement through establishment of on site
catering facilities (Gajadhar and Stomski, 2018). These facilities will ensure that employees are
leading a healthy lifestyle.
ANALYSIS OF TOOLS AND PROJECT METHODOLOGIES
Project methodologies: This aspect involves a set of principles which helps business
organisation in organizing and formulating project management principles. This is done to
ensure effective and optimum performance level in employees. Different types of project
methodologies used in planning, initiation and execution of projects in relation to the case study
are given as follows:
Waterfall methodology- This methodology refers to consecutive growth and
development procedures possessing waterfall flow in phases. Each and every phase of the
project initiates after the completion of previous phase of project. The success of the
project relies on each and every step of process. The implementation of each task is
sequential and the probability of errors is very low (Eyers and Naim, 2019). This is
because the project is planned and researched with utmost sincerity and hard work. The
only possible disadvantage is that the adaptability levels during execution and initiation
process is very less.
Agile Methodologies- This methodology is used for projects with short tenure and
involve the use of frequent testing, continuous project adaptations. This particular
methodology is faster, cooperative and highly accessible considering short term projects
in action (Komarova and Galynin, 2022). This methodology is data driven and can be
easily modified by making modification in database during project initiation and
execution.
Project Tools: The use of these tools is employed by organisation for effective initiation
of projects and their successful evaluation. There is use of different tools such as network
diagrams, project evaluation, project documentation tools and review techniques. These
tools aid in maintaining improvements and modifications during the development stage.
These tools assist in the management of organisation along with implementation of
various changes that are necessary (Alhalafi, 2021). These tools allow business managers

execution of needful actions.
A CRITICAL REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF
PLC APPLICATIONS TO PROJECT WITH THE HELP OPF
APPROPRIATE THEORIES AND MODELS
Project life cycle is defined as the steps and processes required for initiation and
completion of projects. Project life cycle is an arrangement of all required project operations
crucial for effective initiation and completion of projects. The sequence of completion of projects
includes steps such as initiation, planning, execution and reviewing of project database. This
enhances the ability of business to identify threats and variations that might have crawled in the
process. The delivery of on site catering services was proven to be an accomplishment in this
particular case study. There was use of various project methodologies along with modern
techniques required for successful completion of the project. Employee satisfaction and
enhanced health of employees were identified as key performance indicators in this particular
case study.
