INTRODUCTION
The recruitment process is described as the ability of managers for typically targeting and
attracting qualified candidates by encouraging maximum job seekers to apply for the vacancy in
business. It is very essential for an organisation as to restrict the over burden of its workers by
delegating the task into more workforce. The organisation selected for this project is Aston Martin
Lagonda Global Holdings as being British independent manufacturer of luxury sports cars and grand
tourers. It was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in 1913, with its Chief Executive
Officer as Andy Palmer at 1st October, 2014. This project determines the use and function of Human
Resource Management which are applied in workforce planning (Alam, 2019). It further analyse
benefits and limitations for recruitment and selection process. The project also examines different
HRM practices that are beneficial for both employer and employees with importance of HRM
practices that are useful in raising organisational profits and productivity. Additionally, it analyse the
importance of employee relations and the key elements of legislations for HRM decision-making
procedure. This project also explains the HRM practices with its illustration for business activities.
TASK 1
P1. Determine the use and functions of Human Resource Management which are
applied in workforce planning
Aston Martin:- The Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings as being British independent
manufacturer of luxury sports cars and grand tourers. It was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert
Bamford in 1913, with its Chief Executive Officer as Andy Palmer at 1st October, 2014. This
organisation is public limited company with its ISIN number as GB00BFXZC448PILA. It is
headquartered in Gaydon, England, United Kingdom. It is branded company with its various brands
that are Aston Martin, Lagonda, etc., and have revenue of US $ 997.3 million in 2019. It further has a
unique website for its company as www.astonmartin.com, www.astonmartinlagonda.com.
Human Resource Management:- It is described as formal system devised for management
of people within an organisation by delegating work in accordance with capability of employees.
Managers of Aston Martin focus on hiring maximum workers as to split the task into various roles
and responsibility to complete the specific task with specialisation (Brands and Fernandez-Mateo,
2015).
Purpose of HRM:- The main purpose of Human Resource Management in an organisation is
to manufacture products and services with differentiated quality as to meet the requirements of
customers. The managers of Aston Martin focus on producing qualitative and luxurious sports cars

that leads end-users to drive it with comfort and enjoy driving. Some of the purpose of HRM is
explained as under:-
Employee Compensation:- It is the main duty and responsibility of managers is to provide
good compensation rates to their employees which encourage them to give their best efforts
while performing their task. The managers of Aston Martin are beneficial as their workforce
is motivated in completing their task within particular duration as to achieve individual and
organisational goals. These rewards are further categorised as monetary and non-monetary
pleasure of bonus, incentives, promotion and performance appraisal.
Improve productivity:- The managers of a company directs and control actions of business
activities by identifying errors and develop strategic decision making procedure to minimise
mistakes (Buxton, 2014). Managers of Aston Martin are advantageous as they improve
productivity by manufacturing sports cars with superior quality at least-cost effective price. It
attracts customers to pay high amount for specialised products in achieving high level of
satisfaction.
Functions of HRM:- The functions of Human Resource Manager are described on the basis
of business activities for making and boosting energy of its workers to complete the task at particular
time period. Managers of Aston Martin focus on these functions as to meet its desired target by
developing customer relationship management for sustaining in global market.
Planning:- The managers of Aston Martin focus on developing strategic decision making
procedure through innovative ideas with creative thinking skills. It results in attracting large
number of customers for purchasing it through specialised designing and features of sports
car.
Organising:- Managers of Aston Martin execute their plan effectively in order to produce the
car as per the desired objective. This leads manager to emphasize leaders for providing
training and development programs to its workers as to increase and update their skills which
restrict errors.
Staffing:- The managers of Aston Martin analyse vacancy in business and further develop the
recruitment and selection process as to hire more workers to fill the vacancy inside the
business. It further staffs the new candidate by describing the job role and responsibility with
its efforts towards business for achieving goals and objectives.
Directing:- Managers of Aston Martin direct its leaders to perform the task within systematic
manner. The leader of Aston Martin further guides its workers to complete the task as per
instruction by developing employee relation to complete their task with engagement and
involvement at specified period (Fumasoli and Goastellec, 2015).
