INTRODUCTION
Operations management refers to the administration of the business actions to create a big
level of efficiency so that company will get the most beneficial results within their overall
operations. It is related to the acquisition of the funds and convert it into the finished product and
output with the help of the company workforce. In this project management is the process in
which several steps are included like initiation, execution, closure in a way to control and
manage the overall actions and work that is essential for the higher success of the organisation.
This report is based on the Bentley that is the leading British manufacturing and marketer of the
Luxury cars that was founded in 1919 by H.M Bentley. The company deals in all over the world
having their operations within the integration of vertical nature so that goods can be
manufactured effectively. This project report is included the study of the principles of operations
management where continuous improvement plan is indulged. For getting the higher success in
the organisation , project life cycle model is very effective and their related theories are also
helpful in examine the operations of the organisation in a prominent manner(Fleming and
Koppelman, 2016).
PART 1
Introduction of chosen organisation
Bentley is the leading British multinational manufacturing and retailing company of the
SUVs and luxury cars. It is a subsidiary company of the Volkswagen group in 1998. It was
headquarter in Crewe, England and founded by H. M Bentley and W. O Bentley. The company
deals in all over the world with the main products like Flying spur, continental GT, Bentayga,
Mulsanne etc. The company mainly focus on the continuous improvement, employee conditions
and their dedication towards the company goals so that achieving targets get easy and effective
and it can be done on specific period of time. There are around 4000 strong manpower that are
working with the firm in all over the globe.
Explanation of operations and operations management
Operations refers to the behaviour and decisions of the employees and managers within
the business firm that will affect the production, distribution, service and management which is
needed for the firm to function the essential resources and assets. In this Operation management
defines the process that undertakes the several processes, plans, activities and equipments under

that the value id included for the business enterprise and it helps in achieving the high quality of
goods in a specify time. In this framework high values is involved in the product of the
organisation. For gaining the higher profits and revenues operation management is a helpful term
that gives the appropriate revenues on the timely basis. It is also categorised as a production
schedule where inputs are converted and transformed in the output and finished goods that shows
the high efficiency of the company. It also helps in gaining the high profits in which intense
manufacturing process is indulged(Heldman, 2018).
Review and critique implementation of operations management principles in case of chosen
organisation
There are some principles that are for the operation management which is follow by the
business enterprise to gain higher profits and revenues by included in the manufacturing process.
It is related to attain the high efficiency that business can hold by adopting the effective
principles. In case of Bentley, in there supply chain management and logistics operations
management principles are followed. Due to this company can get the high end results in their
success. By following these operation management principle business productivity and
efficiency can be enhanced and improved. In case of Bentley these principles can be shown
below.
Variance – It is one of the best usage principle in the business because it provides the
importance to each process that is used in the operations. This type of principle is used to
reduced the overall cost in the supply chain management process. This is essential
process in eliminating the high cost in manufacturing and supply chain management. In
case of Bentley, firm will face the major issues i.e. high expenses in logistics and supply
chain management. Due to this company is planning to hire new skill applicant in supply
chain and logistics department who can work with low cost and gives the high results. As
business enterprise may focus on reducing their operation cost for this hiring new
applicant can be significant that could add more cost in expenses. Due to this it is not
satisfying the needs of the firm so it is prove that it is not suitable for Bentley (Hu and et.
al., 2018).
Organisation – This process is useful when organisation is plan to achieve the more
success than this principles is effective. In this all activities are managed at effective
manner. In this Bentley can adopts the use of high and advanced technology and
