1 Critically discuss the argument presented by the author(s).
The author stated that a company can implement the sustainability program in
several nations with a diverse social-culture environment. In contrast to this, the
literature on the sustainability does not provide clear picture regarding how
national culture can impact the interpretations of the meaning of sustainability as
well as, how these transformations in interpretation can outcome in different
sustainability practices. The author also discussed the ways of identifying the
mechanism related to sustainability beliefs as well as perception, which can
mediate the association among organizational sustainability program and
national cultural value. This paper discusses that cultures low in power distance
as well as high in collectivism, long-term orientation and femininity are a
prospect to keep stronger belief regarding the significance of sustainability.
Moreover, these cultures are high in the individualism; uncertainty avoidance
and short-term orientation are possibly maintaining stronger opinion regarding
the inconvenience of sustainability.

Functionalism paradigm is used in this research, in which, system development
may proceed by using the formal concept, intervention with the rationalistic
methods and tools. It may also enhance the systematic knowledge where people,
software, hardware and rules as physical or formal and considers objective
entities. Structure analysis is used in this research for providing the
methodological understanding regarding national cultural values.
Along with this, Functionalism paradigm can support the investigator and
practitioners to effectively comprehend the meaning related to sustainability in
international business. This paradigm helps to address the system that can
illustrate the relation between sustainability and culture. It can support the
