Question In your lectures, four rationales for organizational analysis are described.
1 Critically discuss the argument presented by the author(s).
In this article, the author is discussing the sustainable initiatives taken by the
organizations in different nations with diverse socio-cultural systems. However,
according to the statement presented by the author, there is no clear literature on the
sustainability regarding how the national culture can affect understandings of the
sense of sustainability and how these alterations in understanding can consequence in
diverse practices of sustainability. The purpose of Jasmine Tata and Sameer Prasad
behind presenting this article is to develop literature by recognizing mechanism that
reconciles the connection between the initiatives of the organizational sustainability
and national cultural values.
2 What is the method - how does the author(s) convince their readers?
The author has presented literature regarding sustainability practices and culture and
trying to convince its readers about the relationship between organizational
sustainability initiatives and national cultural values.
In order to recognize how cultural values affect the sustainability initiates of the
businesses, the author has utilized the conceptual model. In the article, different
propositions have been recognized that stipulate relationships among the constructs
and different procedures as well as guidelines have been presented for the model
testing in the coming future research or studies.
The data collection method that is utilized by the author in this particular article is
secondary data collection method. Along with this, the author has used qualitative
research to present this article.
In order to gather dependable results and qualitative information, the author has used
content analysis for analyzing the data in the article.
According to the argument presented in the article, national culture effects
sustainability beliefs and insights that eventually affect the scope as well as the
quantity of the sustainability initiatives. The connection between organizational
sustainability initiatives and sustainability beliefs is diluted by sustainability direction
and organizational capacity.
According to the analysis of the article, the conclusions are not open to challenges
because it is presenting data in a brief as well as clear manner, which is supporting the
reader in clearly understanding the results as well as information presented.
3 Drawing on your answers from analyzing Q (1) and (2), critically analyse and match
your analysis to the rational given in Lecture 1 for Organisational Analysis
Functionalist paradigm has been utilized in this research by the author. This paradigm
is used to clarify how the individual basics of a social system interrelate to create an
integrated whole. Besides this, system development may be proceeding by utilizing
the official notion, intervention with the rationalistic tools and techniques. It can also
work on improving systematic understanding. Along with this, it can assist the
researcher to efficiently comprehend the sense of sustainability in the study of
international business.
