This article discusses different types of motivation theories that can be used by S-Corporation to motivate employees and achieve organizational goals. INTRODUCTION
Organisational Behaviour can be explained as the process of study of group as well as the
performance of individual which they performs within the premisses of a company. It is
necessary for any of the business because it mainly helps at the time of building the appropriate
relationship through which objective of individual as well as organisation can be accomplished.
In context of the file, the case study of “Calling Dr. Fun: The Struggle To Implement A
Motivating Reward System In A Small S-Corporation” will be solved. Even different types
of motivational theories will be explained in it. The main issues which are being faced within the
case is related with the way of distributing the bonus to employees. It is not being cleared among
the employees that how bonus is required to be given within the organisation which performs
their business activity at a smaller ground. The whole of the case in this respective file revolves
around Tampani Inc.

It is necessary to understand for each and every organisation that must motivate their
employees in every short period of time because that is the only way through which the goals of
an organisation can be accomplished easily. It also allows employees to perform their task in a
systematic manner which is beneficial for company. While talking about the motivation, it is
crucial to understand that motivation can in different form such as bonus, rewards, promotion
which allows employees to think positively towards the business organisation. In this above
given case scenario, there were number of employees who were working in the company was
facing the issues that how company is giving rewards as it is still not clear (Vandenabeele and et.
al., 2015). It is one of the situation due to which employees are in stress as they are unable to
take any of the decision regarding the company because there are some of the employees who are
being paid in higher amount but on the other side of the coin some of the employees are unable
to get the fair amount of motivation while working the company. Even Susan is not clear that
what can be done in this respective situation so that problem can be solved in best possible
manner.
In order to solve all of this respective problem, it will be important for the organisation
like Tampani Inc. to understand that they are needed take the help of motivational theory which

will guide that how company ca motivate their employees and what are the necessary steps that
S-Corporation can take for attaining the goals.
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory
It is one of the most crucial motivational theory which can be used by different business
organisation for the purpose of accomplishing the goals on specific time period. It is the theory
which was proposed by Abraham Maslow in the year 1943 (Aryee, Walumbwa, Mondejar and
Chu, 2015). The concept of this particular theory is clear in which it is important to understand
that once the needs of human are satisfied they moves on to next level where level of needs also
increases. In context of Tampani Inc., they are needed to understand that Maslow's Hierarchy of
needs theory can be one of the most important concept because it can help organisation to
understand that how any of the employees can be motivated which will allow them to work as
per the requirement of company for the purpose of accomplishing the goals on specific time
period. There are five different stages in it which are briefly discussed below:

 Physiological needs: It is needed to be understood that any of the people requires air,
food, water, shelter, clothing and many more to satisfy their life. This are the basis

requirement which is needed to be fulfilled. If this needs can be fulfilled then individual
can ensure that they can survive in this respective world without facing any of the issues.
In context of Tampani Inc., Susan is required to understand that how they are needed to
perform their any of the task for fulfilling the basis needs of their employees because if
all of this needs will not be fulfilled then there are no chances that human body can
perform any of the task in a systematic manner.
 Safety needs: It is second most important stage of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs where
employees thinks that they must be provided some of the basis needs related to their
safety. It is one of the way through which employees can feel safe while working within
the working as their mindset will be constant that they are being provided proper safety
which is required within the human life (Karanikas, 2015). In context of Tampani Inc.
their management is needs to make clear in front of the employees that they are working
in the organisation where their job is totally secured. This will allow employees to bring
stability within their work.
 Social Belongingness: .Whenever both of the above needs are fulfilled, it is necessary to
understand that social belongingness is crucial for any of the business organisation. Here,
some of the basis things which are required by the employees are friends, trust, necessary
helps at the time of doing any of the work. In context of Tampani Inc., it is necessary for
Susan to think and develop the concept where each and every employees should be given
the situation where they must work as a group so that each and every work can be done in
a systematic manner.
 Esteem needs: It is simply based upon two different category i.e., esteem needs for
oneself which includes dignity, achievement, independence and many more. On the other
hand of side, the second desire is for the reputation or even respect from other person
which includes status, prestige and many more. In context of Tampani Inc., it will be
crucial for the business organisation to understand esteem needs are very important for
the employees working within the organisation. It directly helps to motivate the
employees which is effective for the company (Turabik and Baskan, 2015). Here, it
necessary for Susan to manage that how they can give recognition to employees who are
working in the premisses of firm. Here, respect can be give by providing the post to them
on the basis of work performed by them.

 Self-actualization needs: This is the final stage up to where any of the human wants to
reach in their life. As it the way through which their needs can be fulfilled in best
possible manner. In simple it can be explained as as “What a man can be, he must be”,
This is the stage which is only achievable where people work in their best potential
because that is the only way through which target can be accomplished. In this, people do
have a desire to become everything one is capable of becoming.
Self-Efficacy Theory of Motivation
It is also explained as one of the motivation theory which can be crucial for business
organisation because it can directly help to enhance the perform of employees through which
goals of a company can be accomplished in best possible manner. This theory was developed by
Albert Bandura in the year 1997 (Rudolph, 2016). It is needed to be understood that this theory
simply works on the concept where one will be able to attain more success in those particular
situation where they have a believe on themselves. This concept can be very effective in
enhancing the motivation level within the organisation like Timpani Inc. through which goals
can be accomplished by completing any of the specific task in required manner. In the same
manner, if people have low self efficacy then there will be less believe due to which people will
not be able to perform their task in a specific manner. There are four different factor which can
help to determine the self-efficacy of any of the candidate working in the company. Those
factors are explained below in detail.
 Experience: It simply refers to the situation where people or employees have significant
experience in any of the field which allows to perform any of the work is specific
manner. In this theory, it is one of the most important factor which can be helpful for
business organisation. In context of Timpani Inc. they has the option to select any of the
employees on the basis of experience they have in their life. It can be one of the way
which allow employees to be motivated because they are being provided the work which
are suitable for them (De Vito and et. al., 2018). On the basis of work performed, Susan
will be able to give the bonus and rewards to those employees.
 Vicarious Experience: It is important for any of the employees to understand that they
have the opportunity to enhance their work performance by monitoring the other
employees working on the similar field. In context of Timpani Inc. they are needed to

understand that they can give different bonus and rewards to motivate their employees on
the basis of their performance which they improved while performing with other people.
 Social Persuasion: There are certain ways through which motivation can be given to
employees but it is necessary to understand that it is only possible in the situation where
employees can be encouraged to perform better. But, if in any of the situation
management of company fails to motive their employees then in that situation there is
high probability that performance be declined. In context of Timpani Inc. they are needed
to encourage their employees because that is one of the way through they can improve
their performance. Even it will allow company to evaluate the performance of employees
on that basis they can provide them rewards and bonus.
 Physiological Feedback: In this stage, it is simply understood that any of the person is
able to perform better only in the situation where they are able to enhance the satisfaction
level (Osland, Devine and Turner, 2015). If employees of Timpani Inc. wants to perform
better in the company for earning better bonus and rewards they must ensure that they are
able to perform any of the work which is being given to them. This will allow them to
earn better rewards.
Recommendation
From the above discussed motivational theory, it can be understood that company like
Timpani Inc. and its employees Susan can decide to take the help of Maslow's Motivational
theory. This theory will give the idea to company that how they are needed to perform and how
any of needs can be fulfilled among the employees. As employees as well as Susan is facing the
issues regarding bonus and rewards system, it can be easily solved with the help of Maslow's
Motivational theory because it will be one of the theory where rewards and bonus will be
completely based upon the performance of a employee.

CONCLUSION
From the above file, it can be easily concluded that organisation behaviours is one of the
important concept for business organisation as well as for individual working within the
premisses of a company. It is needed to be understand that motivational theory is very crucial for
business organisation because it allows company to provide various kind of rewards and benefits
to employees which gives them the opportunities to meet out their needs. In addition, theory like
Self-Efficacy Theory of Motivation can be helpful for the purpose of motivating the employees
as bonus and rewards will be based on the work performed by the employees working in the
organisation.
