This research aims to investigate the role of diversity at workplace and find out the issues regarding diversity and the attitude of leader on them. The influence of lack of Organizational Diversity direction and Leader Attitude on Diversity Activities will be analyzed using mixed research method. The literature review will provide an up to date understanding about the subject. Secondary data will be considered for data collection. Interviews will be conducted to gather the information to know about the diversity activities in the organization and what will happen if leaders are not sophisticated and there is no organizational diversity direction.

Brief statement of the problem
The population of Australia is becoming increasingly diverse as there are so many multinational
companies that need to manage the diverse workforces. It has been researched that organization
that efficiently handles their workforce diversity might experience better results. The major
problem has been identified that due to diverse workforce in the organization workers get
discouraged if they do not get proper training and support from leaders. Diversity activities
identify and address issues within the company. International research has been proven that a
diverse workforce enables organization to drive worth tangible and intangible benefits to
businesses. However, there are various organizations in Australia that struggle to manage
diversity efficiently. It has been found from the conducted Diversity and Inclusion Survey by
Ferry and Diversity Council Australia that only 41% of businesses specified they were at the
stage of building foundation of diversity program (Australian Government, 2018). The leader’s
attitude of the organization does not give proper response to the employee who belongs from
different background. Diversity at workplace can raise the number of issues such as gender
equality, ethnic and cultural differences, language and communication and generations gaps
(Hood, 2017). Women in Australia do not get same position in comparison of male not only in
position but also in salary which is the major problem. The leader’s attitude is vital for the
diversity activities and lack of commitment, collaboration and cultural intelligence raise the
conflict within an organization.
Aims and objectives
The aim of research proposal is to investigate the role of diversity at workplace and find out the
issues regarding diversity and the attitude of leader on them. The objective of it is defined below:

Activities (French & Strachan, 2015).

Brief Methodology
Methodology is an essential part to make the research in an efficient manner. There are various
techniques and approaches used in this part to evaluate the data regarding the topic. Mixed
research method has been chosen for accomplishing the research in which qualitative as well as
quantitative approach will be used to get effective results from collected data (Wilson, 2016).
Quantitative approach involves the numeric data on which statistical calculations are calculated
to get better outcomes in the form of conclusion. On the other hand qualitative approach is
assisted to make better understanding about the chosen topic. Both researches are helpful to
draw the effective conclusion.
Qualitative research facilitates in gatheering the information with quality as it is chosen for
research to evaluate the concerns regarding the influence of lack of Organizational Diversity
direction and Leader Attitude on Diversity Activities. It is effectual approach as research can
make changes in the frameworks and evaluation if required (Flick, 2017).
Quantitative data is effective approach to gather the information in numeric form which can be
transformed in to graphs tables and charts. The main feature of this data is measurable which
helps to figure out the collected data. It can be gathered from surveys, questionnaire etc.
Literature review
Literature review is an effective approach which provides an up to date understanding about the
subject. It will be facilitated to assess the information about the diversity activities in the
organization and the role of the diversity organizational orientation and leader. It will be made
with the help of surveys, journal articles, books, theory, government resources etc.
Data collection

To gather the information about the chosen topic, secondary data will be considered. Secondary
data is a kind of quantitative data that has already been accumulated by someone in their
different purpose. It can be collected from journal articles, newspaper, magazines, books and
online sources. It is cost efficient and time saving approach that would not take time (Zikmund,
Babin, Carr & Griffin, 2010).
Interviews
Interviews will be conducted to gather the information to know about the diversity activities in
the organization and what will happen if leaders are not sophisticated and there is no
organizational diversity direction. An interview is a component of qualitative research where
questions are asked draw out information. To conduct an interview, limited people will be
selected and certain questions regarding topic will be asked and evaluated in appropriate manner.
Sources and data
Secondary data is chosen to conduct the research regarding the influence of lack of
Organizational Diversity direction and Leader Attitude on Diversity Activities. The most
effective benefits of the secondary analysis of existing data are minimum cost. It can be
accessed easily by searching on internet as lot of information are updated on regular basis such
as government amendments, working condition, latest news about organization and country and
many more. The data will gather regarding information about the different organization and their
organizational culture (Palinkas, Horwitz, Green, Wisdom, Duan & Hoagwood, 2015). The
nature of this research is exploratory research in which the motivation and problem solving
method can be applied which can reduce the problem in the organization due to lack of support
of leaders’ attitude. Data listing technique will be utilized to gather the data. The graphs will be
shown in the research which will be drawn as per the response of the participants in the interview
section. The detail about the graph will be mentioned below in each graph which will be
facilitated to understand the meaning of graph as what it is describing and what will be it
contribution to draw conclusion.
