A) Introduction
The main area of research is organizational leadership which provides the information about
the leadership style which the organization Asda is following and through this the main aim and
objectives are also framed which will help in evaluating the basis through which all the aspects
of how the transactional leadership is performing within the organization and what can be the
issues which can occur within Asda while implementing the transactional leadership style. The
main points and conclusions for the research proposal which is being done is framed on the scale
through which the transactional leadership style which is taken into consideration is being
followed and this is done in the form of Literature review along with the aims, objectives and
research questions being framed effectively and efficiently (Griffith and et.al., 2019). Along with
this, research methodology will be framed which will include research approach, methods,
techniques, sample size, target population, equipment and data analysis and various other
research questions will also be answered which will provide the exact and intricate information
about the topic which is to identify the role of transactional leadership in managing business
activities and operations of an organization. This will help in providing the scale through which
all the essential information is known (Bratton, 2020). Further, the research also consist of the
limitations which overweighs the advantages in a positive manner and this helps in knowing
what are the ways on which all the limitations are to be corrected and rectified appropriately.
This will help in preparing the research in significant manner.

Literature Review –
Concept of Organizational Leadership
According to McVey (2019), Organizational leadership is defined as the process through
which there is a strategic formation and management of a group of people within the
organization to meet the common goals and objectives which are framed and formulated to be
followed by the people of the organization at large scale. Organizational leaders focus on the
growth and development of the company by focusing on the leaders and the employees who are
working to make their performance to be productive. Organizational leadership helps in
improving the scale through which all the aspects which are taken into consideration such as the
progressive patterns of the company, the performance scale of individuals etc are evaluated and
analyzed at large scale which helps in knowing what are the major changes which take place by
placing the right leadership skills at right positions within the work culture. This helps in
knowing what are the skills which are required in finding right leadership qualities within the
leaders so that they are able to make the necessary changes which are required in the systems and
the processes so that the growth and development of organization is not stopped.
As per Akcay Kasapoglu (2018), Leaders help in setting the strategic goals and objectives
which are framed for knowing better organization conditions and changes which are to be taken
place so that organization works at its best. The strategic objectives help in motivating the
employees and individuals in achieving the goals on time so that the success is measured.
Organizational leadership helps in achieving the goals which are in retrospect of how the
individuals lead team which creates value through which all the perspectives are measured and
scaled upon for having the best of the organization’s work culture. Leadership in the
organization involves balancing of varying relationships among the various employees,

managers and other people within the organization. Thus, organizational leadership when framed
and formulated helps in knowing that how effective and efficient the purpose of the leaders are in
varying framework which is being formulated at large scale. This also measures the performance
of individuals and employees who are engaged in working and providing effective and efficient
results to the organization. The concept of organizational leadership thus makes the framework
for knowing the scale through which all leadership goals and objectives are fulfilled at large
scale while evaluating concept behind organizational leadership. This will help in evaluating the
measures through which all possible and effective ways of analyzing the leadership skills.
Role and benefits of transactional leadership in managing business activities and
operations within organization
As per Alrowwad and et.al., (2020), Transactional leadership is the leadership which
promotes in attaining the goals with the help of supervision, system of rewards and punishments.
This helps in communicating through the leaders and the team members and through this the
main aim of Asda is known which helps in analyzing the main goal and objective to be
accomplished. Role of transactional leadership in managing business activities and operations is
known which helps in creating the value through which different functions and processes of
leadership are known at large scale. The main role of transactional leadership is that the business
activities and operations of Asda are known to have being providing the effective scales through
which all the main focus is on achieving the objectives and goals which are being set for
knowing the best of the practices which are known at large scale.
According to Sanda and et.al., (2017), The role transactional leadership plays is known to
have the basis through which all the aspects are considered as important which are regarding
maintaining the scales and objectives of how the leader is taking concern of the activities and the
tasks which are to be completed on time. The leader in this leadership style monitors carefully of
how to enforce the rules and regulations and along with this, any changes in the organization are
also observed through which all the possible aspects of growth are analyzed and evaluated. The
benefits of transactional leadership are that this leadership practice when applied to Asda creates
a sense of fairness in the group and in the setting which there is possibility of knowing the
importance of what are the factors which help in creating the valuable framework for the

achievement of goals and objectives which are framed. Employees through the transactional
leadership style are able to evaluate their impact on the business.
As per Ma and et.al., (2018), Transactional leadership is easy to understand and the
employees of Asda who perform their work well are rewarded. Along with this, short term goals
can be achieved within the short period of time. Transactional leadership within Asda
organization proves to be very productive for company. Proper order and structure is followed
within the transactional leadership style in significant manner. In managing the business
activities and operations transactional leadership thus plays very important role within Asda
which helps in knowing what type of sources and information is required by how effective and
efficient the major changes are taken into concern for letting know the transactional leadership at
vast scales effectively.
Issues faced by Asda while using transactional leadership
As viewed by Hansen and et.al., (2019), there were many issue which were affected and
many issues were raised while using the transactional leadership within Asda and this viewed the
issues which Asda was facing which also analyzed that the whole system and process needed
change in which all the possible factors were created for knowing that the main reason behind
how effective and efficient transactional leadership worked. This also analyzed and reviewed the
scale through which all the possible facts and the information in which the team and the group
are working together. There was lack of focus on building the relationships among the team
members and group. Asda also faced the difficulty in applying the transactional leadership as this
leadership discouraged creativity and this stopped the process through which all the employees
performance was affected as they were preparing and providing more of the creative work which
helped in making the efforts through which their performances and the work was being affected
at large scale.
According to Kark and et.al., (2018), the poor leadership management through the
transactional leadership was created and this created problem both for employees working and
Asda. The business scale was being disturbed through which all progressive manner in which the
goals and objectives were to be achieved created difference with what was to be done and
contributed for goals and objectives to be in progressive manner. There is no long term vision in
transactional leadership which affected the performance of Asda and objectives and goals were

also affected which created major problem in which all possibility of framing the work and
creating the working culture was being affected at large scale. This is major issue which Asda
faced while implementing transactional leadership style within organization which also affected
business and operations of Asda and this created difficulties in managing activities and tasks
which were to be performed smoothly and effectively. Therefore, these are the issues and
problems which were faced by Asda while using transactional leadership in the main frame
through which all the possible factors of working were known. The issues which are identified
helps in knowing what are processes and systems which needs change and in manner how these
issues are removed so that they comply with leadership traits and qualities contributing in
significant manner through which Asda is able to take concern of changes which are important.
C) Justification and Contextualization
This research is important because it helps in providing the information of what is the
concept behind transactional leadership and in what manner does this leadership style is
significant for Asda. The research is also important for letting know the issues faced by Asda
while using the transactional leadership and this helped in knowing that what are the advantages
and disadvantages of the transactional leadership within the organization (Robinson and et.al.,
2020). This was conveyed through the literature review being presented along with aim,
objectives and research questions which helped in knowing how important is basis framed for
providing the information about the transactional leadership for Asda organization at large scale.
Therefore, the research is important in providing the essential forms of knowing the process and
the pattern through which this research is being done and prepared. Thus, this research helped in
framing the scale through which all the essential information is being provided.
It is important to find what is to be found in the research because with the help of this
research which is to identify the role of transactional leadership in managing business activities
and operations of Asda it creates the value of the organization and this plays an important role in
identifying how transactional leadership is helpful and is contributing to the functions and
activities within the organization (Lê and et.al., 2019). The role of transactional leadership within
the organization is important for the research to analyze various leadership qualities of leader
which contributes in making business grow and develop at large scale along with bringing
efficiency in operations of management within Asda. The main purpose and why it is important

large scale within the organization to make the important factors such performance of the
employees to be known.
It will build on the existing body of evidence which will help in providing the base of how
the research is being done on the topic which is to identify the role of transactional leadership in
managing business activities and operations of Asda (Sonnentag and et.al., 2017). The existing
body of the research helps in providing the literature review which provides the information on
the basis of what the writers have said and along with this the aim, objectives and research
questions are also framed which provides the evidence through which all the perspectives of
knowing how the research is contributing to upscale the business and letting know operations
with the important information at large scale. The existing body of evidence provides

Yes, the research is done timely and yes it responds to the existing need and this makes it
frame in proper manner which helps in creating the value through which the research is being
done and this helped in evaluating the main purpose which is how effective and efficient the
main purpose and aim of research is fulfilled in significant manner (Pellegrini‐Masini and et.al.,
2020). The timely reparation of the research was analyzed and evaluated through which research
is prepared for letting know what is basis of having the major changes which are to be taken by
organization for the transactional leadership to be taken into place with all processes of having
the leaders and the team members so that they are able to contribute to working and progress of
the organization. This helps in making the research to be done and completed on timely basis
through which all the other factors are identified.

Research aims will be achieved by framing and following proper research methodology
which helps in creating the value of the topic which is to identify the role of transactional
leadership in managing business activities and operations at large scale. There are these
mentioned ways in which research methodology is conveyed through these aspects which are

Research Paradigm – Research paradigm is the approach to research that is considered as
standard by the number of researchers who have practiced and verified their field for a long
period of time. This helps the researchers in utilizing the value through which all the possible
and effective measures are taken into consideration at large scale (Kamal, 2019). Research
paradigm helps in verifying the research is properly framed and verified by the researchers in
manner which is suitable for them.
Methodological Approach – Inductive approach is being used for the research which helps in
framing the observations and theories that are proposed at the end of research process as a result
of observation which is conducted. The inductive approach creates the value of the research in
the way which helps in making and framing the scale through which all possible facts and
information is made available to which the effectiveness and efficiency is known and conducted
as being indicative.
Research Method – Research approach is the process in which data is collected. There are three
research approaches which are qualitative, quantitative and mixed. The type of research which is
presented and used by the scholar for this topic is qualitative research which gathers the
information based on the topic (Levitt and et.al., 2017). Apart from this, quantitative research
analyzes the recent figures, data and facts. And the mixed approach utilizes both the researches
which are the qualitative and quantitative approach.
Research Techniques – Survey is being done for the research which helps in indicating the view
points and perspectives of target population through which all the effectiveness for the research
is known at large scale. The survey helps in knowing what are major points of consideration
which requires changes in research altogether. The main reason of the research technique is that
it helps in analyzing and evaluating purpose through which all significance of conducting the
survey is known.
Sample Size – The sample size which is taken for the survey is 30 respondents which are
indicative for presenting the total result in which all the possible facts and information is known
which helps in making and framing the scale through which the viewpoints of the respondents is
known with variation in every respondents answer and this creates the value in which all possible
answers are provided and indicated at the scale of 30 (Sim and et.al., 2018).

Target Population – The target population which is taken is senior management staffs which are
responsible for their point of views and opinions delivered at large scale while making
perspective through which all factors of how senior management is taking concern.
Data Analysis – Thematic data analysis is done for research which helps in reading through data
set and identifying patterns in meaning across data which is known at large scale. Thematic
analysis helps in taking information and data set for research conducted (Castleberry and et.al.,
2018).
This is the most appropriate way to effectively answer the research question because it
makes the research valid and helps in providing exact and accurate information to be made
available for researchers’ and this helps in clarifying other factors of knowledge. No, there are no
alternatives which are to be considered as through these mentioned factors all the possible factors
and aspects are known for the research to be performed and evaluated in significant terms to
provide great results meaningfully.
Ethical Considerations – Ethical considerations are one of the most important parts of research
which is required to be adhered by the researchers. Participants for this study were not forced to
work upon the research rather they were free whether to participate or not in the research as per
their interest (Arifin, 2018). The research ensured privacy of the participants which helped them
in knowing what are the major factors which are to be kept in a secretive manner concerning the
important information regarding researchers’ research response. Therefore, ethical considerations
are important aspect for research to be conducted successfully and in effective manner.
Limitations – There are various limitations which have been identified for the changes which
are to be done and for the ways in which all the possible and effective works are being taken into
consideration. The major limitation which is observed is that the research should be conducted
more on the qualitative information which is provides the results for the Asda organization to be
indicative and taking major concerns for the company (Theofanidis and et.al., 2018). Along with
this, the leadership style which Asda follows has some issues which should be improved and
enhanced for better ways to make the research more precise and accurate.
