1.1 Explanation about the legal and regulatory
framework of the travel and tourism sector
• In the travel and tourism industry
involves sellers, customers, business
organisation, suppliers, consumers,
contracts etc.
• In order to protect the travellers,
customers, sellers, employees,
environment, government has been
developed various legislation and
code of conduct in the England and
Wales.
• The legal framework is the system of
rules governing the decision making
whereas the regulatory framework
suggests enforcing the codified
legislations.

• Mr John decided to go on the holiday on the
island by taking the services of the tour
agent in England. The major reason for
holiday is that John wanted to spend some
time at historical and museum places. By
taking the advice of tour operator, John has
decided to go on the certain place but found
that during the time of period that all
historical places has closed. The tour
operator are aware about this scene but has
not provided the information to the John. In
this case John have right to take legal cation
against the tour operator as the operator
breached the civil law of not providing
complete information.

1.2 Discussion about the surface, sea and air transport law in
relation to the carriage of passengers within the legal and
regulatory framework
