Page |3 Study Day 1 Introduction This is an individual report in which I will use IT systems and skills for practical sessions to assess my own IT skills and get my set up to be successful with my training. By using my IT skills I brushed up on today, I will make a comprehensive plan for how I am going to complete my course homework by next study day. In doing so, I will have to think about start and end times of my homework, what I need to do, how long each task will take, w hat breaks me will need, and when, the order that I will carry out the tasks, and where I will be doing my homework. I will then put this together in a spreadsheet with the aim of calculating the total time I will be studying this week including attending study day, homework and job searches. Time Management Time management difficulties are a common reason for students. University studies require certain adjustments to be successful, including the degree of autonomy and personal discipline. Managing the time to spend on personal work outside of class is often the biggest challenge. Especially since several students are also engaged in other responsibilities (e.g. paid employment) (Vostal, 2015). Every student has at one time been confronted with an overload of work during his or her college and university career. For students to face all these challenges, they need to develop the skills they need to make things easier for them. This helps them avoid chess and stress (Van der Meer, Jansen and Torenbeek, 2010). One of these skills is
Page |4 time management in order to be organised, effective and efficient (Van der Meer, Jansen and Torenbeek, 2010). Good time management is the ability to manage it successfully. Properly managing your time can decrease your stress and help you feel more proficient in your efforts. Indeed, student days can be the busiest in life of any student. Between the duties, examinations and responsibilities, and extracurricular activities among others, it is often not clear where to head (Claessens et al., 2007). Students often feel the need to always have to be somewhere and have almost no time to sleep. That is when they really need to assess their priorities. Students planning their time effectively can get more quality time (Liu et al., 2009). On the other hand, having a bad time management in academia can have a number of consequences of the most serious, the worst being like failure (Liu et al., 2009). So much to do, so little time? All students including me have numerous drains on their time be it course homework, lectures, sports, part-time employments and a hectic social life, unless students learn to effectively manage their valuable time they will not be fully capable of doing everything and feeling the strain of stress. Once a student is making effort to work as hard as he or she, he or she must learn to work more effectively to stay on top (Liu et al., 2009). In the following sections I am going to make a comprehensive plan for reviewing and understanding an article, named as “Do women have stronger ethical business principles than men?”, published by The Gurdian and written by Andrea Learned in 2014 (Learned, 2014). In this article the author’s main purpose is to describe how male figures tend to have highly flexible ethical standards in the business than women, which is challenge for sustainable business (Learned, 2014). In this plan I will reflect my time management skills by making a schedule

Page |5 and aims through which I will be able to review, understand, analyse and summarise the given article, while recognising and presenting the language features and sentence structures the author used in this article. Plan Start and End Times To thoroughly review, understand, analyse and summarise the given coursework that is an article as mentioned earlier, I will first review the article from head to tail, so that I can understand what the author try to discuss there and what conclusion the author has made in the article. For this, I will need to bring out the meaning and message of the author in the article; identify pertinent information as part of the work to be performed; and retain important notions and ideas to enrich one's own knowledge in the field. I will then need to talk about reading with others, may be my parents or friends. To thoroughly review, comprehend, analyse and summarise the article, at least 10 days will be consumed, because I will have to understand some key phrases in the article the author used and for this I need to search them online.What You Need To Do All the students have times when they work most effectively and productively. The very initial step to being in control is recognising these times and benefit from them. Get a routine in place during high stress and stick to adhere to it – routines have the strong potential to enable me to cope successfully (Vostal, 2015). Therefore, effective working in necessary and for this I will need to do, after care full and thorough review and understanding the article, online search for understanding the typical terminologies and ideas used by the author in the article. Besides this, I will need to consult others, like my parents or friends, to thoroughly understand the main purpose of
Page |6 the author’s in the given article. This approach will be helpful to me because I will be able to successfully analyse and summarise the article, while understanding and analysing the language features and sentence structures used by the author in the article. All these works will require me to set aims and tasks. The following aim and tasks will then be set to successfully meet the core of the course homework. As mentioned earlier, the basic aim of my plan is to carefully and comprehensively review, understand, analyse and summarise the given article. The aims can be both long term and short term visions and dreams (ambitions), along with medium term goals, short term everyday items that must be done with the aim of achieving the longer- term aims. Thus, making a list of goals is necessary. Goals can be divided into smaller tasks or jobs tat can be easily achieved and prioritise. In doing so, the following tasks will be performed to make sure achievement of the aim of this plan: 1.Reviewing ad understanding the article with the help of my parents or friends; 2.Reviewing ad understanding the article and its complex nature of key phrases, ideas, and notions put by the author will then be searched online; 3.Features will then be analysed that has the writer used to help convey meaning of the article; 4.How does the author use language features in the article will then be recognised and analysed ; 5.Types of sentence structures used in the article will then be evaluated; 6.Assessment and understanding of the examples of fact, opinion or bias in the text will be made finally.
Page |7 Deadlines are one of the highly crucial points of time management. Thus, I will need to set my deadlines to complete all my tasks on time, as per my priorities. If a task is due in at the end of term set the deadline a week or so in advance in case another pressing item crops up nearer the time. Thus, looking at the overall length of all the individual tasks is necessary which need to be realistic. In this regard, another time plan can be made, called a Gantt chart, where every single task is out into my diary as per how much time they will consume and how vital each one is to the success of the other tasks.How Long Each Task Will Take Timetable In this section overall time schedule will be devised and presented for the course homework. Be Organised 1.When I will sit down to work I will need to ensure I have all the necessary equipment, materials and researched information I need. Stopping to locate a book can be a devastating drain on my time; 2.I will then to clean my desk of distractions 3.I will also use a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on my study room’s door. If somebody calls me I will have to think ‘is it really urgent or can I call back?’ 4.I will need to take breaks on regular basis to fresh my mind. Following every break review the entire course work I have completed to keep myself focused;

Page |8 5.I also need to pay strong and strict attention to each task at a time. I will need to avoid starting one task then leave it to pick up another, which is referred to as procrastination (putting things off!) and can start to twice as long to finish each task; 6.Once I have done a task, I should take a break to relax. This is an overview of the things that will be required to be done effectively to achieve the tasks and complete the course work successfully. Behold the following time table in the form of Gantt chart illustrating how much time in terms of days will be consumed to complete my course homework: Gantt Chart (Timetable) S.No.TasksTime Schedule 1st Day2nd Day3rd Day4th Day5th Day6th Day7th Day8th Day9th Day10 th Day 1Reviewing and understanding the article with the help of my parents or friends 2Online searching of complex nature of key phrases, ideas, and notions 3Features in the article will then be analysed through which the writer tried to convey meaning of the article 4How does the author use language features in the article will then berecognised and analysed 5Types of sentence structures used in the article will then be evaluated 6Assessment and understanding of the examples of fact, opinion or bias in the text will be made finally
Page |9 In the above mentioned Gantt chart which is the timetable of my coursework, different tasks are mentioned with their time schedule. At first, I will review and understand the article with the help of my parents or friends, and its complex nature of key phrases, ideas, and notions put by the author will then be searched online. This overall process will be completed in 5 days. After that features will be analysed that has the writer used to help convey meaning of the article, and this step will consume 3 days. How does the author use language features in the article will then be recognised and analysed, and for this 2 days will be required. I will then evaluate types of sentence structures used in the article, which will be done in 3 days. At the end, comprehensive and careful assessment and understanding of the examples of fact, opinion or bias in the text will be made, which will consume last 3 days.What Breaks You Will Need, and When To begin taking control of my overall time I will need to break it up into some convenient chunks (Murray and Moore, 2006). For this, some helpful strategies need to be adopted and following for planning each day of my coursework. At first I will need to plan the overall 10 days: I will divide my study time over 10 days into the following areas (Murray and Moore, 2006): 1.Contact time or taught sessions;
Page |10 2.Private study activities. Draw up a perfect time schedule for next 10 days revealing each day and each hour within that day. Thus, I will need to fill in my taught sessions for the next 10 days. This approach will give me an apparent idea about the time I can easily allocate to other tasks, demonstrating me when I have time and how much time is available. After that, I will then start to allocate time I have set to my other coursework tasks. I will need to avoid fulfilling my study obligations in a few long sessions, and instead of this, I will need to make the best use of my valuable time available to me by being creative in my overall utilisation time. As an instance (Murray and Moore, 2006), 1.An evening can be used to plan my coursework; 2.An hour between class lectures can be used to visit the library; 3.A 10 minutes bus journey can be used to review the given article. I should make effort to fit the right tasks to the right time slots.. After planning a week, planning a day is also very necessary for each task. With the passage of time, I will review my week plan with the aim of ensuring that it is up to date. In this regard, I will need to make a 'to do' list for every single day if this will assists in focusing my tasks and related activities. 1.I will use my day plan with the aim of adding discipline to my working day.

I should tick off all my completed tasks, while keeping a check on activities that are uncompleted. 3.I should also avoid overburdening my day plan, and instead of this I will have to set out to effectively finish realistic tasks.The Order That You Will Carry Out the Tasks Behold the following order of each task: 1.Reviewing and understanding the article with the help of my parents or friends 2.Online searching of complex nature of key phrases, ideas, and notions 3.Features in the article will then be analysed through which the writer tried to convey meaning of the article 4.How does the author use language features in the article will then be recognised and analysed 5.Types of sentence structures used in the article will then be evaluated 6.Assessment and understanding of the examples of fact, opinion or bias in the text will be made finallyWhere You Will Be Doing Your Homework
Page |12 As the nature of the given course homework is complicated to some extent, as the given article includes some critical ideas and notions, along with complex nature of terminologies and language features used by the author, both my home place and my university library will be used. I will do my homework both at my home where my parents will help me in reviewing and understating the article, and my university library where I can read textbooks and other material of my module, while engaging in online searching both at home and at university library.
