Introduction
Patient experience and partnering in the hospital is the most critical aspect of patient care.
In this paper, two people named Mr. William Taylor and Natasha Reedy are discussing their
experience on The Patient Experience and Partnering in Care. In which Natasha Reedy asks
William Taylor’s experience about the patient experience. Mr. Taylor responds to all the
questions asked, and he cites delays in the manner in which he was attended to when he got to
the hospital because of the numerous emergency cases. Natasha comes to the hospital feeling
pain following an accident. However, he is not attended to immediately but after 11 hours. He is
given medication and is taken to the X-ray room for x-ray imaging. After evaluation, he is
released to go home and books an appointment with the physicians for further analysis.
However, he was comfortable and appreciated that urgent cases deserved to be attended to first.
He is happy with the kind of service he received from the nurses and physicians who assessed
him.
Description
Patient experience in partnering in care is very critical in disease management. Mr.
Taylor, having struggled with kidney stones, falls by the road, which affects him seriously. He
partners with the physician showing his readiness to have a change in his condition. Mr. Taylor
provides all the necessary information asked of him by Natasha Reeds. Mr. Taylor explains how
long it took him before he came to the hospital. He did not want, but ultimately, he was forced
to. On arriving at the hospital, it makes him another 11 hours to get treatment. Although he

concedes that waiting for 11 hours was dissappointing, he acknowledges that other patients came
in who deserved quick treatment than him. They were in very critical emergencies.
Further, he had four more sessions with the physician who conducted more assessments
on the patients to determine his conditions. Two themes stand out from this patient experience –
patient care experience, patient family-centered care, and partnering in care. According to Wolf
PhD (2014), patient care experience relates to the various relations patients have with the
healthcare system. These include nurses, doctors, and surgeons. Family-centered care involves
the affiliation of family members to decision making in healthcare. Patent care involves a
strategy of care that improves the experience of patients and customers (Saulnier, 2016). Mr.
Taylor describes their experience of patience and Partnering in Care. Patient family-centered
care and partnering in the care experience of Mr. Taylor was good because his family decision
making with his doctor was excellent. Mr. Taylor’s experience is a striking one. He experiences
much pain with his kidney stones. As a result, he goes to a public hospital then he didn't get
better treatment.
The patients experience included falls prevention and harm from falls care. Mr. Taylor
was given assistance on how to prevent falls. The physiotherapist taught him how to use his arm
using the other arm and other aids like sticks. He was also taken through various exercises for
four weeks. All these were to prevent falls. Besides, he was also diagnosed to determine the
cause of the falls and given medication. The patient also has information on my Health e-Record.
A camera will be out on his body to take picture every two seconds. This will monitor his
progress so that the doctor can keep track of him.
