INTRODUCTION
This Contemporary Global Hospitality Industry Assessment is going to be described
here to know about the future aspects of hospitality service. There are the organisational
structures and different categories according to the scope, scale and diversity of
hospitality industry. Different hospitality professional bodies are included in it with their
role and responsibilities. Apart from this the analysis and assessment of this industry is
described below. The future aspects of trending hospitality with technologies along with
travel and tourism mentioned here. The hospitality industry is described here with the
emerging examples that has great importance in its business(Radojevic,Stanisic, and
Stanic, 2015. ).
Task 1
1. The current scale, scope and diversity of the hospitality industry.
Scale- This include bar, restaurants, pubs, lodging entertainment, caters gaming and
event management.
Scope- This means the involvement of GDP contribution, turnover, job opportunities
and employments related with this sector.
Diversity- The areas of expansion and the sectors in which the services are
provided by it in different parts of the world. The expansion of this sector according to
size is too vast. About more than 1,30,000 restaurants and cafes are generated by it.
Hospitality services- A lot of services are provided by hospitality industry to support
other industries that includes from hotels to restaurants. Food, drink facilities are also
provided by it including security and housekeeping services. Business, travel, retail,
education, health care and cooperative business, local authority, leisure venues, concert
events, sports and many more things are managed by this hospitality industry. About
more than 200,000 staffs are working in this sector that consists of both male and female
staffs. People of different ages are connected with this. About 62% of work force is
occupied by females and more than 25% is occupied by the people who is above 50
years. This is being chosen to work because this sector is providing good services and
facilities to people across the world.
Food & Service Management- Food and related services are being served to the
customers with an advanced service of security and housekeeping. There are mainly

migrants people who are working in this sector. About 55% of the workforce is occupied
by these migrant people whon are working in full-time job(Kandampully Zhang,and
Bilgihan, 2015).
Travel and Tourist Services- People from across the world like to travel and this services
is given to those people. National and international franchisees are being involved to
handle the hospitality.
Franchisees are run with the name of brand and money is paid to the related hospitality
sectors. Leasing and taking contract is the other way to work with it. The financial and
non- financial terms of business are made from the different parties to work with it.

Travelodge – It is one the second largest hotel that deals with good budget in
UK. It has third place in UK with maximum number of bedrooms in hotel. This is a
private limited organisation that is dealing with UK hospitality industry(Claveria,Monte
and Torra, 2015. ). It was 1980s when this hotel was brought by Lord Forte in Britain for
first time. This hotel is known for its overbooking with its quality services. The statics
of turnover graph of his hotel is increasing from 2013 to 2017 and it was about 637.1
billion British pounds in 2017.
D.3. Evaluation of scale and scope of hospitality business.
Scope and scale are two strong pillars of hospitality business. No doubt diversity
matters but here its most important that peoples are getting job opportunities and a
chance to explore themselves. More number of people are increasing quality and
services of this business. Now it comes to the other contribution that is GDP growth. Its
quite obvious that government imposing taxes and sometimes the business is also
affected by that but yet it has great contribution to people as well as government bodies.
1.2. Organisational structures of different hospitality organisations.
There are mainly two types of organisational structures, one is Hierarchical
organisational structure and other one is Functional organisational structure. Hierarchical
organisation defines the number of position, authorities with their responsibilities. The
authority and communication departments are involved with centralised functions and

responsibilities. Functional organisational structures are of common type in which the
peoples are grouped and the tasks are distributed to them according to group positions.
On the basis of size it is classified into two organisational structures that are:
Small boutique hotel- Here an example of hotel is taken that name is Hamilton;s
boutique hotel. This organisation consist of categories and sub categories division as per
the position and the responsibilities of concerning bodies. There are two managers
appointed in the hotel, one for the sub- category division who manages the services like
front desk, reservation, catering, room services, housekeeping, food and beverages
department, security and many more. The other manager looks after all the marketing,
financial updates, sales and services of hotel.
Large non-resident conferences and banquets centres- Elme Hall Hotel is one of the
reputed hotel that is situated in UK(Jones, Hillierand Comfort, 2016.)
. This is highly known for its enhanced facilities and services in respect of quality for
conducting conferences. In this organisation there is one major manager who is
considered room division manager. Apart from this there are also three sub categories of
manager who handle the front office services, guest related services and reservation
services.
1.3 Role assessment of hospitality related to organisations and professional bodies.
The British Hospitality Association- This association is dealing with hotel,
restaurants, and catering services across the world. Many companies have been opened
and being operated by them for last 100 years. Role assessment is mainly associated
with economy, employments, sustainability, health memberships with many other
factors. This association is playing a very important role as it is increasing prosper
growth competitive world. Along with this so many people are getting job opportunities
causing decrease in unemployment rates. Much health related activities and programs
are supported by it. It is also regulating the events for wellness of their customers.
Membership programs are run to provide the opportunities to develop their skills that is
required for management.
( PARN) Professional Associations Research Network- This association makes the
Institute of Hospitality to provide good services and quality to their customers.

Charitable status is one of the most role of these professional bodies that contribute their
money for the development and growth of various charity organisation in different parts
of the world.
Advising is also given by these bodies on legal formations, financial and licensing
aspects of hospitality business. Aspects like smoking indoor public places, changes in
alcohol consumption laws and food allergens and legislations laws.
Task 2
Asses the staffing requirement of different hospitality businesses.
Many types of services are provided related with different companies so the
staffing requirement is must. Different types of industries are involved in it. Staffs
requirement by travel and tourism industries must have full potential to take the
responsibilities and quick actions. Along with travel and tourism food services and
housekeeping staffs are required(Kim,Vogt,and Knutson2015.).
Travel agent staffs are one of the important tool for this industry because the customers
are taken care by them during journey. All the different services are arranged by travel
agencies with their tie up plans. Travel agents are very helpful for the customers who
guide them and provide the local and other information so that they can feel ease in
enjoying the different places. Sometimes they also try to recreate their customers in
leisure times. Food service and housekeeping take care the customers by providing them
room services and other required demands which have been promised by the hospitality
authorities. The head cook and chef are the in charge in general.
Laundry services are also included in required staffs as they take care of the hygienic
conditions

2.2 Roles, responsibilities and qualification requirements of hospitality staffs.
There are wide range of hierarchical based staffs are required in hospitality
business. The main bodies of staffs included are Supervisors, managers, apprentices,
management trainee, casual workers and others too. Separate qualification standards are
required according to their position, role and responsibilities. A supervisor is appointed
to perform overseas operations and services to the customers. They must have good
communication skills with different types languages so that they can deal with different

kinds of people. They must have early work experience with an entry level degree of
certified business management. A manager is the most important part of an industry
because he makes and maintain the plan related with all the operations and activities
related to profits, standards of hotels. They are also involved in the motivational and
training programs of other staffs. An associate and a certified degree is needed for the
selection of a manager(Claveria,Monte and Torra, 2015. )
. They should have interpersonal or organisational skills. Apprentices must have
common skills so that they can follow the instruction and rules which is provided by
supervisor, managers and the customers. Casual workers who are appointed are directed
to support the working team. They are always trained to take care of hazards and look
after the customers.

hospitality industry.
Following are the emerging issues by which hospitality industry is influenced.
Retention key skill tests- An organisation is famous for its hotel room service and
cuisines. Customers visit that one but there is no good food choice according to the
customers. Now hotel tries to hire the cooks and chef from other hotels to provide food
services to their customers. Due to this cook staffs are shifted from one place to another.
Finally, the chefs start their own business and the food test of hotels go on changing.
Small scale retentions- It's not a new thing that small cafes and shops are operated in
market. The establishment of small cafes influencing the hospitality business. In UK
there are a number of cafes that are dealing with lower prices than McDonald's. The
customers are distracting at different places in the search of local food tests(Colovic,.
and Beran2018).
Emergence of technology- All the sectors in hospitality business are dealing with
technologies for online booking of hotels, travelling services and others. More and more

customers are attracted by this because all informations related with services are shown
on concerning sites.
Regulations – Hospitality sectors must have to deal with different kinds of legal policies
and regulations for the quality assurance of their services. Food services provided by
McDonald's are quality checked by the legal authority. Food allergens are not allowed in
food recipes.
3.2. Current image of hospitality industry.
This industry is dealing with a number of services including leisure, food, beverage
accommodation services. The most dominant image of this is summarised by tour and
travel agencies. In UK there were more visors in 2009 but the rates de accelerated in
2010. In these current days' travel and tourism services are in an acceleration because
they are dealing with global market instead of only geopolitical market. Image of this
industry is clear because total number of jobs which are created by this are providing so
many opportunities for the people. It is about 266 million jobs created by travel and
tourism. Apart from creating jobs across the world, it has also a great contribution in
GDP growth. In 2015 this industry has contributed 4% growth rate in GDP. This is also
doing well on regional and local level so that every one can get better hospitality and
enjoy their life(JuliãoGaspar,and Rocha, 2018, ).
M.3. Evidence from different business within hospitality industry.
Hotel managements are investing on identifying, creating or developing the competitive
advantages that are utilized to enhance the companies' bottom line up. According to a
survey that was conducted in Greek high class hotel companies and it was found that the
economical enhancement was there.
Corporation for Travel Promotion is a new public private partnership travel and tourism
agency in USA. The alliance between these two enhances the business within United
States.
Currently, this travel agency is very active in top international travel markets in United
States of America.

4.1. Justification on the prediction of trends and development in hospitality.
The prediction on study of development in hospitality industry shows that there
is steady growth in it. It is expected that during near future more and more investors are
going to be connected with this industry(Bavik, 2016.). Different services that are run by
this industry will make a boom in this sector because people with specific interest will
get their chance to invest. The investors will try to get more and more profits from this
industry so they will try to make it promote by their own ways too. People don, have that
much time to go and watch the arrangements so they try to minimize it with the use of
technologies. These technologies are used by all the services of this industry that provide
all necessary informations about their booking and confirmations. Banks and financial
organisations are collaborating with different hotels, pubs, restaurants and many more.
Use of technologies in this sector have made the payment more easy for the customers.
Now the customers are free from the fear of money is to be stolen. Advancement in
means of transport and business meetings at different places may increase the trends of
hospitality industry.
D.2. Predictions support to potential trends and development in hospitality industry.
Yes my prediction support is in favour of hospitality industry(Ryan 2015). The
growing generations are more likely to be fond of outing, travelling, shopping at
different places. These all activities of generations would must accelerate the business
of this industry. Involvement of technology is one of the most supporting factor to
predict the potential trend of hospitality. It is already discussed that technology is the
attracting and supporting pillar of every business in these days.
I think that more services would be provided to the customers with the help of
technologies in upcoming future.
4.2 .Impact analysis for predicated trends in hospitality
The customers thoughts are changing according to their behaviours and attitudes. The
value of brand name has a great impact over the people mind. The importance of
technology for customers and their applications are providing the good analysis for
predicted trends. The International government is allowing people to move abroad with
the ease availability of visa so that more and more people can travel to the different parts

of the world. According to the current survey it is found that Chinese people take more
tour to USA and spend at least 7 days with the worth of 1000 dollars. Increasing health
services in this industry will attract more and more people because people want to be
safe in every parts of the world.
CONCLUSION
Hospitality services are not new for the people but the changing trends in this
industry attracting more and more people. No doubt this industry will make a boom in
upcoming future. All above which have been described show that the travel and tourism
services are the pillars of this industry. Involvement of other organisation and the
professional bodies must have great contribution in this. New legislatives and polices
should be empowered by national and international authority to enhance the business of
hospitality(Kim,Im, and Hwang,, 2015). This will be helpful in creating new jobs and
opportunities for upcoming generations. With the help of this hiospitality industry study
can be done and informative knowledge can be easily taken.
