Chapter 1: IntroductionTitle and introduction Title To investigate the influence of social media marketing on business operations ofcompany. A case study on Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd. Introduction: Social media marketing introduce as an effective techniques that target different numberof social networks and application to promote particular product and spread brand awareness ofcompany (Ngai, Tao and Moon, 2015). It is a form of internet marketing that applies socialnetworking websites as a tool of marketing. In addition, social media marketing is an essentialprocess of increasing website traffic and brand awareness via social media platforms. For thisresearch, chosen organisation is Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd which is one of the longest and largeststanding jewellers in Malta. It was founded in 1899 by Carmelo Debono. Company mainlyspecialise in selling of Jewellery, Diamonds, watches, pearls etc. Along with this, in order topromote all these products in market and to customers, company decide to use social mediamarketing. It is important for company by connecting with customers, enhance brand awarenessand increase sales. Rational of the research: Main reason behind selecting this topic is to investigateimportance of social media marketing on business operations. Social media marketing is besttechnique that help Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd in increasing business operations. It support inbetter communication with clients, saving cost, improving brand positioning, attracting largenumber of customers etc. Thus, social media marketing is more essential and useful techniquefor the company to retain customer's for long time and increase their sales within given timeperiod (Felix, Rauschnabel and Hinsch, 2017). Research questionsResearch question is refer as an essential and important part of research which help aninvestigator to fulfil research aim and objectives systematically. It is the fundamental core ofstudy, research project or literature review. This section of research project focuses the study,analysis the methodology and guides entire level of inquiry and reporting. Main purpose ofresearch questions in research is to guide the investigator to emphasis on research problems,objectives, approach and delivery at the end of study. Beside this, there are some important and clear research questions which aredetermined as under: What are the ways used by Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd to enhance sales. What are the importance of social media tool for Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd to enhancetheir market share. How to build strong customer relationship to increase the value of goodwill. Research Objectives Research objective is one of the important and essential part for field of study and help anorganisation to achieve SMART objectives within given time period. There are some mainobjectives for research are shown as under: To increase sales up to 40 % within 3 year of time period. To enhance market share by 10% of Jos Debono Jewellers Ltd within 1 year byapplication of different social media tool. To build better customer relationship within 4 months of time period to increase the valueof goodwill of an organisation by 20%.2
