After completing the Peer-teaching session, the 1st year Bachelor nursing
students will be able to –
Remember the signs and symptoms that indicates that a patient is need of
Basic Life Support. This will enable them to identify when a patient or an
individual is in danger and work accordingly.
Understand the situation and how to administer the BSL to which patient
in accordance to their condition. This will enable them to administer
proper and personalized care.
Administer and demonstrate their knowledge in the field when it is
necessary. This will enable them to successfully administer care and in
turn help the victim.
Estimate when the patient no longer requires BSL and stop or adjust their
work accordingly. This will enable them to not to overdo the process and
in turn cause harm to the patient.
Evaluate whether their knowledge and understand how their intervention
will help the patient. This will enable them to reflect on their actions and
thus learn from experience rather than theoretically.
Demonstrate and teach other students and individuals how to administer
BSL effectively in emergencies and pass on patient education. This will
enable tham to spread the knowledge and
