PEER REVIEW2 Peer Review Introduction The guiding research question of the research proposal is on examining the implications of implementing green management on the operations of a company. This guiding research question is then subdivided into three question to guide the research process. These three research questions are a)What are the short term and long term environmental effects of Green Management in the manufacturing industry? b)How does Green Management relate to company reputation? c)What effects does green management have on company performance? Subsequently, these three research questions are used in formulating the research objectives. The primary research objective of this research proposal is to evaluate the implications of green management implementation by manufacturing companies. For clarity and ease of guiding the research process, the authors divide the research objective into two resulting in two precise research objectives. These objectives are a)To investigate the environmental benefits of implementing green management in industries. b)To analyse the effects on the reputation and performance in companies that implement green management. The introductory chapter of the proposal offers clear statements on the research aim, objective, and problem. In fact, the authors summarise the research objective and problem at the end of the introduction section allowing the readers to connect between the background information and the subsequent research question and objective.
PEER REVIEW3 Methodology The research proposal utilises qualitative research methodology. Precisely, it employs critical content analysis as the primary method of collecting data. This research method entails analysing and evaluating past research materials relating to the study topic and question with the aim of obtaining a coherent and informed conclusion. In this respect, this method uses secondary data in answering the research question. Consequently, the authors demonstrate the use of a sound research methodology since the method they use is accepted universally in the scientific community. Nonetheless, the authors do not offer any preliminary findings in their research proposal as they end their writing in the methodology section. Although nothing is wrong with this approach, the authors could have offered some preliminary findings considering that their research methodology was a qualitative one. Presentation The overall presentation of the paper is impressive, particularly in the introductory and literature review sections. The introduction segment of the paper offers an interactive and comprehensive background on the study topic using perspectives drawn from various scholars. The integration of arguments from various scholarly materials illustrates that the authors conducted sufficient background research on the paper and possessed an exceptional mastery of the study subject. As a result, the introduction chapter offers reader with significant information making easy to understand the overall argument of the proposal and its focus. However, the paper illustrates several weaknesses particularly in paragraph structuring and analysis. The authors failed to follow the conventional writing structure of grouping sentences into coherent paragraphs. As such, the paper looks like a collection of sentences making it challenging for the readers to read through it smoothly. Importantly, the
PEER REVIEW4 paper is significantly descriptive making it lose its research attributes. Consequently, the paper can be improved by grouping the sentences into coherent paragraphs to enhance its readability. Moreover, the authors can improve the quality of the paper by being more analytical than descriptive in their writing. This aspect can be improved by including more detailed discussion on the scholarly materials than the current one. Critical Evaluation The introduction and literature review sections of the proposal are its main strong points. These two segments illustrate the extensive use of scholarly materials which relate to the study topic. Although the authors make an impressive effort in connecting the reviewed literature material to the study objectives, their analytical perspective is inadequate. As a result, the paper is highly descriptive. However, the key weakness of the proposal is its methodology section. Despite selecting a sound research methodology, the authors offer an insufficient description of how they are going to execute the research. For instance, they ought to have included the number of scholarly articles that they were going to review, the inclusion and exclusion criteria and importantly, the databases where they were going to source the articles. Nevertheless, the authors attained the research objectives even though not comprehensively as they did not offer preliminary findings. The introduction and literature review sections provide an incisive review of the study aim and enlighten the readers on the study objectives and the implications of using green management strategies in companies. Ranking Based on the assessment, this proposal scores 3/5. This score illustrates that the paper is excellent as it addresses the key areas of a research proposal outstandingly.
