3PERFORMANCE APPRAISALIntroductionRecognizing the performance of the employees is a significant aspect for theorganizations, as this acts as an encouragement for the employees, thereby, helping them inperforming better. Therefore, it is important for both private and public sector organizations toacknowledge the performance of the employees by different types of appraisal methods. Theappraising and rewarding systems for the employees help in encouraging healthy competitionamong the employees of the organization. Failure in appraising the performance of theemployees results in lack of dedication, engagement, and demotivation for the employees(Bernardin & Wiatrowski, 2013). Therefore, performance appraisal is an important method formeasuring the needs of employees and managers. Performance appraisal of the employees helps in identifying the employees that requiredevelopment for specializing in the organizational activities. The performance appraisal systemfor the employees helps the human resource management to identify and incorporating trainingsto mitigate the performance gaps. Effective performance appraisal results in increased employeeproductivity thereby, enhancing job quality, satisfaction commitment, and trust (Bernardin &Wiatrowski, 2013). The business organizations are increasingly depending on their human assetsin order to sustain in the competitive business environment. This suggests that the businessorganizations are emphasizing more on acknowledging the performance of the employees andappraising them (Pichler, 2012). However, the parlour has been facing issues in retaining full-time workers that areeventually hampering the service quality. Due to lack of effective performance appraisal, thecompany fails in understanding the needs of the employees and the managers (Pichler, 2012).The increased numbers of part-time workers are also resulting in failure in achieving targets andmeeting the task requirements. As a result, lack of dedication among the employees is noticed. Therefore, the main aim of the research is to recommend suitable strategies in terms ofperformance appraisal in order to improve the salon business such as earning, profit, the returnon assets and equity. Background of the OrganizationZubias Threading is a beauty salon with around 30 branches in Perth, Australia. Thecompany has around 150-170 employees. As it is a beauty salon, all the employees are femaleproviding services such as makeup, threading, tinting, lash extension and henna. The companyhas both part-time as well as full-time beauticians. However, the majority of the femaleemployees work as part-timers as they are students and need to focus on studies more. As aresult, the employees are lacking dedication towards the work that is leading to failure inachieving targets and requirements. According to the given case study, it can be seen that apartfrom the increased number of part-time employees, the relationship between the managers andemployees also hampers the quality of service. Therefore, the company is failing in satisfyingthe customers that are eventually hampering the service quality provided by Zubias Threading. Moreover, management need to rotate the staff in the different salon as per the rosterrequirements and every salon has the different manager. This has led to some work-relatedconflicts between employees and management within the organization ("Zubias Threading",
