Premium and sportscars are primarily manufactured in the United Kingdom with and the main players in the marketare Rolls Royce, Land Rover, Jaguar, Lotus, Jaguar, Bentley, Aston Martin, Daimler and manymore. Apart from these luxury carmakers, the marketplace in the United Kingdom is dominatedby volume car manufacturers which include Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Vauxhall motors. There are around 4500Companies in the sports motor industry in the United Kingdom and around 38, 500 people in thecountry are employed in this sector. This sector also has a turnover of around 6 Billion BritishPounds. In the year 2013 of September it was announced that at the University of Warwick’sMain Campus, a National Automotive Innovation Campus will be built and the cost of thisproject will be 100 million GBP. Jaguar Land Rover will contribute around 45 million GBP. Theautomotive industry in the United Kingdom has contributed substantially to the economy ofUnited Kingdom; turnover of 71.6 billion GBP and value of 18.9 billion GDP has beencontributed by the automotive sector. The employment opportunities provided by themanufacturing sector of the automotive sector of the United Kingdom is 169,000 people. Theautomotive sector has indirect employment opportunities for 814000 people in the supply chain,warehousing, logistics and the retail sector (Elmoselhy, 2013).
