INTRODUCTION Personal and professional development is a quite vast aspect that focusses on overall growth and development of an individual. It is very helpful in enhancing skills as well as knowledge of a person so that they can timely achieve their desired results within a specified time period. This report has been framed based on Travelodge hotel which is headquartered in Llford, UK. This report throws light on various approaches of self managed learning along with a professional and personal development plan. Also major stress has been laid on interpersonal as well as transferable skills along with time management strategies that are effective for business. Lastly, communication styles along with solutions to work based problems have been mentioned in this report. TASK 1 1.1Understand how self-managed learning can enhance lifelong development Self managed learning is a approach by which individual can find a different ways of learning things. It gives a long term individual development goal for the learners. Travelodge need to follow this concept to increase their members knowledge and skills for future growth. Through this concept organization can fulfil their target and goal accordingly. There are some approaches these are given below: Conferences and Seminars:Seminars and conferences are an effective tool through people can learn so many things. Organization give a lot of opportunities of people to present their knowledge about new things. It helps to people become more confident in speaking in public also may they can increase presentation skills. Internet:Internet is a very important approach with huge amount of data which provides various search sites such as google scholar, books, journals and so on. Travelodge members can acquire the knowledge where they need to be successful in work place (Brody and Hadar, 2015). Social Network:Social network is very effective approach through a range of different social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and so on where people can increase their knowledge and skills. Making and Keeping appointments:It is a very useful strategy where manager keeps their record on a daily basis performance in order to evaluate the task which allotted for every employee in a Travelodge.By making and keeping appointment up to datemanager of the Travelodge can know about the work performed by each workers as well as the time at which it is done. Self-awareness and get motivated with focus:This is the primary for an individuals to get motivated at any kinds of situations; thus, they can perform its task in proper way. Only goal setting is not needful but also it is must to concentrate on each of them. To raise my determination, I can view few motivational videos. In travelodge hotel through an employees survey it have analysed that there are some problemsoccurringsuchasexcessiveworkload,lowemployeesmorale,lessworkers encouragement, low job satisfaction, stress, ineffective communication, unrealistic targets and so on. In order to overcome from these issues some time management strategies are applied by the company.According to the analysing of effective time management strategy things can be done at the right time and place which reduce the problems of different task at one time (Walsh and 20
Craig,2016). Through the management strategies employees can start their new day with fresh mind, so an organizationcan make their employees desirable. So, Travelodge using time management strategy which provides benefits for their employees and grab the customer attention. CONCLUSION From the above mentioned report it has been concluded that personal and professional development are two sides of a coin and play a quite important role in overall growth and development of an individual. This also plays an important role in assessing future needs and responsibilities. This is an effective process which has two fold benefits that is achievement of personal as well as professional objectives within a specified time frame. Also various aspects of selfmanagedlearninghavebeenmentionedherealongwithvariouslearningtoolsand techniques by which organisational aimscan be achieved at a quite faster pace. .
